Adelyn Madeline Sinclair. The name Adelyn means "noble" - which now seems pretty fitting given her house. She recieved her middle name, Madeline, from her grandmother on her fathers side, who was a well loved, no-nonsense nurse in her fathers hometown who died when he was young. Sinclair is actually her mothers last name. She insisted upon meeting Adelyn's father that she was not going to take the last name Ruptbottom - and Adelyn is quite thankful for that fact.

Adelyn was pronounced a Gryffindor the moment the hat touched the top of her blonde locks. She was quite surprised, really - but delighted. She hadn't heard about the houses until she had been on the Hogwarts Express, and hadn't really put too much thought into what house she would get sorted into. However, Adelyn has to admit - she's pretty happy in Gryffindor. Maybe there was a secret part of her that knew she belonged there.

Adelyn is the proud owner of a 31.9 cm cherry wood wand with dragon heartstring! Adelyn is in her first year at the moment. Her favorite class at the moment is Defense Against the Dark Arts, with Astronomy being a close second. At the moment, her least favorite class is History of Magic. She finds it horrendously dull and she struggles with that type of learning.

Adelyn Sinclair was born on a warm summer evening on July 23rd, 2008 at 6:43pm in London, England to a chemistry professor, Dr. Roseanne Sinclair, and a high school teacher, Mr. Clark Sinclair, making her muggle-born. Adelyn still remains the only wizard in her family, but has two older brothers - a fifteen year old brother named Samuel, and a twelve year old brother named Connor. While neither wield magic, they are both escatic that their "little sis" can practice magic, and are always trying to convince her to do some (much to her fathers dismay, who read up furiously on the rules of magic the moment that she was accepted into Hogwarts and the word got out to her brothers).
But before that fateful day, Adelyn was just a normal girl. Her best friend since kindergarten has been Marlowe Rowan, who Adelyn already misses fiercely. They met when Marlowe was being picked on for who knows what by some first graders, in which Adelyn intervened. Sure, the boys ran away laughing - but it was a victory to both the young girls, and they had been best friends ever since. In fact, while Marlowe isn't aware, Adelyn first discovered her magic ability when she was with Marlowe. They were walking home from school when they were 9 years old, and came across a rather aggressive-looking stray dog. Marlowe, terrified, ran behind an alley way. Adelyn, on the other hand, was frozen in terror. The dog lunged, and Adelyn stuck out her hands to defend herself, expecting a surge of pain. Instead, all she heard were muted, tiny yaps. She looked down and realized that she had shrunk the dog to the size of a hamster. The mutt, distressed, ran off, and Marlowe came out from hiding, relieved that the dog was gone.
Adelyn only ever told her parents of the incident. She had always had a wonderful relationship with them both - her mother was the stubborn, proud head of the house, and her father was the more gentle one. They gave her their doubtful support, despite being confused (and her mother a bit amused). However, by the time Adelyn was 11, even she had begun to believe that she had dreamt the entire thing. That was when the letter came. Both of her parents, convinced that their young daughter had merely made up an imaginary scenario (after all, they were veteran parents) were equally shocked - and a little panicked. Adelyn convinced them to not call the police, for in her heart she felt that this was real. And she is certainly glad that she trusted the letter.
Adelyn is currently practicing wizardry at Hogwarts, but writes back to her family consistently. She is, however, hurt that she has to lie to Marlowe. Ever since Adelyn was a little girl, she has been a force to be reckoned with. Even has a toddler, Adelyn was rampaging through the house, stirring up as much trouble as she could possibly muster. And instead of setting good examples, her brothers were much more eager to join in on the trouble making. Her parents have always called her their "little firecracker", because despite being small, Adelyn has always been mighty.
First impressions of Adelyn, depending on who you are, are generally positive. She is an outgoing individual who always has something to say, and is always providing her friends with optimism and constructive feedback. She is a wonderful listener, and the type to invite just about anyone who looks alone to sit at her table. It's part of Adelyn's philosophy - the more, the merrier. However, a first impression of Adelyn by a bully usually consists of sharp words and a defensive stance. While she doesn't resort to violence (she knows she's much stronger in brains than brawn), she is more than happy to chew anyone out who she dislikes.
To anyone who is friends with Adelyn for a period of time, they can quickly understand her as a loyal friend - and an open book. Adelyn is self-righteous, and has trouble admitting when she is wrong, especially if it can hurt her pride. She thrives on the successes of her friends, and will frequently cheer them on to do things that they are a little too frightened to do themselves. Adelyn often finds herself in positions of leadership due to her charismatic nature, and has proven herself to be clever in situations of authority. Those who know her often feel very strongly - positively or negatively - about Adelyn, and she often reciprocates these feelings with just as much intensity. Within five seconds of meeting someone she has usually made up her mind on them.
However, Adelyn isn't perfect. She can be judgemental, as hard as she tries to avoid biases. She tries not to base her opinions off of stereotypes, but it is difficult for her to not hold some sort of resentment towards Slytherin (where did that even come from?). She is quite impatient, and while she will stay up all night until she has a spell down, she can often exhaust herself from her ambitions. Adelyn consistently has to be moving, and does terribly with boredom. She is ridiculously stubborn, sometimes even after she's been proven wrong so that she can save her dignity. She is reckless, and often plunges head first into situations before she has thought them through. As much as Adelyn hates to admit it, she's a bit naive. She can be manipulated into believing just about anything, but once she realizes the truth, be prepared to be blackmailed just as hard.
Generally, Adelyn can be described as energetic, courageous, forgiving, thoughtful, ambitious, determined, persistent, starry-eyed, selfless, and loyal.

