Team Three & Four Abandoned

Group 3
[20] Dealla Prince
[19] Percival Gray
[16] Cassandra Ironwoods
[9] Adonis Thorn
[23] Ezekiel Wasek

Group 4
[2] Opeila Seilun
[11] Koko Riddle
[24] Nico Shymane
[25] Persephone Barret

Dealla Prince was separated from those she knew. She was not much of a fighter. Not nearly as compliant as Ezekiel or Adonis for that matter. She would commiserate with Cassandra perhaps and be well aware of Selim's antics. Thankfully they were not a man short entering their first fight. On the other team, they were a down a fighter already. Yes, there was only four of them. Not real fair. Well, of course not. Since when did a villain ever play fair?

Of course there was a reason for that, for the uneven skirmish that would soon be on display. These girls, yes all of them were girls, were the ones that were the 'hardest to get along with.' Perhaps it was because of the authority they were both gifted and burdened with. It had not earned Nico Shymane or Koko Riddle any friends, only animosity. Opeila has some contentious moments with the other girls in her very group and had over her first year at this school made more than a handful of enemies. Finally there was Persephone, did anyone get along with her? She was the sort of little girl that made new enemies faster than most changed their underwear.

They were up next. [The fate of the other match unknown, sorry] Victor would make his way onto the possibly blood-stained ring and announce the next pair of teams. "That was ... interesting," Victor had a smile on his face but it looked forced. It was too big, too wide. There were too many teeth showing. The crowd applauded, there was money exchanging hands. Some happy patrons, some lesser.

"Who is ready for the next fight!"

It was not a question but a rallying cry. Apparently they were. "Team three, numbers twenty, nineteen, sixteen, nine, and twenty-three," the larger set of students. "Against two, eleven, twenty-four and twenty five." Victor did not immediately pull himself out of the ring this time. "Funny story... yeah..." he was walking around the ring waiting for the crowd to hush so he could carry on. "These girls hold a special place in my heart," d'awww... "You see, two and my boi," yes, he said it like that. "Used to be a thing, real briefly. That was until she lured him out on the promise of a date and her friends attacked and robbed us." There was an awkward silence, he shrugged. "Break-ups are hard I guess."

That story kind of sucked, it was not funny at all. That forced smile seemed to remain plastered across his leathery face (there). An awkward laugh, a polite chuckle in the crowd. They were getting restless. Victor should not give up his day job or dream of being a wizard, stand-up is not something he was going to be able to fall back on. He would start to vacate the ring before the teams entered. If Opeila was among the first or the last it did not matter, he would call out a 'useless tidbit' to ruin her day. "If you win this date with Vlad, don't bring him back to our common room. Snakes and birds should never mix."

For those that play:
  • 3 actions. Pick your targets clearly.
  • Please only state one conditional if you place a conditional. A conditional is a statement where you use IF. For instance, if Sarah is knocked out then target Bob. There is a lot of you and multiple actions to moderate. With too many conditionals it becomes chaos.
  • Order of operations: everyone's first attack is rolled for and resolved first, then the second attack and so on. So attacks that cause an effect will take place immediately after they have been inflicted.
  • Attacks in the action order are considered to have went off simultaneously. So you can knock each other out.

Cross Punch: A direct straight punch similar to the jab, except delivered with the rear hand. Power is generated through the rotation of the hips.

Effect: Attacks a single target at +0 accuracy for 25 damage * strength modifier.
Jab: The jab is a straight blow delivered (generally from a distance) with the arm above the lead foot ... The punch is quick and explosive. This punch must land from the very tips of the knuckles and not from a flat fist. " It is generally used for distraction, keeping distance, setting up, and defense.

Effect: Attacks a single target at +4 accuracy for 23 * strength modifier.
Backfist: A backfist is performed by forming a fist and striking with the backside of the fist.

Effect: Attacks a single target at -4 accuracy for 27 * strength modifier.
Spinning Backfist: A spinning backfist is performed when the attacker swivels 360 degrees before landing the punch, adding extra momentum to the attack. The fighter will lunge and begin spinning toward the side of the opponent of which fist he or she will attack with. Simpler terms, go to the left, spin to the left and connect with the left fist and vice versa.

Effect: Attacks a single target at -4 accuracy for 22 damage * strength modifier. On a full hit there is a 10% chance that the opponent suffers the sprained secondary effect where they suffer a -1 to their dodge for the next 3 rounds as well as the slowed secondary effect where they suffer a -1 to their accuracy for the next 3 rounds. [Can stack] [Each secondary effect is rolled separately]
Chambered Punch: A strike commonly performed in karate, kung fu, and tae kwon do, originating from a "chambered" position.

Prerequisite: Martial Artist

Effect: Attacks a single target at +4 accuracy for 23 * strength modifier. Regardless of success, the martial artist has a +1 dodge to the next attack aimed at them.
Leopard Blow (Long Fist): By tucking the fingertips against the bottom knuckle of each finger, a long fist is formed. They offer decreased strength but increased reach. The striking surface is also narrower, which allows the fist to dig between ribs and other soft target areas.

