rping as iNPC Maksim Preobrazhensky [x] interacting with Vyacheslav Preobrazhensky (@Ruby Cazares), Caradoc Browne, Kateri Karr, and Saskia Nicholson.
open to other interactions, especially from Hogwarts! If dialogue is in italics, Maksim is speaking in Russian.Maksim could feel an aggressive rumbling coming from the very depths of his belly that could only mean one thing: he was starving. Which didn't really make sense, as he'd had a light snack of an orange just ten minutes before, but that was teen boys' appetites for you. Frowning slightly as he placed his hand on his stomach, he turned to his brother, Vyacheslav, who sat beside him in their tent. Maksim had no idea where his other three tentmates were, but he also didn't really care, as he wasn't particularly close with any of them. Really, he only knew the three other boys by how they presented themselves: Oberoi (@Serena Towers), the hot and buff, but slightly cocky Indian who he tried to avoid when possible; Hexum (@Pericles Dralt), who was quite the annoying little shrimp; and Novikov (@Adam Harringtom), who was the only one of the other three that he was even remotely close to being on a first-name basis with.
"Slava," he sighed melodramatically, elbowing his brother gently. It was always a coin flip on whether or not Vyacheslav was actually listening when you spoke to him, although Maksim usually had better luck than most people. "I'm hungry. Starving. Let's go find some food... something out there smells incredible." Indeed, as the smell of cooking meat at Hogwarts' BBQ reminded him, with a pang, of his own mother's cooking.
Getting to his feet, Maksim lead the way out of their tent, glancing around before deciding to simply follow his senses, as there were no immediate explanations as to why it smelled so amazing out here. Spotting plumes of smoke and sniffing the air experimentally, Maksim nudged Slava gently and pointed towards the direction of the smells and smoke. "It must be coming from over there," he reasoned, before immediately heading in the direction of all the tantalizing sensory stimulants. His stomach growled loudly as the Preobrazhenskys speed-walked, as if painfully reminding him how badly it needed nourishment.
Finally, the pair reached the site of the barbecue, and Maksim could already feel himself salivating at all the sights and smells... and the people! "Brother," he said slowly, glancing around at the swarm of faces he didn't recognize. "I don't think this is Durmstrang's food site..." His eyes lit up at the sight of all of the pretty girls wandering around, and he elbowed Slava excitedly. "But I don't mind... not at all. Wow, Slava. Look at all the girls!"
His ears perking up at all of the chattering in English, his already wide, anticipating grin stretched wider, and he practically beamed at Vyacheslav. "Hogwarts students!" he exclaimed. "We can finally use our English, and you can scope out the competition! Do you think the girls will like men with accents?" Pfft, like they could even be considered men at all. Boys, that's what they were- and Maksim was an incredibly hungry teenage boy.
"Food first," he decided, "Then we chat. I'm sure the Hogwarts professors won't mind, there seems to be plenty to go around." Marching over to the tables with the meat and skewers. Grabbing a patty and a skewer of chicken cubes, Maksim pointedly ignored all the vegetables and fruits. "This smells incredible," he said with a content smile, before making his way over to a tall, unassuming man. In fact, he kind of reminded him of his own father... no, Aleksandr Preobrazhensky was far more handsome than @Caradoc Browne.
Flashing a brilliant, blinding smile at the man manning the grill, Maksim offered his plate up to him. "Hello!" he said cheerfully, his Russian accent lilting and almost musical. "Are you the one who cooks the meat for all the students?" Pointing at the patty, he said rather haltingly, "Uh, I would like my... meat to be... medium-rare? I do not know how to say medium-rare in English... A bit pink! A little bit pink on the inside." Maksim's ever-present smile grew even wider, as he was clearly proud of himself for working his way around the language barrier with elegance and grace. "Thank you, sir! If you do not care, I would like to find a beverage," he added, gesturing towards @Kateri Karr and @Saskia Nicholson. "I will return soon, sir!"
He had lost sight of Slava, for the moment, although Maksim didn't worry too much. While both boys were nowhere near fluent, they knew enough English to be able to navigate around such a sizeable gathering of native English speakers. Heading towards the table of refreshments, Maksim glanced from the small, rather unassuming girl to the strangely dressed woman. He'd never seen clothes like hers, before! Did all women at Hogwarts dress in such a manner? Surely not, she seemed to be the only one dressed strangely, so far.
"Hello, ladies!" Maksim exclaimed, clapping his hands together in excitement. "You both look quite lovely... I like your hat, miss!" he added, nodding at Kateri with a smile. "I wish I had hats as lovely as the one you wear! But alas, I do not. But I would like a drink! Perhaps some ale?" His eyes darting from Karr to Nicholson, he suddenly burst out in a fit of laughter. "I am only yanking your legs!" he crowed, wiping imaginary tears from his eyes. "Of course, I do not drink ale. What a silly thought! No, but I would like some soda, if you have any."
Glancing around, Maksim waved to his brother wildly, hopefully drawing his attention. "Slava!" he yelled, waving exuberantly. "I think they have soda! Come over here, the girl is quite pretty."slight god-modding of vyacheslav (walking from tent to bbq site) is approved of.

