The Watchers

Never before had many of these students seen so many people, nevermind wizards in the same place. Quidditch was one of those games that simply brought people together. It was a past time and a diversion that game people not just entertainment but also hope. Aspects that many people valued were seen in Quidditch players, physical prowess, a keen eye, speed, endurance, team work, friendship. Hogwarts had reserved a block of seat on the second level near the center of the pitch, they were excellent seats all things considered. Low risk that a quaffle would find a student or Professor's face and they could see the whole field form a neutral vantage point.Time: Sunset
Weather: Warm, the day was oppressively hot and the sky was clear. Despite it being sunset, the air still feels sticky warm but it is much cooler than it has been the entire day.
Likely there were a few adults present, but they would be grossly outnumbered by the students. A vendor was selling candy and snacks. "Treaats! Snaaaacks! Get your crunchy caramel and your sticky sweets. Ginger News, Chocolate Frogs!" It was hard to hear the announcer, the crowd was fired up and so were some of the students. A few of the adults present would attempt to explain the basics of the game, not every child was gifted in the area of sports and not every child was a fan of this bloody, dangerous sport.
Durmstrang had secured seats nearby. It was not an intended pairing (in character) but it was if nothing else an opportunity to mingle but it was also a recipe for disaster. A loud-mouthed student or an aggressive teen and a friendly game could turn into a melee. Some of the adults (faceless NPC chaperone) would smile at the rival school and wish them a 'good game'. 'Best of luck.' 'heard good things about your Seeker.' Positive statements that they hoped would catch on.

The sun was beginning to set making Dymphna’s blonde hair shine almost golden in the sunset. She was able to get a decent spot near the front but her Omnioculars would come in handy. Unfortunately she didn’t think from the distance of the seats to the field that her friends would be able to see her sign. There were little drawings of Quidditch supplies surrounding the words GO HUFFLEPUFF! She wasn’t the best artist but it would do. Once they won, she would celebrate by showing them and maybe taking everyone out for ice cream.
While unity between Wizarding schools was important, Dymphna hadn’t actually met anyone from Durmstrang that she liked. Perhaps it was the wariness towards strangers but she preferred to stick with her fellow students lately, especially those she knew she could trust already. Her cousins might even be around somewhere, chatting amongst the other Hogwarts staff. With the sign she made tucked away under her seat, she eagerly awaited on the edge of her seat for her Hufflepuff friends to make their way onto the field. After the April match when he wrote to her that he’d been injured, Dymphna would keep an extra eye out for Reid.

The sun was beginning to set, casting a beautiful golden glow onto the Quidditch Pitch; Amadea was unsure if this would be helpful or harmful to the players but from a spectating point of view, it looked beautiful.
Quidditch never was - and never would be - one of Amadea's passions. Flying through the air on a broom that you could easily fall off of did not seem like fun to Amadea, rather it seemed like a good way to break some bones. Even just spectating matches spiked her anxiety as she watched the players zip around while giant balls flew around in the air. Perhaps it was because she was a Muggle born, but Amadea didn't understand the appeal of Quidditch. Of course, that didn't stop her from coming to this game. She knew that people were going to be talking about it for a long time after, and for fear of missing out more than anything else, Amadea was here. Plus, it was her own House that was competing against Durmstrang, so she felt like she had to show some House spirit and show up.
Amadea was decked out in all of her Hufflepuff apparel. She had built up quite a stock of Hufflepuff gear from her first three years of attending Hogwarts and she spared no detail when dressing for the game. Amadea scanned the crowd, looking for anyone familiar to sit with. It seemed like all of the Durmstrang students had crowded in their own section, which was fine with Amadea. She had only met a few of them and from what she could tell, they were all terrifying. Amadea's gaze finally landed on a familiar face, Dymphna Teague, fellow third year - oh god, were they fourth years now, Amadea thought to herself - and slowly becoming one of Amadea's friends.
She made her way over to the Ravenclaw and sat down next to her. "Hi Dymphna," she said with a smile. "Nice sign!" Now that Amadea was here, she wondered if she should have brought a sign of her own. She hoped that her Hufflepuff apparel would be enough to show her support.── ❋ ──