Effect: Attacks a single target at +0 accuracy for 20 damage * strength modifier. On a full hit there is a 10% chance that the opponent suffers the weakened secondary effect where they do 10% less damage for the next 3 rounds. [Can stack]
Hammer Fist: A compacted fist is brought down upon the target, usually using the outside area of the fist.

Effect: Attacks 1 target at +0 accuracy for 15 * strength modifier initial damage and 10 * strength modifier damage per round for the next 3 rounds.
Haymaker: A punch in which the arm is whipped sideways from the shoulder joint with minimal elbow bend. The name is derived from the motion, which mimics the action of manually cutting hay by swinging a scythe. The haymaker is considered an imperfect/impure punch, as the angle of approach is unsupported by the remainder of the forearm. Since a haymaker's power is derived completely from weight transfer and momentum instead of muscle contraction, a long windup is required to generate sufficient force. Haymakers, in the form of shoulder punches, are frequently used from a mounted position in mixed martial arts as part of the "ground and pound" method, as the legs cannot be used to generate power. When thrown from standing, these punches leave the person vulnerable to a counter punch during the wind up, if blocked, or if the haymaker misses. Haymaker is generally considered a street or bar fighters punch, as it is the punch a person is most likely to use if they have not practiced martial arts and has little to no advantages over other punches such as the somewhat similar hook, making its use by martial artists rare.

Effect: Attacks 1 target at -4 accuracy for 32 * strength modifier. If this attack misses, the next attack on the user is an auto-hit.
Hook: A punch involving the use of turning to aim toward the side of the head or body. This punch must land from the very tips of the knuckles and not from a flat fist.

Effect: Attacks a single target at +0 accuracy for 20 damage * strength modifier. On a full hit there is a the opponent suffers the disoriented secondary effect where there is a 5% chance that they will auto-miss their attacks for the next 3 rounds. [Can stack]
Drop: A semi-circular and vertical punch thrown with the rear hand. It is usually when the opponent is bobbing or slipping. The strategic utility of the drop relying on body weight can deliver a great deal of power. This punch must land from the very tips of the knuckles and not from a flat fist.

Prerequisite: Martial Artist

Effect: Attacks a single target at +0 accuracy for 20 damage * strength modifier. If a player has elected to taker the dodgeoption for this round, this attack negates that effect (meaning the player derives no benefit from the buff to their dodge). This serves as a counter to dodge.
Shovel Hook: A close range punch that is halfway between a hook and an uppercut. Shovel hooks are most commonly used to strike the body at a 45 degree angle. For example, a liver shot can be done using a shovel hook. This punch must land from the very tips of the knuckles and not from a flat fist.

Effect: Attacks a single target at +0 accuracy for 20 damage * strength modifier. On a full hit there is a 10% chance that the opponent suffers the slowed secondary effect where they suffer a -1 to their attack accuracy for the next 3 rounds. [Can stack]
Uppercut: The fist is raised vertically towards the target, usually the head or upper body. Since most guards are held with the arms in a vertical position, the uppercut can be used to avoid the opponent's attempts at blocking.

[Can stack] If a player has elected to taker the block option for this round, this attack negates that effect (meaning the player derives no benefit from the buff to their dodge). This serves as a counter to block.
Upset Punch: Starts with the fist in the chambered position, with the palm facing downwards, delivered to the abdomen or solar plexus.

Prerequisite: Martial Artist

Effect: Attacks a single target at +0 accuracy for 20 damage * strength modifier. On a full hit there is a 10% chance that the opponent suffers the disabled secondary effect where they take +10% damage for the next 3 rounds. [Can stack]
Casting Punch: This is a punch used in Sambo and MMA that starts with a forward motion of the shoulders, which causes the bent arm to whip forward to the opponent. This punch can often cause the opponent to be put in a clinch if it misses at close range.

Effect: Attacks a single target at -4 accuracy for 27 damage * strength modifier. On a full hit there is a 10% chance that the opponent suffers the sprained secondary effect where they suffer a -1 to their dodge for the next 3 rounds. [Can stack] However if this attack misses, any grapple attempts for the round have a +3 chance to hit.
Superman Punch: A superman punch or diving punch is a technique used in Muay Thai, ITF-style Taekwon-Do, full contact karate and mixed martial arts fighting. The striker will lunge toward the opponent pushing off with the back foot punching with the opposite arm of the leg used to push off with although there may be variations in the name and technique, depending on the fighting style. The pose should resemble that of Superman flying through the air, hence the name.