It had been far too long since she had last been to an event like this. Recently, Frost had spent much of her time at home with her family and with her nose deep into school books. Now that it was summer, she had thought a social event would be a nice way of welcoming the break. This year's summer camp especially excited her. The thought of being able to meet new people from another magical school made a warm and fizzy feeling bubble in her chest.
Summer breezes tickled her cheeks and nose as they brushed past her. The air was warm and the sunlight of the setting sun shone on her, melting any icy stress away into nothing. Frost beamed, a single dimple displayed on her right cheek. Laughter and ambient chatter built up in her ears as she grew closer to the main crowd of the barbecue. The smells of delicious food dragged her in like a cartoon character.
Frost made sure to greet any familiar faces and made her way through the maze of people in a polite manner. Her ginger hair had been tied back into a ponytail with a simple ribbon, a habit that she had adopted into her style. This was the type of weather that made her want to have picnics and laugh with friends. Not to mention the outfits she was able to wear in warm weather. over the past half a year or so, Frost had developed a liking to fashion and whatnot. Though she was -and always will be- a hardcore herbology nerd, at least now she would be a fashionable herbology nerd.
Even though Quidditch was never her thing, Frost couldn't deny that she had always found it quite cool. She had even wanted to play Quidditch when she was younger. Some of her friends played, which ensued her coming to every game her friends had. Especially since it was her house team playing against Durmstrang, she absolutely had to attend the summer camp. It was like, guaranteed fun times, right?
After finding the main food areas, Frost grabbed a small plate of salad and a chicken skewer. Glancing around at all the students around her, the redhead smiled, radiating positivity and pure brightness, of course. Noticing a boy who was looking a little bit lonely, it was only a 'Frost' thing to go up and talk to him. As she walked over to the boy who was a fair amount taller than she was, Frost waved and smiled, her head tilted to the side.
"Hello!" She beamed, practically glowing with that cinnamon roll energy. One of her delicate and quite pale hands extended out to him in a greeting. "I don't think I've seen you around at Hogwarts before, are you a Durmstrang student?"✿

Interacting with @Caradoc Browne and @Ami ProcoppioLucia did indeed follow her head of house towards the barbeque, with the reasoning that - well, she didn't really have any reasoning. Who needed reasoning in order to get good food?
As the pair reached the barrel-stand, Professor Browne talking to a few students along the way, the girl laughed at the pun - barrelque, really - and tried to decide what food she wanted, though the choice was hard. At home when they had similar barbeques, there would usually be just one option, but here there seemed to be hundreds!
"I don't know..." she said aloud, in response to the professor's question of what she would prefer. "What would you -"
But her question was cut short by a boy with dark skin and curly hair, who cut in to say something to Browne in a lilting Russian accent.
When he had finished speaking, Lucia leaned in to the conversation, her long hair falling into her eyes. Maybe she should have tied it up after all. She tucked a few strands behind her ears to keep them out of the way.
"Are you from Durmstrang?" she asked curiously, although there was really no need. With an accent like that, where else could the boy have hailed from?

