Through the night
Lizzie wandered around camp, trying to find her tent. Her best friend, Lindsey, had already found some tent mates by the time the redhead had decided to attend camp, so she'd ended up in a tent with some other kids in her year, who she didn't know. Her tentmates were going to end up her friends though, she was sure of it. There was no way she could spend a month or two living in the same space as some others and not form some sort of friendship. She looked forward to meeting them.
Once she spotted the tent, she nearly face-palmed at how long it had taken her to find it. With the flowers and chairs in front of the entrance, the tent stood out from the others. She took a second to admire the aesthetic of it, before taking a deep breath and heading inside. Sure, she was a little nervous to meet her tent mates --what if they were mean?-- but she did her best to push those negative thoughts to the back of her mind.
She froze as she took her first step into her home for the duration of camp. With fairy lights twinkling from the rafters, soft carpet, a pillow fort, and a table with comfy-looking chairs, the tent looked like the bedroom every child wanted. "Woah~" she breathed, awestruck. The more she looked around, the more in love she was. The beds' blankets even matched the color scheme! "Whoever designed this is a genius," she said aloud, to no one in particular, seeing as it didn't look like any of her tentmates were there yet.
Although she had never been particularly interested in interior design, the artist in her loved the way all the colors looked together and just the aesthetic in general. I need to paint this, she thought, mentally running through the various art supplies she'd brought with her to camp to make sure she'd brought her paints. Usually, she preferred to do pencil and charcoal drawings, but that wasn't to say that she didn't like painting or any other drawing mediums. Except for watercolor. She hated watercolor with a burning passion.
Eventually, she realized she had been just standing in the entranceway, and she quickly moved to the middle of the tent, kneeling down to admire how soft the rug was. She probably looked like a weirdo, just sitting there feeling the rug, but it was a really soft rug. So soft she could sleep on it and it would be more comfortable than a mattress.
Her brain screamed at her to lie down on it, and so she did, her arms and legs splayed out like she was making a snow angel. "So soft~" she muttered, her eyes slowly closing until she couldn't see the fairy lights any longer. The sounds of the world faded out and there was nothingness. She was asleep.

Alexis stepped in to the tent, bending herself a little to the small entrance. Even though she already knew it would be bigger on the inside, it still amazed her how big it actually is. The first thing she set her eyes on was the cozy looking pillow fort in the middle of the room, she noticed there was someone there. My tent mate!
She walked closer, keeping her footsteps light and quick. She came to a stop about two feet away from her, the girl was sleeping. Alexis was tempted to wake the girl up but stopped herself. She shrugged and turned away, taking in the decorations in the tent. The fairy lights gave the tent a soft and comforting look, it looked almost magical.
Her eyes settled on the beds surrounding her, they look so soft. It didn’t look like the anonymous girl had chosen her bed yet. She smirked. You snooze, you lose. I guess. She set her trunk at the end of the bed with sage green comforter. The colour is so pleasing to the eyes.
Alexis laid down onto the bed, letting her back pressed against the fluffy pillows and closed her eyes. She laid still for a moment before deciding to get up. She opened her trunk to find her sketch book and her novel. She loved doing concept art from the books she read. She loved putting her imagination into an artwork. She set everything down and started to read.

Lizzie awoke with a start, confusion clouding her mind at the unfamiliar surroundings. Where was she? How long had she been asleep? Why did she fall asleep? Then it dawned on her. She was at the summer camp, in her tent. In hindsight, it seemed so obvious. The carpet was really soft though. No wonder she'd fallen asleep on it.
Carefully, she eased herself to her feet, wincing as her knees cracked loudly. The tent really did look very aesthetic. She couldn't wait to meet whoever had decorated it. And her tentmates. Speaking of tentmates... As she looked around, she noticed a dark-haired girl sitting on one of the beds, engrossed in a book. One of her tentmates!
"Hi!" the redhead exclaimed, without a second thought. "I'm Lizzie, one of your tentmates, I guess." As soon as the words were out of her mouth, she regretted saying them. The girl probably didn't want to be disturbed from her book. Just like how Lizzie didn't want to be disturbed when she was drawing. She should've waited until the girl set down her book. No, then that would be weird, because what would she do until then? And she'd seem like she didn't want to talk since she'd obviously seen the dark-haired girl and... Whatever. There was no point in obsessing over it all. She'd already said the words, there was no taking them back now.
