A Practice To End All Practices PV Kreszentia C

Harley walked into the duelling room, waiting for Krez. He took out his wand, fling it left and right. Throwing it up towards the air, as it fell to the floor he began to practice his spells. Sending a line of red magic flying towards the wall,  it hit the wall and left a massive black mark across the wall.

Instead of seeing a mark on the wall, he saw his step-father dead. He did not want to stop there as he continued to shoot more and more spells at the wall each time seeing his step-father. Not seeming to see anything but that body going down over and over, till something snapped and he came back to reality. The wall was a dent of its oldness as he looked towards it, the line of black was now the whole wall.

He walked over to it and gave it a touch, it was hot to the touch. Removing his hand, he walked over to the chair next to the stage. He pulled out the photo of his mother and father at the zoo with him, It moved as his father saw him and smiled. Putting away the photo and walking over to the stage, looking at the door readying to get for practice.

The topic of dueling was one that Kreszentia had taken immense interest in. Though recent, rather semi-constant escapades and social obligations had incidentally gotten in the way of her ever bothering to sign up for the appropriate club. Determined, she knew she would find some way to get in some practice, one way or another. Her sure attitude and desire are what drove her to keep an open eye out, and a keen ear, searching for any other means of honing her offensive spells.
The initial meeting she had with the other first year wasn't too memorable, but she got right down to business with him. They both wanted to duel, maybe not for the same reasons, but it was enough to work with. They would meet, they would spar, and if all went well then maybe they could call each other dueling partners for any later practice sessions.
But of course, she was late.

Partly by her own stubbornness and partly from the castles massive structure, she had found that she had gotten lost and was wandering semi-aimlessly through the winding halls of the school. No, asking around didn't seem like a great idea to her. She could do it on her own...eventually. It was fine, she was sure. After what felt like an eternity of getting absolutely nowhere in this maze of an institution, she spotted the right room, or she hoped she had.
She peeked in, searching for that familiar stranger she agreed to meet. There he was, waiting by the stage, naturally. Krez pulled her scarf further up onto her face as she pushed the door open and scuttled in wordlessly, her wand already wielded in her free hand. Before she could bother making any attempts at conversation, she took notice of the scorched blackness that was once a wall. She blinked at it a couple times, before shooting Harley a mildly bothered look, tilting her head in obvious curiosity.

Harley turned to see Krez standing there looking at him, with a massive questioning look. He was not sure what to say as she continued to look at him.
"Ah, that might have been me practicing."
It seemed as though the room got colder as he waited for Krez to say something. Harley motioned for Krez to come forward onto the stage, as they both walked onto the stage. He and Krez looked over at each other and bowed.
"Are you ready" he said after bowing.
As they both picked up their wands, he pointed it at her and was thinking through the spells he had learnt. He stood there and motioned as he said "expelliarmus", he said it and yet the spell did not work. Something had happened as the wand, began to do some kind of magic. Giving it another go, doing all of the motions and saying the word. But this time Krez wand went flying up into the air, as it began to flip and turn he caught it.
"Krez, this belongs to you I believe."
After saying it he threw his wand over towards Krez, it twisted and turned as it landed in her hand. He looked over towards her and waited for her to uses her spells.
"Its your turn Krez."

Not what she expected, and not what she had hoped for. It was going to be a hard time for her because of her...well, inexperience. It was really no surprise that he could get her wand out of her hand so quickly. She caught what was hers and took a step back, squinting at him from a mix of confusion and trying to cover up her surprise.
Her grip tightened on her wand as she did her very best not to get mad over how fast he had one-upped her, and he pointed it at him with every intention to at least blow him back a foot or two. But, to her dismay, the spell she wanted slipped her mind almost instantly and for a moment she stood in silence, wracking her brain for the incantations she had read in class before. She groaned in frustration, facepalming herself and putting her arm down for a minute so she could get her thoughts in order.
Expelliarmus, that's what Harley had said. She thought maybe she could get away with copying him, but with her lack of past successes, she doubted it would work the way she wanted it to. Besides that, it wasn't really up her alley. She would much rather harm than disarm in most cases, but no, she couldn't right now. It would be uncalled for and really just unfair in general.
With a sudden surge of confidence and a new idea in her head, she brought her wand back up to point it at him. Be clear, be precise, don't mispronounce a single word, the rules repeated in her mind. "Everte Statum!" She finally exclaimed. She felt the surge of magic energy blast forth from her wand, and she was just as surprised as anyone would be that it worked. It was only a matter of if it worked against Harley that mattered now.
