Annoyed, Theodore stopped casting spells. The curse the blackhaired girl casted at him affected him too much to be a good duellant. Did a finite stop the effect of the curse? He wasn't sure, but if one of his teammates wasted a second to try it out, he would be very appreciative.

Staring down Mars, daring them to send a spell his way, Thomas was focused and ready to dodge whatever it was they cast at them. When their spell backfired, his concentration lapsed in favor of laughter, watching the wix dance to the beat of their very own drum. He remembered how humiliating it was to experience the Dancing Feet Jinx in front of peers, but rather than feel sympathy he just found amusement with the entire situation. "Serves you right, trying to jinx me," the young Ravenclaw retorted, undaunted by the threats of a curse Mars put out. He had survived the Forbidden Forest excursion, managing to not die in the face of fire and rabid dolls! No one his age could ever terrify him like that experience ever could.
Unfortunately, just like in the forest, instantaneous karma for his ego struck, in the form of a Flipendo from San blindsiding him. "OH JEEZ!" Thomas was nearly knocked off of his feet, stumbling precariously near the edge of his square before recovering. Now the pain was starting to put him in danger of passing out, something he wasn't particularly enamored with. Breathing in rather haggard fashion, he pointed accusingly at San as he threatened, "If I could cast at you right now, you'd be in trouble." Likely, it didn't seem particularly frightening, considering his weakened state. Still, perhaps it was the dizziness slowly eating away at his inhibitions, or perhaps it was just a machination of his growing annoyance, but the fire in his eyes only seemed to grow stronger with every round.

Wincing at the embarrassment more than the actual damage that he had received from the last round only made the boy turn red in frustration. Rushing back to a standing position, all he could do was mutter a few expletives and glance down at his now lightly roasted tanktop that he had on. A certain girl's Laughter brought him out of the mourning over his shirt, even though his mom was going to kill him for wrecking a perfectly good shirt....again. "Hardy har har- Laugh it up."
Thankfully her apology was enough to silence his indignant fury. "Yeah yeah yeah, you hit me." He waved his hand flippantly, before glancing back at Mars. "At least I didn't end up like them-" Jack managed to say, before ducking underneath a flying foot. Ballet...great. Why couldn't he get away from that dreadful thing? His tortured childhood aside, there was nothing like making fun of teammates, amiright?Stats:

This was not the time for the team to be messing up, she thought as her flipendo hit it’s mark again. Thomas looked worse for wear as did the boy behind him who still just couldn’t manage to hit her as she leaned down and to the right allowing the light of his spell to sail over her left shoulder. Mars was dancing, and Jack had been hit. “Come on, guys focus!” Was all she had to say before Thomas’ words brought her attention back to him with hollow promises. Santario’s right brow arched in amusement, smirking slightly before she winked at him at the start of the next round. For someone who couldn’t put their money where their mouth was, it was all meaningless and hollow words.

Adonis stomped his foot upon watching his spell whizz past her once again. He was so close to getting her out of the game once and for all. He could see the exhaustion starting to wear down on her yet she still managed to dodge. Unfortunately though he would have to try again in another round to get her.

Round Six10th of July 2020, noon
The duelers seem to be playing cautiously now. Everyone was moving to a new position to get a better angle on their attacks, though there seemed to be some that continued to attack! Mars was one of those players, but unfortunately, due to their lovely ballet recital, they were hit in one of their leaping legs with Thomas' Incendio! The poor student's leg instantly caught on fire and only time would tell if they would put it out themselves or pray that their queen's accurate fire extinguishing spell casting would help them out of this plight. Another kick in the butt was the fact that Mars' own spell missed its target due to the frilly dance they were doing, but at least the spell didn't backfire on them this time. On the plus side, their partner, Jack, had his spell connect successfully with Team White's queen, damaging the girl significantly. Much to the dismay of Team Black, Greta was not on fire, unlike their teammate.
Maybe they would try again and hope for the best!

Perhaps it was her focusing on her own team's performance or dodging the overly powerful-looking flipendo sent her way from Theo, but Santario missed for the first time this entire game. She swore a very unladylike swear under her breath. It was hard not to get distracted by a flaming ballerina, but she would save the jab at Mars when it wouldn’t burn them all the more. “Focus yourself, dumb girl.” She mumbled at herself readying for the next round.

Rejoice! One of his spells finally managed to gain purchase. Despite the rather unfortunate condition Thomas was currently in, it appeared Lady Luck was on his side once again, stumbling out of the way of Santario's Flipendo. Between that, and the fact that Mars was currently dancing uncontrollably and lit aflame, his demeanor brightened considerably. Still, he had learned the rather hard lesson of remaining focused in the match, so rather than making some snarky comment, he was content with celebrating his victory to himself.
The Ravenclaw mumbled under his breath a quiet, "Heck yeah..." No matter his potentially contemptuous attitude, the boy was never one to swear! Thomas even managed a smile, although his fatigue was apparent as the expression was rather subdued.

Dee made a face, her nose scrunching up in distaste. She'd been so worried about catching fire again that she'd focused on dodging instead of doing anything productive - and then Adonis had chosen this exact round to not attack her for once, and instead moved. The opposing Queen had done the same, which meant there were now two people in position to attack her. Fantastic. And Adonis was still not in a field where she could repay him for all those Incendios.
On the other side of the field, Thomas had managed to set Mars on fire. "What is it with these people and Incendio? Have they forgotten everything else they have learned in class this year?" she asked, scowling - and then realised their designated firefighter had moved into the space next to her. Great. Hopefully someone else would be able to come to Mars' aid.
Grumbling to herself, Dee looked back at Greta and Adonis, both standing in front of her, and to her own relief, felt a fresh wave of determination flood through her, replacing the annoyance and doubt. "Fine," she muttered softly. She wasn't sure she'd see the end of this game, but she sure as hell wouldn't go easily.
