Just A Little Dance Finished

Rose eventually found herself into the gigantic room known as the ballroom, her jaw dropped at how big it was, it was currently empty, so she wasn't sure if she was allowed to be in there, however, she wanted to take opportunity of her adventure, so she ventured out into the ballroom, looking around at her surroundings.

Her light, soft brown hair followed her as she twirled around to the middle of the huge room, a big grin on her face, and a giggle slipping out of her mouth. Rosie twirled her robes around as she wandered around the ballroom, just having a nice little time. She hoped there would be dances in that room, not for the opportunity to go with someone, but for the chance to engage with her friends in a large room such as this. It seemed to have a nice echo to follow, but she didn't wanna risk yelling and getting in trouble.

Rosie didn't take ballad for very long, but she remembered some of it. She took off her shoes and tossed them to the side, sliding to the middle of the floor with her socks. She lifted up her foot slowly and pranced forward, taking a few steps before leaping and spinning around. It was,... Rough, and she ended up falling. But she fell with a laugh. She knew she'd be rusty at ballad after years, but this didn't change the fact that dancing was fun.

She remained sitting on the floor and looked up at the ballroom, just awed by the Hogwarts castle in general, it held so many interesting rooms and it shocked Rosie, which was probably why she was still sitting on the cold floor.

Meanwhile, Anatole had rushed downstairs, hitting the fourth floor. He was flustered as the halls remained quiet. Everyone must have been outside due to the weather. After all, what was not to love about the grounds.

Peering through various doors (he did not care to look in the dueling club, some of those things were out of his league), Anatole saw no one in any of the rooms. When he peered into the ballroom, at first he was taken by shock as he noticed the gorgeous chandelier. At first,he did not see the girl, so he presumed he had entered alone.

The floor was spotless and the walls were pristine. Even though Anatole was an absolutely atrocious dancer, he just loved the design and sheer beauty of this room. Slowly, he walked to the center, still not noticing the girl.

His jaw was wide as he looked at every single corner of the room, and all of a sudden ---

--he noticed Rosie. "AAAAH!"Anatole shrieked like a little girl, at first surprised. Then, his face red, he apologized. Again. "Hey, Rosie...really sorry if I intruded? You scared me at first, I thought there was no one in here..." Anatole blushed. "At least you're not a complete stranger, eh?" He tried to form it into a joke.

Rosie turned around and landed on his hands to the voice, grinning when she saw that it was Anatole. "Hey! You didn't interrupt anything, I was hoping someone would join me here, actually." Rosie shot up and skipped over to Anatole. "I didn't think I'd see you here, how are you?" She asked, putting her hands back into her pockets again, a bright grin on her face. "I kinda just wandered here, it's a gorgeous room isn't it?" Rosie asked, spreading her arms and spinning in a circle.

She was excited someone joined her in the ballroom, it was a nice little experience and Rosie was glad she wasn't dancing in it alone. Besides, the silence was freaking her out just a little bit, considering she was a small little child in a big ol' room.

Rosie eventually stopped spinning and stumbled back towards Anatole, she was very, VERY, dizzy but it didn't matter! She flashed a smile anyway and finally put her full attention onto Anatole, putting her tiny hands back in her big robe pockets. Her scarf was basically choking her but it was fun to watch it chase her around as she ran in circles over and over. Even if it meant she was getting dizzy.

Anatole seemed to like her presence here. She added a bit of character to the elegance of the room. It was pleasant and made him smile. "Thanks for letting me in, I suppose. Extremely nice of you." He chuckled almost inaudibly, watching her skip around and spin. Her cloak fanned out almost perfectly in time with the music in Anatole's head. In fact, Anatole wanted to see if they even had music here.

He looked back at her once she asked on how he was. "Oh, I'm just fine, just fine." He sighed. He really wasn't fine, but it just sounded better if he said he was. "A bit flustered as you might have assumed!" He dashed toward her, smiling brightly, but not as bright as her grin.

The small boy looked even smaller juxtaposed against the large room. "I really don't dance, well I'm not good at it to say the least," he commented with a hearty laugh.

Nevertheless, he came onto the floor and tried to spin around with her. Yes, he got dizzy too. There was something he knew about how to not get dizzy, maybe it was looking at the corner? He wasn't sure.

However, he wanted music. "I bet you there might be a piano here somewhere..." He dashed around the room, trying to find something that could make music.

Rosie's grin turned into laughter as Anatole spun with her. She was being a dork, but it was more entertaining if someone else was being a dork with her. Anatole had a friendly and lovable vibe to him, he kept up with Rosie's antics. The 2nd person so far to do that, and Rosie was appreciative. "Do you know how to dance?" She asked, balancing on one foot. "Like, the slow dancing thing or whatever." Normally, that would mean something romantic, but little ol' 11 year old Rosie barely knew the concept of romance, so lucky for her, it probably didn't come out that way.

"There should be a piano or something somewhere! I'll help you look." Rosie skipped off in the opposite direction, looking for something musical. She wasn't good at anything involving instruments. All Rosie did was dance, talk, and cast spells. She found it cool Anatole was interested in music, maybe even talented at it. Either way, Rosie wanted to hear him play, so she was now determined to find something for him to do so! Rosie ended up slipping on her socks and tumbling to the floor again. "Oops." She muttered, laying on the floor. "Man down! Go on without me!" She called dramatically.

