James hears someone call his name and he swivels around in his chair, so quickly, he almost falls off.
"Oh! Alecks!" James exclaimed, surprised to see him here.
James quickly holds up a finger to him, and turns back to the bar, dropping a couple of wizard coins onto the counter for Mr. Twonotchz as payment.
James grabs his bag and jumps down from his spot on the high stool and weaves his way through the crowded restaurant. Finally, he found himself in front of Alecks.
"Hi again! How are you doing?" James looked around the place, realizing how loud it really was. James could barely hear himself over the heavy chatter of the Cauldron, so he motioned for Alecks to join him outside in the hallways that led to the Leaky Cauldron's bedrooms. James inched his way past a rather large wizard who was bending over to pick something up (a coin, James guessed) therefore, taking up even more space. James moved slowly, so as not to step on anybody's toes or trip and fall, making a mess of himself and the rest of the bar.
Eventually, James managed to slip by the man and Alecks and all the tables and chairs, and motioned again for Alecks to follow him through the door into the more empty hallway.

Alecks see James trying to get him to follow him, to get somewhere quieter where they could actually hear each other speak. Alecks watches him as he slips and slides throughout the crowded bar, getting to an open spot. He checks to see if he is following as he slinks past a... *cough cough* rather... um... large man who was bent over.

'I can see his mouth moving... is he trying to say something? If so, what is he trying to say? Maybe I should try to say something. Maybe he can hear me? Should I?'

"James!"

'Ah, no response,' Alecks thinks as he make my way around the wooden chairs and tables, trying not to fall and make a fool of himself in front of all these people, classmates or not, 'Maybe if I slip through here, and then slide past him, he needs some deodorant. I'll go past her, aaaand she needs a mint. I'll never date someone with their breath like that, gross!'

Alecks finally slips past the final drunk and makes it to James. He can see why James wanted to get away; all of this loud noise is really starting to hurt my head.

"Come on, maybe it is a lot quieter up there. This place has given my a major headache. Loud drunks!"

James held the door open for Alecks, not leaving it too wide, but just enough for him to get through without knocking anything over.
Once Alecks is through, James shuts the door, and his ears finally have some time to rest from all the commotion.
James turns back to Alecks.
"Hey! How're you doing?" James asks, smiling at the sight of his friend.
James wondered if Alecks had come there specifically to see James, or they were there at the same time by coincidence.
"Is there something you wanted to talk to me about, or did you just happen to bump into me?" James asked, wanting to clarify a bit more, so that here weren't misunderstandings and also because he needed to get at least 200 words into one post, lol.
James waited for an answer, wondering if they should stay standing in the hallway or move somewhere else where they would be alone. Or perhaps they could go outside and do something fun, whether in Diagon Alley or London... James could instantly think of multiple things he and Alecks could do.
Don't rush ahead of yourself. He told himself in his mind sternly.
Okay... just wait to hear what he has to say...

Alecks slipped in the room that James had held the door open for him to enter.

'Thank god he knew this room was here! I swear, my ears would have fallen off had he not found a little peace and quiet.'

"Hey James! Nice to see you again, if I'm being honest. I was in a really bad mood, so I came here hoping to bump into a friend that could calm me down, but I think I'm all good now. I think I'm good. So, anyway, what where you doing here? Just trying to escape classes and such?"

'Should I ask him what he thinks of me? What if I'm too rude? Or mean? Or stupid? Or, or...calm down Alecks, you are fine. He seems to like you just fine the way you are. If he didn't like something about you, he would tell you, wouldn't he?'

Alecks started thinking, and while he thought, he twirled his hair around his fingers and such. Really just playing with his hair. It's a bad habit for when he get nervous, okay? Why is he nervous? James is one of my best friends, he doesn't need to screw this whole thing up.

James closed the door behind the two of them, shutting out the noise completely. He turned to Alecks as he started speaking.

James had a bit of trouble following what he was saying at first, but after a few seconds of thinking, he figured it out.
"Nice to see you too!" James replied. "Why were you in a bad mood?" James asked.
Then, James had a thought. A lot of times, people were having a bad day, but they didn't always want to talk about it right away. What they needed was a little more appropriate place, not where they were just standing in the hallway.
"Unless you don't want to talk about it..." James added, "'Cause that would be fine."
James looked around, thinking of where they could go.
"Hey, do you want to go somewhere else? So that we're not just sitting here in the middle of a hallway?"

