Summer was finally here and to say the tent’s residents were at least somewhat excited for a change of pace was an understatement to say the least. So excited in fact that the tent was rather ordinary in comparison to the efforts some others had put into their tents. The tent itself was located as close as possible to where the group planned to have their meals, largely down to Callie’s insistence that staying nearby to the food was of the utmost importance. Decorations within the tent were relatively minimal excluding a few strings of lights Callie had taken the time to hang up upon arrival. In the area closest to the tent door sat a table able to house much more people than what inhabited the tent, even if a few of the chairs had been repurposed elsewhere.
Scattered across the table was a deck of cards with sweetie wrappers occasionally occupying small piles across the surface. Stacked nearby the table was a couple of boardgames and a small box filled with various sugary treats. Towards the back of the tent lay a screen to provide an area to change with a paper dragon sitting perched on the very top of the screen. Despite the tent having ten beds currently only three lay occupied which provided the perfect opportunity to create the mountain of pillows within what appeared to be a fort of some description. The fort itself was constructed of a few chairs hidden beneath sheets they’d commandeered from a couple of the empty bunks. Overall the tent was rather basic and its inhabitants hadn’t done much to make their own mark on the area besides construct a pillow fort to end all pillow forts.

Madness In The Streets
3rd of July
Prior to the BBQ
Callie had never thought of herself as the finest builder known to man but the sheer quality of the pillow fort she'd constructed had forced her to reconsider such things. The craftsmanship of this particular pillow fort was among the very finest and to Callie ought to be considered as the eight wonder of the world. Great Wall of China? Bah! Great Pyramids of Giza? Pathetic! This pillow fort? Glorious! Revolutionary! Simply groundbreaking! Until the roof decided to cave in and swiftly brought Callie back down to reality and she re-branded herself as merely talented as apposed to extraordinary in the art of constructing pillow forts. The setback of the pillow fort's roof deciding to cave in was nothing more than a temporary inconvenience - Callie was going to make sure of it!
Callie clambered up onto one of the spare bunks with her tongue sticking out the side of her mouth as a sign of her determination to fix her masterpiece. The fallen sheet which made up the roof trailed behind her and tumbled to the floor when it slipped from Callie's grasp the second she reached the top. "Darn it!" The young girl exclaimed as she found herself forced to repeat the entire process once she retrieved the rogue sheet. Her tongue slipped back out of the left side of her mouth as she tied the sheet to the bedpost and ran across to the opposite side to repeat the process on a different bunk.
When the task was complete Callie stood up on the top of the bunk with her hands on her hips, admiring the fruits of her labour with pride. "Perfect!" She exclaimed with a wide grin on her face before she lost her footing and tripped over, sending her flying into the middle of the roof and plummeting onto the pillows below - breaking the roof in the process. Instead of lamenting the loss of the roof and cursing the cruelty of fate for destroying her masterpiece, Callie simply burst out laughing as she lay flat in the pillow mound. The fort may not have had a roof but at least it was comfy!
