Breakfast has just finished for Breana, and now she's heading back to the tent. Usually, the little girl isn't one to be the first to leave the breakfast table, but there was a certain promise that she's hoping to keep-- and that is to write Pericles a letter. As much as she's happy to have met her tentmates, she'd die of embarrassment if they would see her write a letter to the boy. Still, the little Ravenclaw didn't want to admit it, but her little young heart would flutter a bit just thinking of how he'd react to her letter. She shook her head trying to get herself to focus. The Ravenclaw has to finish the letter first, after all! Breana rummaged through her big duffel bag and pulled out her writing equipment that she packed up specifically to write letters, sitting down on her sleeping bag.

As she dipped her quill and hovered her hand over to the yellow-tinted paper, her eyebrows furrowed. How should she address him? Sure she's written him a letter before, but that was for catching a Pericles imposter. Besides that, the freckled kid wrote to her parents before, but this is different. This was her crush, for Merlin's sake! For an 11-year-old girl, that's a rather large deal. She started the letter with something simple. "'Hey, Pericles...!'" She muttered to herself. Breana crinkled her nose before crumpling up the paper and threw it aside. Thankfully she brought a whole mound of them. "Okay, uh... maybe... " She then aggressively starts writing. "'Salutations, my friend Pericles...?'" Breana flung that paper to the other side of the tent. "Too formal." She then started again. "'My Dearest, Pericles-- ...'" She quickly disposed of that one, ripping it apart and even using her teeth to do so. "No, nope, nada... Definitely NOT!" She said, her voice not so quiet anymore.

"URGH, come on, Bre, pull yourself together!" She coaxed herself, pulling her own hair. "Papa can write a full book once, this is just one stinkin' letter!!" She groaned out in aggravation, dipping the ink of her quill multiple times before grabbing a new sheet of paper. "OKAY. Okayokayokay... How about... uh..." Breana struggled. The tip of her quill already on the paper. "'Peri, oh hi! Didn't see you there!'" She crumpled that paper before falling backward and lying down on her sleeping bag, letting out a final groan of defeat.

The sun was shining bright in the sky that day, so before breakfast Lydia had gone on a walk around the Hogwarts camp site. Since the morning was still young, the air that hit her face was still quite cool, the hot, sticky summer weather still far away.

It was nice, walking around when people were mostly still asleep; the labyrinth of tents looked kind of surreal, a sleeping maze that soon would have been filled with hungry students.

Once she was done with her morning walk, the Hufflepuff girl walked back to her tent, got changed and then headed out to have something for breakfast. She still wasn’t too used to not having classes, or being around Aaron a lot; the fact that they were not camping together made it a little more difficult for them to hang out, but Lydia knew that her friend was also probably pretty busy with quidditch, after all the match was approaching fast.

After a generous breakfast, and some chats at the table, she decided to head back to the tent and see who else was awake. Just as she was walking inside, she heard someone mutter something, and then the sound of paper being crumbled.

Too curious to resist, she tried to be as silent as she could and peeked inside the tent, only to find Breana intent in what looked like writing something. The look on the young witch’s face suggested that she was slightly frustrated, and if her expression was r enough, the Ravenclaw girl tore apart one of the pages with her mouth.

Widening slightly her eyes, Lydia kept observing her new friend, Pericles’ name reaching her ears. So Breana was Pericles’ friend! Lydia didn’t know him too well, even though they were in the Ball committee together, but she knew that he was an incredible student, and that back in April, during the Ball, he had helped a lot of students.

When Breana groaned again and then laid down on her sleeping bag, Lydia decided to enter the tent, giving her a small smile.

“Hey Breana, hi!” She greeted her, as she made her way towards her. “I- I couldn’t help but hear you and... why don’t you start with something like ‘Pericles, hi! How is your summer going?’ ?” She asked, her smile still on her lips.

“I understand your frustration, I’m not too good at writing letters either! I could write pages and pages for school, but when it comes to writing a letter to someone else... that’s a completely different story!” A small chuckle left her lips, as she slightly tilted her head.

"Everything beautiful is ruined eventually."