Effect: Attacks a single target at -4 accuracy for 27 damage * strength modifier. On a full hit there is a 25% chance that the opponent is knocked onto their back. They must spend their next action getting back onto their feet, therefore their next intended action is lost. This can also be used in a combo, where if it is followed up with a grapple attempt on a target that has been successfully knocked as the user's next action, the attempt has a +2 to the accuracy and strength check. However, this move suffers from a +1 critical fail chance (negated by Perfectionist).
Sucker Punch: A punch that takes the enemy by surprise, possibly knocking them out or otherwise incapacitating them. Could be an unexpected blow to the stomach or a strike from behind that the victim did not see coming.

Effect: A Contested Wisdom Roll is performed to see if the opponent is taken by surprise. If the wisdom roll fails, the attack is an auto-miss. However, if the wisdom roll is successful then the attack is an auto-hit for 25 damage * strength modifier. This attack has a +1 critical range and can only be used by a user once every other round.
Kicks
Font Kick: Delivering a front kick involves raising the knee and foot of the striking leg to the desired height and extending the leg to contact the target with the ball of their foot. Front kicks are typically aimed at targets below the chest: stomach, thighs, groin, knees or lower.

Effect: Attacks a single target at +0 accuracy for 20 damage * strength modifier. +1 critical range.
Upward Kick: Delivering a front kick involves raising the knee and foot of the striking leg to the desired height and extending the leg to contact the target with the tops of their toes. These are normally aimed at targets below the chest: stomach, thighs, groin, knees or lower.

Effect: Attacks a single target at -4 accuracy for 22 damage * strength modifier. On a full hit there is a 10% chance that the opponent suffers the winded secondary effect where they have a 5% chance to auto-fail their actions for the next 3 rounds. [Can stack]
Roundhouse Kick: The attacker swings their leg sideways in a circular motion, kicking the opponent's side with the front of the leg, usually with the instep, ball of the foot, toe, or shin. It can also be performed is a 360-degree kick where the attacker performs a full circle with their leg, in which the striking surface is generally either the instep, shin or ball of the foot.

Effect: Attacks a single target at -4 accuracy for 22 damage * strength modifier. This attack cannot critically fail.
Side kick: The side kick is delivered sideways in relation to the body of the person kicking. A standard side kick is performed by first 'chambering' by raising the kicking leg diagonally across the body, then extending the leg in a linear fashion toward the target, while flexing the abdominals. The two common impact points in sidekicks are the heel or the outer edge of the foot, with the heel is more suited to hard targets such as the ribs, stomach, jaw, temple and chest. When executing a side kick with the heel, the toes should be pulled back so that they only make contact the heel and not with the whole foot as striking with the arch or the ball of the foot can injure the foot or break an ankle.

Effect: A kick that targets a single opponent at +0 accuracy and does 12 damage * strength modifier. On a successful hit, the target is launched back and can hit a second target of the user's choice (must be declared, otherwise it is randomly rolled from ALL targets besides self) at -4 accuracy and for 13 damage. If both targets are hit, both targets are considered to be prone and would lose 1 action as they use the action to stand back up. if only the first target is struck, neither suffer from the secondary effect.
Back Kick: Also referred to as a donkey kick, mule kick, horse kick or turning back kick. This kick is directed backwards, keeping the kicking leg close to the standing leg and using the heel as a striking surface. In wushu, this kick is called the "half-moon" kick but involves the slight arching of the back and a higher lift of the leg to give a larger curvature. It is often used to strike opponents by surprise when facing away from them.

Effect: Attacks a single target at -4 accuracy for 27 damage * strength modifier. +1 critical range.
Axe Kick: In Japanese, kakato-geri or kakato-otoshi; in Korean, doki bal chagi or naeryeo chagi or "chikka chagi". In Chinese, "pigua tui" or "xiapi tui". An axe kick, also known as a hammer kick or stretch kick, is characterized by a straightened leg with the heel descending onto an opponent like the blade of an axe. It begins with one foot rising upward as in a crescent kick then the upward arc motion is stopped and then the attacking foot is lowered to strike the target from above. The arc can be performed in either an inward (counter-clockwise) or outward (clockwise) fashion.

Effect: Effect: Attacks a single target at +4 accuracy for 23 * strength modifier. The user suffers -4 dodge to the next attack and taking critical damage if they are hit.
Butterfly Kick The butterfly kick is done by doing a large circular motion with both feet in succession, making the combatant airborne. There are many variations of this kick. The kick may look like a slanted aerial cartwheel and at the same time, the body spins horizontally in a circle. It begins as a jump with one leg while kicking with the other, then move the kicking leg down and the jumping leg up into a kick, landing with the first kicking leg, all while spinning. This kick involves also the arching the back backwards when airborne to give a horizontal body with high angled legs to the horizontal. First practiced in Chinese martial arts, the butterfly kick, or "xuan zi", is widely viewed as ineffective for actual combat. However, its original purpose was to evade an opponent's floor sweep and flip to the antagonist's exposed side or it may be used as a double aerial kick to an opponent standing off to the side. It is now widely used in demonstrative wushu forms (taolu) as a symbol of difficulty. Also note the similarity in execution when compared to an ice skating maneuver known as a flying camel spin.