═ ∘◦❦◦∘ ═"Come on Ari. By the time we get there all the food will be gone." Lizzie dragged Ariana's arm along with her as they neared the BBQ. She had been so hungry and the train the London but had decided against eating anything because she didn't want to ruin her apatite for the good food coming her way. She pulled on Ariana's arm and moved over to the area where the food was being held.
Lizzie herself had not planned going to the summer camp until Zykeal had brought it up at their little date that the Monkey and Shark had invaded. It had been a lovely evening but it was just a coincidence the Ravenclaw had noticed her boyfriend sitting all alone with a steaming hot cup around his hands.
She looked down at the food that had been set out. She didn’t necessarily want anything hot. It was more like she had the craving for a lot of fruit. Even if it didn't fill her up she could always go back for more and maybe even get something hot after that.
She grabbed a bowl and just poured a few different fruits in it. It included strawberries, raspberries, a few orange and apple pieces and a handful of grapes. She looked towards Ari and smiled letting out a breath. "I am so excited about all of this. I especially can't wait to go stargazing." She bounced on her heels and looked around for anyone she could interact with other then one of her tent mates.
"I bet it is going to be a magical night." She grinned and scanned the crowd once again spotting someone quite close who looked pretty alone. She grabbed Ari's wrist not caring if she had gotten food yet or not and bounced off towards the boy she had not seen around Hogwarts.
Looking back towards her friend she let go of Ariana's wrist and squeaked out, "Oops, I'm sorry." She laughed and continued to walk towards the person she had latched eyes on. She quickly skipped off knwoing her Gryffindor friend would follow along after her as she literally had nothing better to do with her life. Lizzie watched as another girl approached him but did not falter her strides and continued towards them both.
"Hello. You both look a bit lonely." She said looking up at the boy and girl. She had now come to the conclusion that he was not from Hogwarts at all it was probably either Ilvermorny or Dumstrang. "I'm Lizzie. Lizzie Verdine." She balanced her bowl on one hand and stretched the other one out hopping that one of them would return the kind gesture. She turned her head towards were her friend would be and waved her over quickly.

When it came to Quidditch, Colt wasn't that much of a large fan. When it came to the general feeling of mass hype for sports in general, the boy loves such an atmosphere. So, of course, it wasn't a surprise to find the sun-kissed child joining some of his classmates to support their Ilvermorny team. After all, it's a chance to see what the other Wizarding Schools look like. He heard that Hogwarts was posher and more polished compared to Ilvermorny, so maybe it'd be fun to get them to loosen up?
If one were to look at the Pukwudgie boy at first glance, they'd think he'd look rather grimy. They would be correct. His tie isn't properly fixed. In fact, the thin part of it is sticking out like a sore thumb. Some of the buttons on his vest are mismatched, done in the wrong holes. His pants are no exception to the blonde boy's untidiness. One leg is half-folded, insinuating that it was folded but it didn't finish at the back. The other is not only rolled out, the edges of it were stained with dirt. Despite all of this, Colt smelled rather decent. Nothing too distinct, though other students that were near him started to wonder if they were beside a beach because he smelled similar to the ocean breeze.
The first thing Colt did was, of course, get a couple of cutleries before heading over to the food section. The first thing he grabbed with the tongs that were displayed beside the labeled food was a classic hearty steak. The BBQ was almost familiar to him, as his family usually has casual BBQ dinners since their home had such open space. His eyes wandered around for the other options. He glanced at the vegan burgers, wondering if they're just as good as the real thing. With a casual shrug, he scooped a slice, figured that it's a good time as any to broaden his horizons. he then sauntered over to the side dishes, he picked out a couple of veggies, mostly small tomatoes, picking one of them with his fingers and popping it in his mouth.