Quidditch was not always something that had held Elspeth's attention, but the prospect of a huge match in London against Durmstrang held her attention. That seemed like a once in a lifetime opportunity for a twelve year old. That was part of why she agreed to share a tent with her Hogwarts friends, even though it once again took her away from her home life with her father. And while there were still moments of sadness, the company of Leah and the others always brought her joy.
While she didn't know any Hufflepuffs in any considerable measure, they were a part of Hogwarts and she would support her school. And so wearing a transfigured scarf (to appear in Hufflepuff colors) and a black knitted sweater, she walked up into the stands to find her seat. There were so very many people, but she was able to see a certain blonde, along with another girl, from where she stood. "Hey Dymph!" she called out, waving. The older Ravenclaw had always been kind, helping the muggleborn to adjust to the magical world and she was eager to spend more time with her.
Stepping up into he row, she took a seat near to the part-veela. "Here, I brought some popcorn," she offered some to her friend and her companion. They had more magical treats in their tent, but Elspeth always liked having some handy muggle snacks with her. "I'm Elspeth," she waved lightly at the other older girl she did not know, hoping she wouldn't mind her tagging along. Adjusting the bobby pins in her hair, she expected the others would be along soon.

The heat of the day had been unbearable, and she had spent most of it in her tent out of the burning sun's rays. The outfit of the day her pjs not having even bothered changing out of the breathable shirt and cloth shorts and draped over one of the armchairs. Her head was resting against one of the arms using it as a pillow while her legs and raven tresses hung over the sides. In her lap had resided her copy of Moste Potente Potions and an herbology reference book. Time carried on, and when it got close enough for the game start, she would close her books and push herself off the chair. Walking across the tent space, she would gently ley them in her trunk and close the curtains around her cot.Interacting| -

She quickly threw on her Hogwarts shirt and denim shorts before sitting down and pulling on her new green boots emblazoned with an open-mouthed snake and the word Slytherin over the top. They weren’t Hufflepuff colors, but she was still showing pride in her school. She picked up a green helix clip that matched her shoes and placed it gently between her teeth before pulling up her hair. It started by being pulled up into a ponytail before being wrapped around the hand that held it into a messier bun. Securing the end of her hair with one of her fingers, she grabbed the helix clip and positioned it where the end of her bunned hair ended. A few twists of the clip were secured to her head and held the bun shape. There was no way she was going to let her hair stay on her neck in heat like today.
It should be no surprise to anyone that the next thing she grabbed before leaving her tent was her camera bag. You didn’t just go to an event like this without a camera if you owned one. It wouldn’t take her long to fall in line with the path of people heading towards the stadium, and once there, she would find a spot as to a rail as possible. It just wouldn’t do to have arms and heads in the bottoms of the photos.
Santario carefully extracted her camera from the bag and wrapped its red strap around her left arm before shifting her bag, so it rested on her lower back. She would start by taking photographs of all of the students in the stands, but when the teams began to come out, all of her focus and furious photo taking would be focused there.

The day had come. The real reason Aurelia attended summer camp. Of course, the activities and tents were attractive and all, but what she really wanted to do was watch the Quidditch match. She put on yellow eyeshadow and drew stripes of yellow and black on her cheeks. She wore a pale yellow t-shirt that said: "Go Hogwarts!" It was Hufflepuff playing out there, but more importantly, they represented Hogwarts. She also had a nice pair of muggle shorts on and yellow converse. She had bought the shoes specifically for the match, and she slightly missed staple red ones at the moment. In one hand, she had a small Hufflepuff flag and in the other her omniculars.
Happily, she bounced towards the stadium with all the Hogwarts students, she couldn't wait to see all the action that was promised. She had watched every Quidditch match at Hogwarts, but none would compare to this or even to the matches she had watched with her family. Quickly she took a seat and waited for her friends to come to join. Anxiously, she watched the Durmstrang students and wondered what they were thinking about. Durmstrang was known for their speed and precision but she was 100% sure Hufflepuff would win. She cheered loudly as the Quidditch players rushed into the stadium. One day, Aurelia dreamed to be in this stadium, soaring through the air for the English national team at the World cup.