Effect: This is an attack that protects the user from having their legs swept. Auto-success attempting to evade a leg sweep attack. In addition this attack strikes a single target twice at 0 accuracy for 10 damage * strength modifier.
Calf Kick This strike is a low roundhouse kick that hits the backside of the calf with the shin. While a Calf Kick sacrifices range in comparison to a standard low roundhouse kick to the thigh, the Calf Kick can't be checked with a knee or grabbed with an arm making it a safer kick for a striker in MMA matches vs opponents capable of checking low kicks or grapplers looking for takedown opportunities.

Effect: This attack cannot be blocked. Performed at +0 accuracy, this attack targets a single opponent for 15 damage * strength modifier. On a full hit, there is a 10% chance that the opponent suffers from the sprained secondary effect where they suffer a -1 to their dodge for the next 3 rounds.
Crescent Kick: In Japanese, mikazuki Geri; in Korean, bandal chagi (반달 차기). The crescent kick, also referred to as a "swing" kick, has some similarities to a hook kick and is sometimes practiced as an off-target front snap kick. The leg is bent like the front kick, but the knee is pointed at a target to the left or right of the true target. The energy from the snap is then redirected, whipping the leg into an arc and hitting the target from the side. This is useful for getting inside defenses and striking the side of the head or for knocking down hands to follow up with a close attack. In many styles of T'ai chi ch'uan and Kalaripayattu, crescent kicks are taught as tripping techniques. When training for crescent kicks, it is common to keep the knee extended to increase the difficulty. This also increases the momentum of the foot and can generate more force, though it takes longer to build up the speed. In this case, it serves as a tripping technique.

Effect: Attacks a single target at +4 accuracy for 10 damage. On a full hit, there is a 30% chance that the opponent is tripped, knocked prone. They lose their next action as a result.
The descriptions for many of these moves have been shamelessly taken from wikipedia. However the numbers are unique to this community.

The first fight was terrible and Opeila tried not to watch it. But how could she not watch, when it was her boyfriend, who fought there?
The fear of something happening to Percival fought against the selfish desire to spare herself of the sight of what was likely going to be her fate as well, resulting in her forcing herself to watch and pressing her eyes shut whenever someone landed a hit. This was sick, this was just so sick...

She needed a while to realize that her number had been called. Her eyes had locked onto a stain of blood in the ring. Opeila was no fighter. At least not physical. In magical fights, she could probably stand a chance, but not when it came to throwing punches. Althought- one thing punching Jack Warren taught her. She would never put her thumb into the fist again.

She frowned a little when Victor said that the girls held a special place in his heart. Was he going to tell some sort of sentimental story now? Opeila's face dropped, when he started about her and Vladimir. Said that they had been a thing.
The Slytherin felt really sick now. She started to understand what Victor was playing. He had before acted like this was a show. Meaningless really. And he was mking a show of it.

It was then that she understood that Victor's words could get her killed. Her house would happily tear her apart for what she did.
Opeila hid behind the others when entering the ring, she would not have anyone behind her. If Victor continued, she would not risk it.

And he did continue. He blamed her for Rafael's stupid robbery plan, that she had not known of until it happened. Angrily she clenched her fists. She needed to have a word with D'Spacito. This was crossing the borders of her acceptance.

But when she entered, his words caused her to pale. He really wanted her dead...
He told them about Opeila letting Vladimir into the common room. The one crime she couldn't defend herself against really. She had been dumb and naive.

Still, she forced herself to take a deep breath and calm down. She would not let this boy turn her house against her.
"Time to get back to the ground, don't you think?" Her voice was calm and steady. Good. As if his words didn't matter to her.
"As I told 'your boi' Vladimir before, I had no hand in you being robbed. I didn't know of the existance of that plan until it happened.
Second point. We never were a thing. He was the one sending me strange loveletters, asking me out. It was him and him only. I accepted his invitation to the ball so I could ask him questions, that is all.
And I only let him into the common room because he helped me carrying my books after my bag broke. A stupid coincidence!
Stories that you are twisting up now."

Opeila got back her self-control, and her face showed nothing but anger, maybe fear of the fight that was to come. She did not look at the crowd even once. This story was for them, but she did not make any more effort to convince them, as she feared that it would make her words less believable. If they decided to not believe her, then there would be no way for her to convince them. So she looked at Victor.

This was absolutely fucked up. This was insane. Inhumane. Especially when kids were involved. Some decided to fight one another. Some decided against it and went their own way. It should phase anyone who watched this unfold, but ... Nico only stared and looked away when/if things got too gruesome. They were stuck. Like rats. Nervously, her eyes darted around at the crowd. Who were they? What brought them here?

They were... placing bets? Gambling?

The dhampir couldn't think much. The noise that echoed over them was too much for her to filter out. Her hands trembled but she ignored it. Clenching them gently, pressing against her sides. They were going to be put in groups and she still wasn't sure who was with her. Frankly, she really didn't want to know. She had to run. To go somewhere away from this. All... this.

