Adohiro entered the ballroom since he could play the piano and violin since he was four years old. Music and books were his only friends growing up in his lonely childhood. He was unsure if he could play the piano without permission. He entered the music room, seeing a few people inside talking about instruments. There were a few pianos so he took his seat on one that was empty. He began to play Symphony No. 9, his fingers dancing on the piano keys quickly. He had been tutored by one of the best pianist teachers from South Korea, the country he hailed from since he was four years old so he was exceptionally good at playing the piano. He was also taught how to play the violin too, but he preferred the comfort of the piano. It was the first instrument he was taught to play so it remained his favorite. Once the piece of music was over, he had stopped. The piano keys seemed quite dusty so no one had played with it for a while. It was sad to see a piano neglected like a forlorn child so he hoped more people could play the piano more.

Harper had always had a passion for music but she had never learned to play any instruments. She looked around for somewhere to sit quietly and enjoy music. She was wondering around Hogwarts and eventually heard what sounded like a piano. She followed the noise and it led her to a beautiful ballroom that she hadn't discovered yet. She looked around at the beautiful room before her and the few students that were hanging out in the room talking amongst each other. She remembered what had drawn her to the room and she saw a boy who appeared to be around her age who was just playing like a professional. She was surprised it was him playing because she had never heard anything so beautiful in her life.

She waits for him to finish playing, enjoying every second and every note. She closed her eyes and lets the music flow through her, almost calming her. Once he finished the song she approached him trying to make sure she wasn't too quiet, she didn't want to scare him. Once she wandered into his view she immediately spoke. "That was the most incredible playing I've ever heard!" She said as her voice was filled with shock. "Where did you learn to play like that?" She asks looked at the dusty piano the boy was just playing and then back at the boy. Her face was full of disbelief.

Adohiro would play the 'Upward To The Moon OST' until the piece had finished. However little he did he know someone was watching and he would blush red with embarrassment. "Oh thank you....I still have a long way to be skilled...I'm not good like my older brother..." He would say in a humble manner but he was a bit embarrassed over the kind compliment. "I was taught by a skilled pianist by the name Dr. Yamato. I've played piano since I was young. I never liked piano lessons though, they didn't give me much freedom to develop my own taste in music." He did love playing the piano but he certainly hated being forced to play especially growing up when he wanted to do more 'fun' things.

"What is your name? My name is Adohiro. It's nice to meet you." He smiled. He decided he wouldn't say he was a Slytherin, it was a bit embarrassing a people viewed him differently when he stated so. "My name means 'peace within chaos' by the way." He quickly added. Usually, people would always ask him what his name meant and it could be quite annoying at times. So it was easier to reveal what it meant."

Harper smiled at how humble and nice he was to her. When he blushed she shook her head. "There's no reason to be embarrassed... I was simply stating the truth." She said kindly and when he asked who she was she smiled and answered him. "Oh yes! How rude of me! I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Harper. It's a pleasure to meet you Adohiro!" She extended her hand out for him to shake it. She was always one for formalities and it was what she had been taught was the formal way to greet someone you've met. Her parents always made sure she was a nice, polite and formal young lady.

When he told her what his name met she couldn't help but be fascinated by him knowing that kind of thing. She had to admit she was a little curious but he had answered her question before she even had the chance to ask it. "I'm not really sure what my name means... But I think it's cool that you know what yours means!" She says smiling wide.

She looked at the boy. "What is your house?" I am a Hufflepuff." She said pausing for a moment and spoke again before he could. "I know you aren't a Hufflepuff because I have seen you in the common room or near the dorms." She spoke again realizing he may be ashamed of his house or afraid to admit it. She was a muggle-born but she knew a lot of people who had parents who went to Hogwarts felt upset or ashamed if they didn't get the house they expected. "And don't worry... I don't judge people on that kind of stuff. There's a reason for everything and the sorting hat knows what it's doing." She stated before being quiet so he could give her an answer. She was a little embarrassed herself she had a small tendency to ramble when talking to people.

