Most describe Seul as the “cold child,” being born as the result of the amalgamation between two notable Korean pure-blood families: the An family and the Seung family. Her strict upbringing has given her more of an austere look, with her long jet-black hair and her pale complexion with hints of warmth only adding to her poised aura. She has a small button nose and luminous midnight eyes fitting of nobility. Though she is known for her cold demeanor, her nature is quite more complex. Seul was disciplined to be observant and reserved, and in turn, detached her from most children her age. Despite most opinions on her, Seul is humble and forgiving on the inside. She understands other people and cares a lot for loved ones, although she can be a bit sensitive and skeptical at times.[/font]

[font=Courier New]The An family was a prominent pure-blood family in Korea during the Joseon Dynasty (1392 - 1896), with many high status family members in the Korean Ministry of Magic (no official name has been released by JK. Rowling). They were highly respected and regarded as one of the most powerful wizarding families in Korea, with influence over the magical government. The colonial rule of Imperial Japan over Korea in 1916 revealed weakness within both the muggle government, and the Korean Ministry of Magic. The patriarch of the An family at that time, An Dae, grew a lust for power and sought to take advantage of the circumstances to establish total dominance of the An family over Korea with the help of Japanese nobility. Their rule, however, was short-lived after the Japanese forces surrendered to the Allied forces in 1945. As the newly established South Korean Ministry of Magic gained strength, the An family was trialed and exiled, and An Dae was publicly executed for treason. His son, An Tae and Seul’s great grandfather, relocated the family to an isolated manor in Swansea, Wales in order to repent for their sins. Since then, An family descendants have attended the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. In 2002, Seul’s father, An Hyun-Ki was set to marry Seung Soojin from a less notable Korean pure-blood family as an effort to reestablish the An family as part of South Korea. [/font]

An Hak-kun (1381 - 1466): The progenitor of the An family. Hak-kun was born into a muggle orphanage, abandoned by his parents because of the declining power and internal conflicts of the Goryeo dynasty. As he was a pure-blood, he quickly discovered differences between him and the other muggle orphans. His oddities instituted prejudice as he was constantly picked on for being a freak. As his magical prowess manifested, he burned down the orphanage and sought to discover more of the magical world.

[font=Courier New]Zeng Gui Ying (1659 - 1717): Gui Ying was the heiress of the Zeng family, a pure-blood family in China. Her marriage to An Myung of the An family symbolized the forging of a union between Korean and Chinese wizards. [/font]
[font=Courier New]An Chung-Ae (1832 - 1866): Chung-Ae was an eminent auror in the Korean Ministry of Magic. His repertoire of many successful captures of dark wizards landed him international fame and the head auror position. With his leadership, he led Korea into many years of peace before his death in 1866 where he was killed by French wizards in the French campaign against Korea. [/font]

However, due to his tyrannic campaign to overthrow the Korean Ministry of Magic, he was executed by the newly formed South Korean Ministry of Magic. [/font]

[font=Courier New]The Seung family was a less notable pure-blood family in Korea, nevertheless still respected. Members of the Seung family are spread across many professions including alchemists, dragon keepers, and even entertainers. Though still a pure-blood family, Seungs have less prejudice against muggles and are even seen befriending them. They were laughed upon by other pure-blood families and has since shrunk out of the spotlight. That was until the Japanese surrender in 1945 where Korea was divided into North and South Korea. With many prominent pure-blood families stuck in North Korea, the Seung family was asked to step up into the rebuilding of the now South Korean Ministry of Magic. Although South Korean relations with the An family were seemingly severed, the Seung family stayed in contact and even provided insider information about the S.K.M.O.M. [/font]
[font=Courier New]Seung Hyun-Shik (1496 - 1562): The progenitor of the Seung family. A very mysterious character, little is known about Hyun-Shik besides his notes on breakthroughs of his alchemy experiments. [/font]
[font=Courier New]Seung Min-Hee (1573 - 1607): Min-Hee was known across the lands as a beautiful singer. Her international fame rose in 1598 with collaborations with prominent Chinese and British singers. She was poisoned to death by her fiancé with acromantula venom when he found out she was having an affair with a popular Chinese wizard. [/font]
[font=Courier New]Seung Sangwook (1923 - 2005): Sangwook was asked to be a member of the high council in the newly established South Korean Ministry of Magic after the separation of Korea. His achievements include the reunification of North Korean wizarding families (not to be confused with muggle North Korea relations). Though North Korea has already established a council of their own, Sangwook initiated a cooperation between the North and the South, which resulted in his promotion to the South Korean Minister of Magic. Sangwook was in favor of the new An family’s reentry into Korea, and even allowed his granddaughter Seung Soojin to marry into the An family as an attempt to rebind the An family. Although the rest of the council does not approve, progress is still made. Sangwook died peacefully in his sleep and his son, Seung Sang-Ook took his position as Minister.[/font]