Quidditch.
Wonderful, amazing Quidditch.
Today was the day of the Quidditch match.
Hufflepuff vs Durmstrang.
Rose saw that Auri was here, decked out in Hufflepuff colors. Ugh, Rose hadn't brought any fan stuff. She guessed Auri could advertise for both of them. "Hey Auri!" she yelled to get her friend's attention, pushing her way to her friend. "I'm glad I found you, the crowd is really big." she said awkwardly. "And I don't have any Hufflepuff or Hogwarts merch for some reason. I guess I could have worn my robes, buy it would have gotten hot in those, they're black," she confessed. I mean, in the summer she would live in a house with a Hufflepuff, how in the world did she not have at least a t-shirt?!
Anyway, Rose squirmed a little with anticipation. "I can't wait for ut to start," she said anxiously. Ahe had kinda put it on herself to find out who won for her Hufflepuff friend, Alina Rosier. Alina, unfortunately, couldn't come to camp, and though they had never really talked about Quidditch, Rose was ure the encouraging girl would love to be here to cheer on her housemates and Rose wanted to tell her that her team had won.

It was probably no surprise that Sylvain had already found his seat by the time the rest of the crowds started moving into the stadium. Ever the early riser, Sylvain had resolved on waking up extra-extra early to catch front row seats to the Worlds Game. Having reserved spots for some friends, Sylvain sat alone at the moment. Calm, copacetic, and smiling. Anyone who stopped to take the seat next to him learned that he was waiting for Flash Holmwood to show up. Soon enough he would arrive, and Sylvain would wave at him, emphatically shouting "Flash, up here!" until his attention was caught on Sylvain's location.
Perhaps it was fate, or perhaps it was some sort of manifest destiny. Regardless of the path that led to this day, Sylvain was over the top and excited to be in the stands supporting one of his best friends on the day of the big game. In the short time Willow and Sylvain had come to know one another, Syl found no shortage of confidence that she would have done the same if Flash or Syl had been on her broom. It was needless to say that Sylvain wasn't shy when it came to the love he shared for his friends. As Willow blew kisses to him and Flash, Sylvain winked back to let her know he caught them. The act of winking was only a little awkward for the boy, and probably not awkward at all for the All-Star Keeper.
The supportive lad wore Willow's friendship bracelet proudly, pulling it out from beneath his sleeve as he thought of the moment way back when in the greenhouse where they'd shared song and confessed to homesick feelings. Today, he was so proud of his friend that he was certain nobody would outshine his enthusiasm to support her, he'd be her most adamant fan, her most ardent supporter. Sylvain was going to be her one man hype squad. "WOOO, GO WILLOW, KNOCK EM DEAD, MAKE DUST OUTTA THOSE DURMSTANK BOYS!"
As the sun beat down, threatening to set, Sylvain slightly regretted wearing a hooded zip up sweatshirt to ward off the evening temperatures. As the temperature rose, so had his inclination to shed the outer layer of his outfit. There would always be the option to tie the sweater off around his waste, and reveal the blue tie and white shirt combo he'd picked for the momentous occasion, but for now the lad reluctantly decided to stay a bit uncomfortable. "Wished I'd grabbed a set of binoculars," he admitted aloud to himself, more than his friends. "Would've been great for keeping an eye on Willow."

