♦ 𝔣𝔦𝔯𝔰𝔱 𝔶𝔢𝔞𝔯 (𝔠𝔲𝔯𝔯𝔢𝔫𝔱)Maddox Martinez was a Muggleborn wizard, and Diana was a halfblood witch. They met at Hogwarts, Maddox a few years older than Diana, and they became close friends. Near the end of their schooling, they fell in love and decided to get married upon graduation. They had three children: Elizabeth, Skylar and Marilyn.
The family lived in a wizarding neighborhood within Bromsgrove, where the children could learn about the wizarding world from peers and the parents were comfortable using magic within their homes without Muggles spotting it from the street. They would often travel into the Muggle parts of town to shop, and the children spent time around Muggles almost as often as they would around fellow wizards. Of course, in the beginning it was nerve-wracking; if the children casted accidental magic during moments of extreme emotion, it would take a lot of effort to clean up the Muggles' minds.
Luckily for Marilyn, her first instance of magic was safe within the home. She was just a few years old, sitting in a high chair in the kitchen as her mum was preparing dinner. She kept asking for a cookie, but kept being told no. One time, as Diana's back was turned, Marilyn managed to cause the cookie jar to tip over from the top of the fridge. It fell onto the floor, shattering the jar and causing the cookies to spread across the tile floor. Since Marilyn was in her high chair, she wasn't able to reach for the cookies and her mother ended up cleaning up the mess easily. She told Marilyn she was proud of her magic, but warned her not to use it to break rules.
As the children grew up, they began to learn more about the prestigious school that was Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Maddox, who was raised believing he was a Muggle, would share his experiences with the school involving the wonder of finding out he was magic and the first view of the school as he rode across the lake. His excitement eventually spread to his children, especially Marilyn.
When Elizabeth got her enrollment letter, Marilyn was five years old. She actually cried when they took Lizzy to Diagon Alley to shop for her school supplies, and cried again when they watched her board the Hogwarts Express. She wanted to go with her sister because she was so excited to go to Hogwarts herself. She made quite a scene, no doubt embarrassing Lizzy as well. When Skylar got his letter, Marilyn was nine now and better behaved. She was still extremely excited, of course, unable to help bouncing on her feet as her sister and now brother boarded the train.
Finally, on Marilyn's eleventh birthday, the fated letter arrived bearing her name. She couldn't help but be frustrated as the new school year had just begun two months ago, so she would have to wait nearly a whole year before joining her siblings in school. They went shopping late August, getting Marilyn her own wand. On the first of September, Marilyn finally joined her sister and brother as they boarded the train for Hogwarts.

On the train, Marilyn was quick to make some friends. Shenanigans were had, which was an exciting start to her year. Once at the school, the Hogwarts Hype definitely continued living up to expectations. She was amazed by the magnificence, and could barely sit still during the Sorting Ceremony. She was placed into Hufflepuff, as her father was before her. She knew that the house tended to be the least favorable, but she felt no disappointment as she made her place among those at the Hufflepuff table. It was her father's house, and her father was a great man. Then again, she'd find some reason to be grateful no matter what house she was placed into.
She got herself a bed within the Plant Palace dorms, hoping to make new friends then. She was already looking forward to her classes, especially Herbology, but now that she was going to live within a room dedicated to the craft it made her all the more eager to begin her classes.

Marilyn stands at 4'8", with light brown hair and dark eyes. She likes to keep her hair tied up, her favorite style being twin braids like those shown above. When she's less energetic, though, a simple ponytail or bun to keep it out of her face suits her just fine. She is a little chubby, still holding on to baby fat, but she has supportive and loving parents who teach her to love her body even if society tries to press negative images onto girls even at her age. |
Marilyn doesn't like to wear hats, jewelry or most other accessories. It makes her take longer to get ready, and she's too impatient for that. She does, however, wear a silver necklace her mother got her for her 11th birthday to celebrate her enrollment in Hogwarts and it means the world to her.

| Marilyn is bright, enthusiastic and optimistic about the future. She loves to smile, and does it often. She finds even the dullest attempts at humor worthy of a giggle, and while it comes off as "eager to please" or even "annoying", it's genuine for her and thus she doesn't care what people think. She likes to ask questions; she likes to learn. Her main interests of learning include the outdoors and the wilderness. She loves wild animals, and is always miffed when she has to keep her distance in order to properly appreciate them. |

♢ Maddox Martinez | Father
Muggleborn native to the area, Maddox currently works as a cashier in a Muggle grocery store within Bromsgrove. He is excitable and optimistic, which is probably where Marilyn got it from. He was a Hufflepuff during his time at Hogwarts, and unlike many other Muggleborn students he preferred to stay connected to his pre-magical life. Thanks to him, the Martinez family is well-versed in some Muggle customs such as currency.
♢ Diana Harrison | Mother
Half-blood originating from the London area, Diana is currently an employee of the Ministry of Magic, working in the Portkey Office within the Department of Magical Transportation. She was a Ravenclaw in Hogwarts, and as an employee of the Ministry it shows. She is reliable and tidy, well-respected within the office. She's a fairly strict mother, but not suffocatingly so. She always expects the best from her children, even if it sometimes pushes them past their limits.
♢ Elizabeth Martinez | Sister | 17 | Seventh Year | Ravenclaw
Elizabeth definitely takes after her mother the most between the three children. She's hardworking and wise, but can come off as arrogant and selfish. She has her life goal planned out, planning to become an Auror after graduation and moving to London. As they've gotten older, Marilyn and Elizabeth have started to drift apart; Lizzy focuses more on her studies than anything else, often locking herself in her room all summer to prepare for the upcoming year.

Skylar, while a Ravenclaw like her mother and sister, isn't very bright. He often has the lowest grades of the three, and has terrible study habits. It's believed that instead of his wits, the Sorting Hat chose Ravenclaw House for him because of his creativity and drive for knowledge. He's not book smart, but loves to remember fun facts about simple things. He paints and sketches, which he definitely prefers to do over studying. Marilyn is still close to her brother, though he's never been as rambunctious as she and always preferred the quiet indoors.