“I am so excited about all of this. I especially can't wait to go stargazing.”
Lizzie was dragging Ariana [very forcefully, might she add] towards the BBQ, and the young girl's tired legs protested as she struggled to keep up, still one handedly tying her hair into the neatest ponytail she could manage with her right arm. Ariana nodded in agreement to Lizzie’s words absentmindedly, casting her gaze around the crowd. The young beater was definitely excited too, quidditch was something she not just admired, it was her passion, her life. She couldn't believe they were really here. It was beyond amazing.
"I bet it is going to be a magical night."
“I'm sure it will be, now let go of my arm Liz!” She cried, frustrated. The girl had attempted to pull her off just as Ariana reached for a bowl of fruit; half the contents had slipped out as she had been suddenly jerked forward and she sent the girl a glare, readjusting her fork. Although she wasn't really angry, how could she be? It was such a wonderful night!
“Oops, I'm sorry.” Came the reply from her birb friend. Ariana rubbed her arm before following Liz to wherever she was headed. “Where are you going?” She questioned, trudging along as she bit into a strawberry. She was dressed smarter than she usually would have been, [something which her mother would definitely have been delighted about] her usual sneakers and hoodies had been traded for a pretty skirt and blouse with newer white trainers, those of which did not support the green tinge of her other grass-stained red ones. Her hair, which she had grown out during the year, was thick and silky, the dark curls reaching the middle of her back despite her high ponytail. [She still has no idea that she is ¼ Veela] Green orbs flickered down the centre of their encampments. A barbecue had been set up along the side and down the centre a pile of logs had already been laid around for the fire that was scheduled later on.
Ariana had been preoccupied by her surroundings and almost tripped as Lizzie abruptly stopped in front of her, addressing a couple of people she hadn't noticed until now. “Hello. You both look a bit lonely.” Ariana glanced up to who she was talking to. A girl [whom Ariana might have recognized as a third year hufflepuff] and a boy who looked maybe slightly older than her, with light brown hair and dark eyes. Ariana hadn't seen him before, but he was certainly pretty. She stopped, her fork halfway to her mouth, before hastily putting it down and blossoming her dainty features into a kind smile. “Hello.” She greeted, shifting her bowl to her left hand so that she could offer a handshake to the both of them. “Im Ariana Walker.” She cocked her head to the side slightly, turning her focus to the boy, a soft smile still apparent on her face. “I haven't seen you around hogwarts, where are you from?”

Why did all of these events involve fire, Amadea wondered to herself as she scanned the area. If she was being honest, though, her fear of fire was small in comparison to the other reasons she was feeling uncomfortable being here. For one thing, there were so many people here. A lot of them were Hogwarts students, but a lot of them were not and Amadea was feeling very overwhelmed by the sheer amount of people that were attending this event. As she looked around, she had to admire the beautiful set up of the encampments. There were lights strung around as the sun was setting, making it a beautiful sight to see.
As she looked, Amadea tried to scan the place for anyone that she would recognize. She regretted not waiting for her tentmates so they could all attend the event together, though Amadea wasn't even sure if they were coming or not. She sighed. Had she made a mistake coming to this Quidditch event? So far, she had a tent full of tension and feuding friends, constant internal sadness because she was back in London for the first time since her father's death, and horrible social anxiety as she looked out at the crowd of people mingling and having a good time.
Maybe she could just grab a quick bite to eat and then sneak away back to her tent. As Amadea tried to maneuver around the groups of people to get to the food, she finally spotted a friendly face belonging to her fellow Hufflepuff and third year, Frost Cira. Amadea hadn't seen Frost in ages so she quickly made her way over to the girl. As she approached, Amadea realized there was a group of people standing around Frost and immediately she wished she hadn't come over. Amadea didn't recognize any of the other people and it looked like Frost was in the middle of a conversation. Unfortunately, she was already too far over to turn back without looking stupid, so she headed over to the little group and put on her best smile. "Hi everyone," she said. "I hope I'm not interrupting. Frost, how are you? I haven't seen you in so long!" And then realizing that she should probably say something to everyone else, "Oh, um for those who don't know me, I'm Amadea Campbell. Third year. Hogwarts student."── ❋ ──

Welcome BBQ
Summer had officially started. Rose almost skipped to the barbecue from her tent. She was wearing a big dark red sweater over short, pale jean shorts and a tank top. Her red converse were on her feet. Craning her neck to see if she could spot any of her friends, Rose spotted someone she knew very well.
Drew was just minding his own business, looking for his friend Gregorí or maybe some new people he didn't know when he was hug-attacked by a familiar redhead. Regaining his balance and his breath, Drew said, "Rose! It's so good to see you!"
"Same to you," she grinned. "How are you? How's Illvermorny? How are your parents?" she asked him quickly. He took a moment to process and then answered her.
"Great, awesome, and great. How are you?" he answered, taking a step back from his cousin.
"Good. Really good." Rose replied, happiness bubbling up inside of her as a result of their reunion.
"You know what else is good?"
"Mm?"
"Those burgers, I can smell them from here."
"Always thinking with your stomach," Rose murmured, her smile reaching her eyes. "You haven't changed a bit."
The pair made their way over to the burgers. Rose appreciated how the staff had included people who were vegetarian and vegan, but she didn't have to say so for Drew to know.
"So... Got any cute friends?"
Rose opened her mouth in mock-shock. "Drew!"
"Just kidding, cool your jets."
"For your information, I have plenty of cute friends, but you are going to keep your flirty hands off of them."
"You say that like I'm a dirty creep."
"No, just an annoying flirt."