But her wish wouldn't be fulfilled. Victor announced the groups and soon Nico came to realise that she was put together with ... her. Lucky for Opeila, Nico was pretty well mannered and didn't spit on the floor everytime she'd say her name. But oh boi, if she wasn't... For the entire time that the group before them fought (or didn't), the prefect tried to ignore the fact that the girl was there. They were in a group together. Big fricking deal. Aslong as she didn't have to talk to her, things would be fine. Why did she end up in this situation. The very thing she had been trying to avoid for a few months now. Ever since the Abandoned Bathrooms.

During the last fight, Nico was sorta forced to get closer to the ring. She didn't want to. (If there were blood) She didn't want to smell blood. Not from her peers, not here for whatever cause this was supposed to be. From this distance, Victors face was more clear than before. It was disturbing looking. What fricking happened to him? One hand reached to her elbow as she held it nervously, lightly digging her nails in her skin, reminding her that this was all real. Where did things go wrong? What did she miss? It clung onto her throat, this fear of an odd guilt that chased her around, wherever she went. The dark goo that seemingly had filled many places of her mind.

However. Nico hadn't any idea of which answers she'd soon receive. A very... important one. Victor started to talk about a weird relationship Opeila apparantly had with this... Vladimir. Standing in the furthest back of their group, the dhampir kept an eye on the back of the girls head. What the fuck did she hold back from her? Was her first impression of this slytherin true after all? That she was more than rude? A... danger to their House.

"If you win this date with Vlad, don't bring him back to our common room. Snakes and birds should never mix."

There it was. It hit Nico like a jet fighter breaking the sound barrier. At first, Nico just looked at her confused, letting the words echo over and over into her head. This... This girl had been calling her out for being bad at her job. Even wrote her a letter about it. Rubbing it in her nose how Nico was clearly bad at what she did and the blame was on her whenever she butted in. Basicly. Accused her of not being to control herself around wounded students even... That's the fun mix of drama you get for being a dhampir and a Prefect. This was beyond hilarious. The sensation that filled her was beyond what she had ever expected to experience in her life. And at this young age.

'What...?' A weird smile slid up onto her lips. Her eyes were starting to have a piercing red dot in the middle of her eyes. They hadn't been this bright before. One would think they were glowing. 'Haha... What.. What the fuck is up with that?' Foul language. Where did she learn it? From tv most likely. Maybe from her peers whenever they couldn't get a homework to finish with a passing grade in her dorm, for example. These kind of words only slipped out when she... felt an intense rage. 'That's.. a fucking joke, right?'

Image posted by the member

As her rage grew, she could barely hear Opeilas weak words to justifiy her crimes. Something snapped inside the dhampir and Nico could barely hold it back. 'You're so full of shit... And an incredible idiot... You nearly killed your entire House... You're not even apologising for it...' Red tears welled up in her eyes again, slowely rolling down her cheeks. 'How fucking dare you critisize me... Look at what you fucking did. Did you really think no one would ever know?' Tired, scared, filled with adrenaline. The marks on her body started to tingle, her mind making her think the spiders were back. Back to bite her into insanity. Nico shrugged it off and stood her ground, crying with that wicked weird smile on her face. 'You're the absolute worst...'

Panic. Hot panic laying in her stomach like a heavy stone. Suddenly Opeila was certain that she would not survive this day. It would be her own house now, that would make sure of that.
They would make her pay. For a stupid, so stupid coincidence.

Nico's voice hit her like a blade. The rage that was not yet visible, but clearly about to break out of the girl. Of the dhampir. Nico's rage took her back a few months ago, where she was found by this dhampir boy. After cutting her hand.
She had felt like standing in front of a predator. She had been standing in front of one. And it was that rage, that first reminded Opeila, that the prefect was as well the predator in this game. That she had to be careful.

Too bad, that her emotions had killed this instinct back then. And did it again now.
The girl had the nerves to act like it was all Opeila's fault. Like it was a crime of her to hold it back. Ask for an apology. "Is that what you want? An apology? I am sorry. For being the one who was at the wrong place at the worst time possible.
Do you actually think that I am responsible? That he wouldn't have let him in if I wasn't there? Or Marion?"
She nodded in Victor's direction. Her voice was still very calm, only her clenched fists to her sides and the fact that she was trembling, showed the panicattack that was about to break through the surface. "As for the almost killing our house, thank you very much, I am very aware that he almost did that. Let's not forget that it wasn't me who placed those spiders in our common room. And that I got bit as well, so stop talking like I only damaged everyone else, I got to feel that myself!" The fingers of her left hand clenched around the fabric of her trousers, pulled up the left leg a few inches, just enough for the black colour to show.

She had to calm down. No one would kill her. No one would kill her. A thought that was erased as soon as she looked into Nico's bright red eyes. They would kill her. Nico would probably kill her herself...