Anatole, while spinning, looked up at the gorgeous chandelier and it almost made him trip. Again. Just like he did at the Sorting Ceremony. Slowly, he came to a stop, grabbing her shoulders and laughing as she stopped too. They stood there for a second, just smiling. "Ah, so you're the dancing type of girl!" He raised his eyebrows jokingly. "But no, I don't know how to lead a waltz or whatever it's called," he remarked. "However, I can do this!" Anatole, trying to be more bold and outgoing, tried to dance by swinging his arms around like a monkey while attempting an awkward strut. Afterwards, he grabbed his leg and tried to do the standing-up crunch dance, minus the spinning. Yes, he looked like a complete fool. One might even compare it to someone's grandmother trying to dance. He hoped it would make her laugh, then they could be friends.

Anatole narrowly skid around tables, looking for any sign of a piano, or a drum, or maybe even a horn of some sort. At a school this prestigious, they must at least have a band.

Well, maybe.

He kept checking back, making sure Rosie was alright. Eventually, he heard a small yelp come from her. Anatole chuckled to himself. "Pssh--I got your message, Puff. I'll forget ahead, over!" After pretending to trek further, he ran back and held out a hand for her to grab onto. Anatole's was trying to help her get up.

At least, that's what a polite man would do.

Rosie ended up giggling uncontrollably at Anatole's dancing, trying to copy his movements. They were a bit more smooth, since Rosie loved dancing anyway, but she didn't end up doing that good anyway, spinning in a circle. "Whew." She commented, stumbling and holding her head. "I need to stop spinning. And you should dance with me! It's fun." Rosie spread her arms as she walked backwards away from him.

Despite being hurt, Rosie let out a cute little giggle, grabbing Anatole's hand and standing up. "I'm all good, don't worry!" With one hand already held, she grabbed Anatole's other hand, spinning him around. "If there's gonna be dances and parties and stuff in here, you need to learn how to dance! I don't know how to either, maybe we can try to learn together?"

Rosie didn't know how to waltz.

At all.

She watched her parents dance when she was younger, but she was too small to try to do that with them. Not that she was considering Anatole in any romantic way such as her parents' relationship. She didn't think dancing had to be romantic. It was just two little kids having a good time! Nothing to worry about.

Anatole stepped backwards away from her as well, trying to plot out the dance floor. He had seen a couple movies where they danced, and his nanny had always watched shows on nobility and royalty, and of course they danced a lot...but maybe this might not be so hard. He was sure he knew a minimal amount, quite possibly, or at least she knew what dancing looked like, but never jumped in.

Either way, he knew it would be best to try to lead her.

"Alright, alright. I'll try to lead you. I know what the form looks like, and I bet we can figure out the steps in a jiffy." He moved toward her, placing a hand on her shoulder and a hand on her waist. Her cloak felt soft and warm. "Isn't this right?" he questioned, laughing. "Or is it around the back?" He waited for her reply, smiling back at her. They were close. But not romantic. Ew.

Anatole was whisked into a spin, going up on his toes and pulling her in. "There's no one I'd rathe learn with, I guess. Or is it more of a learn on, since we both need to learn our respective parts?" He was a little confused, but it would make sense in the end.

Well, hopefully.

"Uh, yeah! That's right." Rosie smiled, resting her hands on his shoulders. "I think either way it works." She shrugged. "Do you dance at home?" Rosie asked, pulling him in a bit and starting to walk around. She had a big grin on her face as she let herself be guided by Anatole, since by logic, the tallest one was supposed to lead. Her hands rested nicely on his shoulders as they spun and walked.

Rosie had never actually danced with someone before, other than on her dad's feet. She didn't think it'd go very well with anyone else. But she might as well learn other things besides history and magic, right?

She was a tiny bit nervous someone, like a professor, would walk in on them. Not that Rosie found Anatole romantic or whatever in any way, but it did look weird from what they were doing. But Rosie didn't care! She loved dancing, why not share it with a new friend, right? Who cares what they thought. It only mattered what the two people involved thought.

But anyways, Rosie continued to dance with Anatole as they talked and such, she was content with what they were doing at the moment.

Anatole kept swaying, afraid to move his feet. He didn't want to trip. Well, correction: he really didn't want to trip. Rosie wouldn't see him the same if he fell on top of her.

So he kept swaying. However, eventually he needed to step somewhere, trusting she would follow. Back in the programs Patricia made him watch, the man kept his head up and lunged back and forth, striding and gliding across the floor like they were on ice.

Anatole acknowledged he wasn't at that level yet. There's no way he could ace it off the bat.

At least he got the first part right. "Oh, good. I got just a little bit worried there." He gripped onto her tighter as he began to move. Lunge, step, step. Lunge, step, step. "I didn't dance at home, well my parents never were home a lot. I did watch a lot of shows on royalty and nobility." He looked down at his feet, hoping her feet would match up sooner or later. "My nanny was very into that stuff. We watched a lot of documentaries." Then, he looked back up into her eyes. "You?"

Only seconds after asking that, he interjected, "Sorry if my steps are confusing. I'm just trying to follow what I've seen." He laughed, smiling back at Rosie.

This was nice.