The Watchers
Flash had awoken fresh and early, around 6AM as usual, and gone on his jog as always. Being in a tent without many distractions besides the pleasant distraction of books, he had been able to slowly chip away at a good deal of the anxiety that had started to eat away at him during his first school year. His brain was too engaged with the worlds in the stories to worry about what his family was going to think of him, if they would bother to think anything at all. That morning in particular, he was so excited that it had almost made it difficult to keep his breathing right during his exercise.
Of course he was excited, it was an amazing occasion. His dear sister Willow was on the world stage, and regardless of her success in the match itself, he was excited to watch and support her. The entire campground was abuzz with heightened energy, frothing with the delight of enjoyable tension. Flash could feel it like a thrumming through the massive gathered crowd as he started navigating the stands. It made him excited too, though his face held a small, calm-looking smile as usual.
He was glad to hear Sylvain’s voice calling out to him, having not been looking forward to scouring the section they chose for the particular seat he found himself in. Gently scooching past a few other knees of familiar students, he said hello a time or two on his way to the empty seat saved next to his forsworn companion for the evening.
Taking a seat with a sigh-- a breath of exasperated excitement-- Flash turned to Syl with a happy grin, having brought a small bag with him to share in a few small snacks, as well as a thermos of water so they wouldn’t become dehydrated. Also within was a pair of binoculars, an umbrella, and the book he was currently in the middle of, just in case there was a break in the game and he could tell Sylvain all about it.
”It’s good to see you, Syl.”
With little ado, the players started making their rounds around the stadium before the match began. Willow was as captivating as ever, finding the two of them in the stands and blowing them a kiss. Flash waved in return, putting his whole arm in the air to make sure she saw. He couldn't help but laugh reflectively, with so much joy surrounding him. He really needed something like this. He didn’t really care if Hogwarts won or not, though he was sure Willow would be a lot happier if they did. Sylvain, as well, seemed quite attached, even yelling out anti-Durmstrang sentiment.
”Are you a fan of Quidditch?” Flash was surprised he hadn’t asked yet, he really only knew that he was a fan of Willow’s.
He seemed terribly enthused for a casual observer, though it could have been his desire for Willow to win, perhaps some amount of school pride. For Flash, the appeal of Quidditch had to do with showing off teamwork and talent, and while he only watched one game, Willow certainly seemed talented. He was interested to see how kids from Durmstrang played as well, he couldn't say he made any effort to meet any of them, he just didn't have the social energy at that point. It was a bit of a missed opportunity, but it was better that he recoup for the time being.
Once Syl had mentioned the desire for binoculars, he felt a slight jump in his heart, the surge of serotonin he got when his preparedness paid off, and he gave someone exactly what they needed. An extremely good feeling, no less for it already being a good day. He fished the pair out of his bag and handed it over as thought Syl would be doing him a favor by taking them.
”I have a pair, we can share.”
How grand, how exciting!

Paisley walked along through the concessions, eyeing the different trinkets, wares and treats being sold. She already knew that she wasn’t going to be buying any jerseys or Quidditch wear, but a refreshment of some sort would definitely hit the spot. So, she lined up and waited her turn. When she got to the counter she ended up buying some popcorn and a nice, large pop. With treats in tow she headed up to the Hogwarts reserved seats, scanning the site before deciding to sit up further from where the other students were already chatting away.
She watched the players fly out from their lockers, zipping and zooming around the sky and waving and grinning like madmen and women. The Bellweather herself had never been a big fan of Quidditch, though her father had been something of a fanatic. It had been interesting, to see her normally docile and gentle dad turn into a hooting and hollering sports guy. They had yearly parties centered around the professional Quidditch championship where her father’s friends from the ministry would go over to their house and sit down to watch on the telly. They’d have little finger foods and drinks and they would trade cards like they were back in Hogwarts. It felt a bit weird to her that she wasn’t going to be there for it this coming year, but there would be some give for her to gain experiences. She popped some popcorn in her mouth, munching quietly as she waited for the match to begin.