"Very bold of you to assume that I tried to hide it from everyone. Actually even the Professors know. Likely more than the one I told by now.", she said when Nico asked her if she thought that no one would find out.
Something seemed to heat up inside her, beyond her fear. It was weird, how the self hatred had consumed her for weeks. But how it only took someone to agree with it to wake her instinct to defend herself. Think rationally. Something that she thought that she had done all along, but she had not. It made her angry how easy the dhampir made it for herself. How easy it was, to unbury old grudges and form a pile of accusation. Make Opeila the perfect villain. It made Opeila angry.

But she forced herself not to scream at her. Not to hyperventilate. Not to cry.
"You hate me for different reasons then what this... jerk just told in twisted words. You know exactly that it is stupid to put the blame for this on me. Someone who is capable to organize an attack on a house like he did would not rely on coincidences.
You might be a lot of things but I don't think that you are stupid. Now just stop pretending and say what your anger is actually about, I am tired of this."

How much she wanted to tell this girl to pull herself together and grow up. To have the guts to talk to her instead of controlling every event Opeila did, instead of murdering her with looks.
Opeila even sent her a letter, explaining her thoughts, asking the prefect to talk to her to get rid of this conflict and never got an answer.

She couldn't help but find the older girl to be one of the most childish people she had ever met.
It was only because of her teeth and the red colour of her eyes that Opeila did not push any further.

It only got better. Opeila really was oblivious to anything she did. It was clear she never thought about the consequences that would follow certain things she did.

'Funny that only now you suddenly know how to talk properly... It also shows how little shits you give about properly apologising to someone... If you call that an apology then you really are stupider than you look...' The dhampir chuckled, her shoulders shaking with every sound. After a deep exhale, her expression became blank. Her eyes fixated on the Slytherin culprit. Her voice cold and collected. 'It's never your fault... is it? It's always someone elses. You never think of your actions. You blurt out everything that comes up in your mind without thinking about how the others feel. You only think of yourself.'

The redhead wasn't sure how the others would watch this scene unfold, but she wasn't worried about them. As far as she knew, they weren't the ones who straight up said she sucked at her job. The only one whoever did (except Dan) was her. Opeila. 'Sure... Blame it on Victor. It's easy to do that now, isn't it? Now that he cornered us in this arena somewhere in the middle of London and he speaks of murder... I'm not fucking blind to all this. It's fucked up. That all this is insane. Don't fucking spell me lessons, little girl. Back then when we faced Victor, I only wanted to help. I wanted to do my job. I could've given you detention back then. But I didn't. Cuz I doubted myself. Cuz it was me against the lot of you...In the end I'm just a student like the rest of you. Only I have certain duties and responsibilities. And when someone fucks up... Guess who gets blamed for not doing their job? Me. Us. The Prefects. DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW THAT FUCKING FEELS?!' The last bit she screamed at her. Nico didn't care about talking civil. It was way too late for that. 'Ofcourse you don't. You're selfish. You only see what you want to see and use it against others... As for the spider incident, you only got what you deserved. That's what you get.'

Opeila mentioned she talked to Professors. Yeah. No shit. Nico didn't mean the Professors. Nico meant her peers. 'Holy fuck. Hahaha! I don't care that you stepped to some professors to tell some onesided story. I'm talking about the ones around you! LOOK AT THEM!' Nico spread her arms wide, turning some half circles to vaguely point at everyone present. 'I'm pretty sure you never apologised to them either. You were a part of this damage. I don't fucking care that you got hurt. I once did care. But I definitely don't anymore.'

Opeila wasn't saving her case. She had no idea how close she was to getting physically hurt. Oh. She was pretending? The bright red flickered out. The tension in her voice was gone. And Nico smiled warmly at Opeila. 'Oh... I'm so sorry. I don't know what came over me...' With a light but steady step Nico walked up to Opeila. Upon her face, her signature soft smile was draped. Her blue eyes smiled at the young first year who had no idea who she was actually dealing with. 'I sure hope I didn't hurt your feelings. That's the last thing I want...' Stupid girl... In less than a second, the red in her eyes was lit once again. It nearly looked like her eyes were blazing red now, her hand grabbing onto the collar of Opeilas shirt. '... How is this for pretending?' She'd finally say with a calm and cold voice. With a fast motion, Nico slid her claw over Opeilas face.

Claws
The fingernails of a dhampir reflect the claws of a vampire and the rounded fingernails of a human. They grow faster than the average human’s and are more pointed. They are not sharp, coming to dull points. They are also far more deeply rooted than a normal fingernail, and far stronger.

Effect: In addition to gaining the bite skill, they also gain the claw skill. Much like the bite, the vampire digs their claws into a target using their accuracy against their opponent's evasion. Rather than gain some of what the opponent has lost, the opponent continues to bleed from the deep wounds the Dhampir can inflict with their dull claws, losing an additional 5% of the total damage done by the attack each round for 4 rounds. This takes 1 full action to perform.