May got out of the tent that she shared with a Ravenclaw, a Gryffindor, and a fellow Hufflepuff. The tent had been quite comfortable, but at the same time, it felt quite empty, so May decided to go and check out the BBQ that the Hufflepuff head of house, Caradoc Browne, was hosting along with the ex-Quiddich captain Saskia. She waved at her, not sure if she could see the little first year soon to be second year Hufflepuff, but still, May decided to smile at her, and waved.
She saw Caradoc Browne, and waved, again, slightly at him, but dropped her hand as soon as she saw that there were a lot of Drumstrang students all around. She felt a little shudder down to her spine, and looked around. She saw a group of people, mostly girls, surrounding something, or someone around the table. May decided to go and sit alone on the grass floor, and wait to see some of her friends, if there were any, there. She saw, at last, Ariana Walker there, in the group of people. I wonder if I should go. she thought. A few minutes passed, and she decided to go and see what they were doing.
She saw Amadea Campbell, a girl that had hosted a game of Gobstones. She waved at her and offered a smile, and then, mooned at Ariana. "Hey." she whispered. Hopefully, the Gryffindor would hear her and reply to her cold 'hey'. Then, she saw a girl that she had never seen before. She could catch her name- Frost. Well, that was a cool name. She half smiled half grimaced at her, but she quickly turned to look at a boy. He was a Drumstrang guy, that was for sure. She waved, and looked around her, to see more familiar faces.

Alan had been quite excited ever since he heard about the camp and even more so once it actually started. He had never been camping before so he would imagine all the amazing things to happen throughout that time and Alan was positive that they all would have a great time. How couldn't they? School was over and there was no danger around anymore which meant that sneaking out past curfew was no longer a threat to his own life! He just hoped there would not be too many mosquitoes. Had he known that camping would include having to deal with so many mosquitoes he would have informed himself better. Luckily he had @Jake Morris who was willing to share his bug spray with the third year. At least there shouldn't be any mosps around here which indeed would be positive.
As he arrived at what he heard was supposed to be a BBQ he looked around to notice that quite a bunch of students had already gathered, which was exciting. He had eaten BBQ before but he never actually watched it being made so he was looking forward to that. As he caught sight of @Santario Martin he would move over to her with a grin on his face. "Hey San, how have you been?" He had not even known that Santario would be at the camp as well, but the realization made him quite happy. It was nice knowing that another of his friends was around and that he would have less worries keeping in contact with her over the summer. He could simply walk over to her and speak to her, rather than having to write owls and having to wait for them to arrive.

as Nichlas Forsberg
So far a lot of things had been disappointing, including most of the people he was sharing a tent with or the fact that they had to share tents with other students in the first place. He had assumed that he would only have to share it with Disa and Ella which he would not have minded at all, but to see a total of six beds in the tent made him want to turn around and just back out. However he could have hardly done that and had to support his little sister in everything she did; except anything he did not approve of. It hardly mattered though, because he was quite proud of her that she had made it onto the team. Of course she would remain second string for now, but he knew that she would not mind that any less and would rather be able to support the team from the bench than to not support their team at all.
The one good thing about this whole situation was that he could see another school's team go down in a competition against their own. The thought alone made the corner of his lip curl up into a smug smile as he made his way over to a campfire. One could say that he had bathed in insect spray as he had used up a fair amount of anti bug sprays within just the first three days of the camp. Luckily the ones he had brought were scentless. He had taken a quick shower earlier which left his hair slightly damp as he combed it to the side and to the back of his neck loosely so that the strands wouldn't bother him when they fell into his face.
Approaching the campfire that he knew would be a BBQ event, he was wearing a pair of cargo pants in a olive hue that matched a shirt that was slightly deeper in shade. With that he was wearing a pair of white shoes [Outfit]. For now he would just be standing by the side, observing the situation and hoped the day would pass without any unpleasant surprises. He wondered how many of these people here were true wizards and how many others had tainted blood flowing through their veins. It was not hard to guess that one of the adults, who he assumed to be either a Hogwarts or a Ilvermorny professor, must be some sort of half breed as his build appeared to resemble that of a sturdy goblin [@Gargott Dunaid].
