Nell walked quietly into the empty ballroom. Her shoes echoed throughout the room as she entered. A simple blue dress of silk engulfed her pale body. Moonlight shone through the glass windows of the ballroom. Her long brown hair lay on her back.

It was past curfew indeed, but Nell wanted to get out of her stuffy dorm. She also wanted a chance to use the dress her mother had sent her. She walked around the empty ballroom in circles. She brought herself to the window and stood it the direction of the moon.

Her icy blue eyes glimmered in delight. She loved the moon. She loved its glow, its color, and its perfect size. She loved the feeling it emitted when she stood in front of her.

After a while of boredom, Nell spotted icicles emerging form the wall. She shivered, realizing just how cold it was in the ballroom.

All of a sudden, Nell heard light footsteps approaching the ballroom. She ran to something large, which she couldn't quite tell what it was, to take cover.

The light footsteps entered the ballroom and came to a halt. Nell's breathing became quick, short breaths. The footsteps approached her quickly.

Unbelievably quiet late evening it was. The students turned out to be very good boys and girls that day and she hasn't caught a single one doing anything restricted.

"Maybe they found a way to know you're coming after them and had enough time to cover?" the rational voice tried to find a lame excuse.

"Then I should get my hands on that Homenum Revelio spell and not wait two more years until it's taught to us," she parried the excuse to herself out loud.

The last area was, as usual, the ballroom. She needed to put it her first place because students for some reason sneak into it closer to midnight. Unfortunately, that evening was no different. She noticed a slightly open door to the ballroom:

"Ugh... If you sneak out, don't be lazy to at least close the damn door," she peeked inside and saw no one, so she entered. The ballroom was more tranquil than usual and a bit colder than the corridors. She looked around and still saw no one.

"You know, this room is big enough to create the acoustics to reveal even your breathing wherever you hide," she said really loud that her voice went across the whole room and amplified itself as if she used Sonorus, then she continued more like a mumble to herself, "unless you know Quietus, of course."

She quickly realised that the echo of her own footsteps didn't help to discover the location of the trespasser. She could agree that the rule-breaker did a very good job of either not breathing, or hiding it. There was always chance that the ballroom doors opened by themselves (It was still Hogwarts), but the chance was small, based on her previous patrolling experience.

"I'll give you a chance to come out yourself so that I wouldn't need to go across the whole room. You're clearly out of your dorms after curfew and I don't think there's enough reason to not give you detention," her voice was still loud, but a bit tired, considering the time it was, "I'm going to Flipendo every pile of chairs one by one until I find you, just in case you're hiding behind them. You have enough time to think about how unpleasant it is to be hit by a Flipendo and come out."

The loud crack of wood filled the ballroom as the spell hit the first pile of chairs.

Nell sighed, giving up hope. Whoever it was, a prefect or Professor, they would find her eventually. There was no point in trying to hide.

Nell quickly stepped out of the shadows, revealing herself to whoever it was. The person looked to be a prefect, not a professor. She then felt maybe she had a slight chance of not getting detention. The prefect seemed to be a Gryffindor, too.

Nell pulled her black cloak over her pale dress and proceeded to button it. She finished and lifted her head to face the prefect. The girl had what looked like grey eyes in the dark, so she couldn’t be sure. Her hair was brown . . . or was it red? Nell couldn’t be sure.

She stepped forward, a bit upset she got caught. Nell decided to tell this prefect her name, for she would probably ask young Nell eventually.

“N-Nell. Nell Zoldak,” she said, both shyly and shakily. Then Nell thought it would be a decent idea to state her year as well.

“I’m a . . . a first year,” she added quickly. Nell was very, very nervous. She had never gotten in trouble with one of her superiors, and she didn’t quite long to do so. Nell was usually a quiet girl not getting into too much trouble.

As soon as the first pile of chairs was knocked with a jinx and the loud crack quieted down, a tiny figure stepped out of her cover. Meenauh didn't even smile, because was getting tired of students sneaking out to the ballroom at night. Why the ballroom was so attractive for the mischief in the first place? At least the girl wasn't a part of a demonic summoning Meenauh had to interrupt the previous time.

The girl was quite far from Meenauh to notice her facial expression, but from the nervousness in her voice and silent stuttering, Meenauh could tell a first-year even before she announced her name and year.

"Reparo," was her silent incantation to bring back the broken chairs into the initial state. As she maintained the spell, the chairs were quietly collecting themselves back and she was trying to get a better look at the girl, "What are you even doing here that late? You must have heard about all the recent events in the school. It's now much more dangerous to wander around at night," she continued as the girl was slowly approaching her. She would wait for Nell's answer before continuing.

"I know the rules may be confusing, especially for a first-year, but it should be written down in your consciousness as a human being that night is a dangerous time and you have to be cautious. What house are you from? I will lead you to your dorm and I'll report to Professor Equinox so that he could a chat with you about your behaviour," she firmly stated trying not to be so hard on the girl, "You're still getting detention and you'll receive my owl about when and where you'll need to come to serve it. After you, young lady," and she pointed at the ballroom door, inviting Nell out.

It was funny to address to her as a young lady because both of them were still children. One was just younger.
Dear @Nell Zoldak, you broke rule 3 and you will serve detention (you will be contacted about details via an owl). You cannot start new RP threads on and after May 25, 2020 until you serve your detention fully. You can still continue to RP in threads created before that day, you're allowed to join other RP threads and create OOC threads. You are free to continue RPing in this thread to react at the situation.

P.S. you are not in any trouble OOC.

Nell was about to say what she was doing here, but then classified the question as rhetorical, so she decided not to.

“I . . . I’m in Ravenclaw,” she told her. Her palms were sweating and hands shaking. She was indeed worried. What was detention like? Was it going to be bad? How long? All these questions raced through Nell’s mind.

She followed the prefect through the corridors of the castle. Was the dormitories really that far from the ballroom? She was too deep in thought to notice, but she had assumed so.

The two finally arrived at the Ravenclaw dormitories and Nell walked in. Before she did, however, she thanked the prefect. In reality, Nell had thought that she would have to walk to her dorm alone.

Nell shut the door ever so quietly, not wanting to disturb any of her fellow Ravenclaws. A few of them stirred, so Nell quieted her steps even more. She finally reached the Ravenclaw bathroom and changed for she was in a dress at the times.

With that, Nell walked to her bed and lie down. She was on the verge of just bursting out in tears, but she didn’t. Nell didn’t want to look weak and vulnerable, so she decided to just go to bed and sleep it off.