The blonde-haired prefect began walking slowly to the ring when her number was called, keeping her eyes forward as to not see any blood that might have been on the ground. Her poor boots... But she'd rather her boots have blood and grime on them than her feet, she supposed.

Koko was a bit further away from Nico and Opeila, watching quietly from the sidelines, one might say. She was aware she wasn't really in the sidelines; rather, she was going to have to fight. While Koko wasn't quite sure what she was fighting for, she knew her dignity would be included, and maybe, just maybe, this was a chance to prove herself and her abilities.

Koko narrowed her eyes at the other people - not just Nico and Opeila, but also Victor, the other team, and those watching. Were they... Were they placing bests on the abilities of children? Idiots. Surely they understood that Koko - and the others, yes - was a child?

Well, she was technically a teenager now. Nevertheless, the girl felt hot rage bubbling up inside her. How dare they.

Nico's angry words nearly made her snap and yell back at her fellow prefect, but when she realised what Nico was saying, she stalled. Common Room. A tickling sensation came over her arm, and she was suddenly extremely glad she'd pulled her hoodie over her head earlier. The thick fabric might actually come in handy, she thought; it might soften blows should anyone choose to attack her.

Now, she didn't really believe that, but hey, what could she do but try to comfort herself?

"You're the absolute worst."

Koko's eyes widened. While she wanted to stand up for Opeila, she had to wonder... Was Nico telling the truth? Was it all Opeila's fault? Would Koko forever hate spiders because of the little Slytherin near her? The prospect scared her, nearly as much as the daggers of ice in Nico's tone. It would be much better to agree with a Dhampir than to go against one, Koko reasoned, and she smiled gravely as she cleared her throat.

"Goodness, Opeila," Koko began, a thin layer of ice coating her words as she tried to keep them emotionless. "You absolute prat. I can't believe you dated such a knobhead... And to help him try to get us all killed?" She laughed, a dry, bitter sound. "You're lucky we're on the same team," Koko finished, her voice grim.

As she stood there, watching with her arms crossed, she smirked. She'd missed the feeling of power, missed being able to exert it without feeling like one of the people she hated. Koko finally understood it. Why not use power if it'll help you? Why not push someone else down just to climb up, up, up...

"She's right," Koko agreed, gesturing vaguely to Nico. "Have you got any idea of the utter guilt that fills us, the guilt that comes from the fact that we could have done better. That maybe, we weren't doing what we were supposed to. That maybe, somehow, we're more of a liability than something that can help." There was fire behind her words now, but not strong enough to melt the ice. Something had welled up inside her, perhaps fuelled by the stress of the situation, and Koko was merely reacting to that.

She stayed quiet, however, when Nico moved closer to Opeila. Her voice caught in her throat as something felt as if it was going to twist in her gut, and she bit back a scream, letting out a muffled whimper instead. Oh goodness, the Slytherin thought, suddenly sickened.

Taking a small step forward, yet still keeping her distance, Koko shoved her hands in her pocket, glad to find her wand resting there. Even if she couldn't attack someone with magic, she could possibly poke their eyes with her wand, which admittedly would be useful. "Nico," Koko said, "While I'm not happy with her choices, she's sort of on our team... And we sort of have less people," she reminded the Dhampir softly, taking her hands out of her pocket and raising them in a 'don't shoot' gesture. "I want to win this."

There was dread curling in Dealla's stomach, twisting, radiating a sickening feeling through her body into even the tips of her fingers, as she stepped into the ring. She didn't want to be here. She didn't care about talking to Vladimir, and cared even less about the fight ahead.

If not for the realisation she had had earlier, she would have probably forfeited and left on the spot, but now... she couldn't. Every single part of her protested against just leaving and giving Vladimir what he wanted. She could only hope that she had reached some people in the other groups, the ones that would come after her, that someone had listened to what she had said to Ileen and Cash. She doubted it, but she hoped anyway.

The sick feeling in her stomach only spread when she listened to the announcements. She didn't pick up on the implications of what was being said, but it was obvious what the words did to the girls in the other group, tensions rising and snapping.
Still - if the other group was busy between themselves, this might be her chance to talk to her team mates before anyone started fighting. Adonis was in her team, that was a small relief. At least one person she knew a little, after spending a few weeks together in the same tent. He'd always seemed level-headed, more like a peace-maker than a fighter, from what she'd seen.

Then there was Cash, who had come up to her earlier, apparently with an eerie instinct that they were in the same group, but even that gave her a bit of comfort. Cash hadn't seemed happy about the fight, had called it barbaric.
The other two boys, however, were unknown variables.