"Oh, you are fine! Honestly, I just needed to get out, you know? Just had someone up my butt and I didn't like that and then I flipped out and then they flipped out and then I tried to apologize and then they didn't accept the apology and...yeah. Just not a fun time." Alecks looked down at the wooden flooring, wishing that he could just disappear into the air. He takes a deep breath and tries to calm down again, seeing as he doesn't need to be an angry freak in front of his friend, it’s just not a good idea.
"So, I'm sorry for being all, you know, super fast talking and stuff. It kinda just happens whenever I get really mad or upset. Y- Yeah, we can go somewhere else if you'd like. I just need to get away. Away from everything that is making me mad and upset. D- Do you ever get like this? Just extremely mad and you think that not a single person, in the whole wide wicked world could calm you down? " Alecks sighs and looks up in to James’ eyes, silently begging for a response from the guy he knows so well, at least Alecks thought he knew him well.
"I thought someone was complimenting me, because of how they worded it. It really sounded like they were telling me I did good at something for once. But they weren't. They were telling me I was bad at it. They tried 'to let me down easy'. Like, if you want to tell me I'm bad at something, just frickin' tell me I'm bad a it and need to get better! God! Why does no one like me the way I am?" Alecks felt a tear fall down his cheek, and he can feel the mascara running down his cheek with it.

James just stood there with he friends, listening to his problems.

Alecks said all this, just talking fast and getting it all out.
"It's okay, Alecks." James spoke after he was done. "I like you the way you are! And even if I didn't it doesn't matter what others think!"
James did understand what Alecks was feeling, but James wasn't going to try and match him, because that could lead to bad feelings between the two of them.

Alecks just stood there, breathing as hard as a human possibly can. "It's okay, Alecks." James spoke after he was done. "I like you the way you are! And even if I didn't it doesn't matter what others think!" Alecks smile at James, he just gave him a huge leap of courage. Even if Alecks shouldn't have, he did. HE jumped up and hugged James. "T- Thanks James. I really just needed someone to tell me that. Those words exactly. But, it does matter what you think, especially if it's about me." He slides his arms out from around James and look into his eyes, thanking him again and again for being the only person there for him. After it hits Alecks, he immediately looks down at the ground as he felt the blood start to rush into his cheeks. He needed to stop, even if it took measures of boy boycotting that Jude did in I'll Give You The Sun when she was trying to stay away from Oscar: eating a lemon, falling on my face, refusing to take an orange from him; anything it may take to stop this, he will do. "Thank you James, thank you." Alecks smiled a real, sincere smile that he hadn't smiled in a long time for anyone but Muirgen.

Hugs! Yes! James loved hugs!
"T- Thanks James. I really just needed someone to tell me that. Those words exactly. But, it does matter what you think, especially if it's about me."
And with that, Alecks hugged James. James loved giving people hugs, and if he wasn't fast enough and someone else gave him a hug first, he was more than happy to return it.
"Thank you James, thank you." Alecks said after breaking away from the hug.
James nodded, beaming at him.
"Of course! I'll always be there for you. That's what friends are for!" James exclaimed.
"So, did you want to go do something?" James asked, moving his hands around in small shrug-like circles.
"Maybe, go somewhere in Diagon Alley, or hang out... I don't know, just do something!?" James cried, waving his hands above his head, laughing.
"Maybe we could go to that Ice Cream Parlor that's there in Diagon Alley. I think the guy's name is Florean or something... anyway, I've been there once before, but I had to leave before I could get any ice cream. They do have Mint'n'Chip, though, and that's my favorite. What about you?" JAmes asked, saying it all in an excited rush.

Soft, little laughs fall out of Alecks’ mouth as James speaks way too quickly for him to understand. Alecks’ loves when his friends are excited, it makes him so happy!

"Of course! I'll always be there for you. That's what friends are for!"

He smiles as he deciphers the first couple of sentences that James had spoken. Another quick hug is given as a thank you. Alecks’ arms wrapping around his chest is, not trying to be awkward here, honestly really soothing. Just knowing that you have a friend that you can always talk to, through your ups and downs, just a soothing feeling. After Alecks finally figured out that James was, totally not asking me on a date, asking me to go somewhere and hang out with him, he was nodding like a frickin psychopath.

"James...James calm down! I know you're excited and all, but sheesh! I can barely understand what you are trying to say!"

I start laughing at the face James makes as he spoke, really cute, if you ask him.

"I'm lactose intolerant, but we could still go to Florean's. I wouldn't mind it all that much!" Alecks looked into James' eyes and then straight back onto the floor, feeling the heat in his cheeks. 'No Alecks, no!'