Her complexion is fair, and the girl has a tendency to burn more than tan. She doesn't have any body modifications (she's never been one for jewelry), and does not have any scars except for a few scratches from foolish adventures (such as racing a tree in a competition with her brothers when she was 7. She fell, but hey, she got second place. So, worth it.)
Adelyn, outside of her school uniform, has a love for fashion. While she is currently eleven and her tastes are... questionable, but as she matures she will likely tap into the fashion scene a bit more. Hopefully.

SORTING CEREMONY 2019-2020 - SOLO - FINISHED - APPARATE
Having of just learned what the houses were hours ago, Adelyn wasn't entirely sure what house she belonged to. However, the moment the Sorting Hat announced her as "Gryffindor", she felt that she was right at home.
LONG ROAD AHEAD - PERCIVAL & CHRISTINE - ONGOING - APPARATE
Managing to save another first year from the tormenting of some fourth years, Adelyn found herself in the cabin of two unsuspecting strangers - both first years. They chat, and introduce her to some of the first wonders of Hogwarts through their stories.
FIRE AND RAIN - KAYDEN - ONGOING - APPARATE
Being unable to sleep, Adelyn decides to spend some time studying in the common room before she runs into Kayden - a fellow First Year. The two have a midnight chat, finding that they both have some very particular common interests.
"WHY IS MAGIC TRYING TO KILL ME?" - ANASTASIA - ONGOING - APPARATE
After a failed Charm class practice incident, Adelyn finds that a Second Year had been there to witness her entire, embarrassing failure. However, much to her surprise, the girl seemed willing to help, and even befriend her.
LAUNCHING INTO MADNESS - JACK - ONGOING - APPARATE
After what was meant to be a silly game turned into a huge mistake, Adelyn realized in horror that instead of flinging soup on to the face of one of her friends, she had instead launched it straight onto the hair of a Slytherin boy - Jack Burnett.
WISHFUL THINKING - REYNOLDS - ONGOING - APPARATE
Adelyn clearly has no idea how the owl system works. Like, at all. So in an attempt to retrieve a letter from her old best friend that would never come, Adelyn soon comes to terms with their broken friendship. Of course, what she didn't intend to happen was to meet a kind Hufflepuff in the chilly Owlery.
A BIG MISTAKE - PERCIVAL & ALY - ONGOING - APPARATE
What should have been a peaceful evening (combined with a little past-curfew rebellion) turned into a horrific nightmare as Adelyn was plunged into the Great Lake, dragged by her ankle by a grindylow. She was only so lucky that two strangers happened to be there to rescue her.
SOMETHING SPECIAL - LILIA - ONGOING - APPARATE
Adelyn is studying feverishly in the Dragons Den her least favorite subject - History. While fighting her way through absorbing the painstakingly boring information, Adelyn runs into the infamous Lilia Eilrtsen - a pureblood who also happens to be in her dorm.