"We shouldn't fight," she said, loud enough that her teammates should hear her, while trying to keep her voice steady as she watched Nico and Opeila on the other side of the ring. There was a terrifying tension there, one that sent goosebumps up Dealla's arms. "That's what they want." She gestured at the audience around them. "That's what Vladimir wants." Her hands clenched into fists. "I don't want to be manipulated by them, led around to fight for their pleasure. I don't want to be their puppet." She could taste bile in her mouth as she spoke, her eyes never leaving the four girls of the other group. Nico seemed to be losing her control as she shouted at Opeila.
"But I want Vladimir to lose," she continued, her voice breaking on the last word. "For all of this. For what happened to me and my friends in the Forbidden Forest, for the spiders in your common room." She'd heard about the incident, of course, even if she didn't know the details of it.

"And to make that happen, whoever gets to fight him has to be at full strength. We can't fight here. The others can't fight. Not if we want to beat him." Dealla shivered, rubbing her arms, not from the temperature, but from the situation. "It doesn't matter who gets to face him, as long as he loses."

She snapped her mouth shut after the last words had come out, hoping with every fiber of her being that she had reached them. Because if she couldn't even convince her team mates, how was there any hope of reaching the opposing team?

Nico and Opeila had given her something to fix her eyes on, to keep her steady, their discussion separate from the problems of the current situation - or so she had thought. When Nico reached out to claw Opeila's face, her eyes widened, and she took an involuntary step forward, one hand raised. Her mouth opened, stunned, but no words came out.
She hadn't thought she'd have to convince groups not to fight in between themselves, too.

Being a spectator to a brawl between his fellow classmates made him have mixed feelings. Yes, some of the brats on that floor deserved it, yet there was some kind of unease about all of it. Who in the right mind would create such a barbaric event, and what kind of person even enjoyed this? well, a lot from the looks of things. The people in the crowd cheered and passed around money for bets on the fighters while the next batch of kids wondered over to the ring.

Percy entered the fighting area with his clothes still on, other than his shoes which he had taken off before coming out. All he could do was stand there and take the relentless jeers of the crowd towards him and his teammates. Luckily, all this wasn't new. He was always prone for someone insulting his upbringing and it wasn't anything different from anything else. Percy folded his arms and looked over to Victor, who appeared to be making a great speech. To say the least, there was nothing great about what he said at all, other than an awkward set of sentences that didn't seem to set well with the pompous crowd. Although, the last thing he said actually had venom, something that would cause a killer chain reaction on the opposite team. Opelia had well and truly been thrown under the bus.

The words alone almost made Nico snap immediately, a pressure that had been bubbling upwards for a very long time. If Opeila had well and truly did what was indicated she would most definitely have blood on her hands, and it wouldn't be anyone else's but hers. Percy on the hand didn't know what to think of it. He only had very little knowledge on the event, and things only seemed to be more of a riddle from what the pair said to each other.

He turned his attention from the arguing pair and watched Victor, who seemed to enjoy the trouble he created. He always had a bad feeling about that kid ever since he let him go in the toilets, a decision that was now deeply regretted "I should of trusted my instincts instead of letting your sorry state escape from the toilets Victor..." he shouted over to the boy with a sudden grin on his lips, one that could be described as devious "Next time i'll make sure not to make the same mistake!" he added before looking at the restless crowd around him "And I suggest to keep away from speeches, you'd make a lion fall to sleep in seconds" ended the boy as he looked back to the heated pair.

Delia Prince, the only girl present in his group decided to speak up on the matter. She was one of many that didn't want to fight and be manipulated, and to be fair Percy didn't blame her. He didn't want this either, but if it meant getting answers their was no other choice. However, she did raise a good point. If they could somehow convince or beat the other team without getting hurt it would mean they could face Vladimir at full strength. But, it was going to be hard even doing this in the middle of a fight. He looked down to his teammates and noticed they were keeping an eye on the commotion too. With an extension of his arm to the right he indicated for no one to go over to them, attempting to keep them put and let the fight take place within the enemy ranks "Whatever happens, let them have it out. We do not want to risk our health to a petty dispute..." he said while lowering his eyes, almost knowing himself it was wrong in a way. When he looked back up a clawed hand was already raised and coming down onto the wimpy Opelia, looking to have first blood on her teammate

Adonis was only compliant due to the fact that he was logical, but he was definitely fighter though. His preference in fighting was his wand though. Either way, he still wouldn't back down, whether he had his wand or not. He had a very competitive and proud spirit. The Slytherin boy was just prepared for whatever was to come next. As much as he loved to compete, he didn't want to duke it out like this. They were clearly being used by Victor and would only hurt themselves much more than they could Vladimir at the end. It was worthless almost to even get into this.

He furrowed his brows as Opeila and Nico suddenly got into it with each other, going back and forth with in a clearly emotion-filled argument until Nico attempted to claw at Opeila's face. "Oh shi-" Adonis hadn't expected that to happen but it was luckily to his teams benefit if both teams did choose to fight. Although, he hoped they would listen to what Dealla had to say and back down, hoping that one of them would go unscathed onto the next round to face Victor. He nodded in agreement at Percival's words. "He's got a point even if it is messed up but it's true though. Could probably help our argument too because we would be the healthier team if anything." He said with a low voice so that only his teammates could hear while shrugged.