He was still embarrassed to be complimented about this and he would study Harper's features. She looked cute certainly but she was probably way out of his league. "Thank you.." He smiled. Once he heard her introduce herself to him, he smiled. "Harper sounds cool. Isn't that name out of the instrument harp? Are your parents' musicians?"   He asked and he would take her soft hand and shake it. "I am a Slytherin. I am a first-year student. Are you a first-year too?" He asked her. He seemed to be quite reserved and a tad bit shy, but he was still a nice person. He also sure didn't like to be socially awkward even though he wasn't. "What are your hobbies?" The eleven year old boy asked her and he would rest his fingers on the piano. He also was able to play the flute, violin, guqin, an a few other common instruments. Since he did live a wealthy life, his older brother was able to afford lessons from renowned tutors growing up. Adohiro never enjoyed them, but at least he had some skills for it. He was happy to have those skills and he could certainly brag about it.

Harper shook her head slightly when he asked if her parents were musicians. "No my parents aren't musicians. I don't know how they thought of my name... I've always thought it would be funny if I learned the harp though, I've never actually taken the time to learn it." When he said he was a Slytherin it didn't bother her. She always thought that ambitious was a mean and harsh word to describe someone. Some other Slytherins she knew she would describe more as passionate and driven.

When he asked if she was also a first year she nodded. "Yes, I am also a first year." She watched as he rested his fingers back on the piano and then asked her what her hobbies were. She smiled and pushed her bright red glasses up on her face as they had fallen down. "Hobbies... Well I enjoy reading and listening to music. I also love to Crochet and knit." She answered and looked at the boy and wondered the same about him. "Obviously you enjoy music but what other hobbies do you have besides playing instruments?" She asked, her voice was filled with curiosity. She was starting to like this boy and she hoped he would turn out to be a good friend. She liked that she had friends from nearly every house. It made her feel at home and welcome at Hogwarts.

When he heard her question about what hobbies he liked, he didn't think he had much. He spent most of his childhood doing academic stuff and had no time to spend time doing the things he wanted to do. "I like studying and cooking." He said simply. Hopefully, he wouldn't be seen as a shut-in and certainly hoped he wouldn't be viewed as really peculiar. "I didn't have much time to play games or have friends growing up. My family was strict about academics." He would mention looking away. "I know...I probably sound weird." He blushed. He didn't have much confidence about himself or his family, he was always expected to be smart at least and be prim and proper. He was also so used to having things decided for himself that he didn't need to think twice about what he wanted to do. "What's your family like?" He asked wondering if anyone had a childhood like him. He didn't know his parents at all and he only knew his older brother who basically raised him. He certainly was never abused, but his family was strict and wouldn't hesitate to punish him. "I was personally raised by my brother in South Korea."

Harper wasn't weirded out or anything by him being focused on studies and she honestly thought it was respectable and cool that he could stay on that and focused. "There's nothing wrong with being focused on your academics. That's a very respectable trait." She commented to him and smiled slightly. He had no reason to be ashamed of things like that, especially with Harper. She was not quick to judge and often didn't judge people at all, or least for a small list of things.

Harper listened to him as he was talking and she was shocked when he asked what her family was like. She hadn't talked much about her family to anyone at Hogwarts yet. It's not that she was embarrassed by her family or afraid to talk about them but it had just never been brought up by other people before. She smiled again before answering. "My family have always been nice and encouraging. I am an only child. I am also muggle-born. So neither of my parents went to Hogwarts. I also try and get good grades my parents are fairly strict with that as well." She said to him before pushing up her glasses again. "You said you were also a first year. Are you enjoying it here at Hogwarts so far? What's your favorite class so far?" She said and looked at him quietly awaiting his response. She loved to talk to people about their favorite classes and such.

He heard she was an only child, he was a bit like that too. He didn't have any other siblings that didn't treat him like a kid or any nieces and nephews he could play with growing up. "My brother is strict with my grades too. I sometimes got grounded for having an A-." He laughed thinking it was a bit humorous. "Pretty crazy right?" Hogwarts was much more relaxing though and he enjoyed it a lot. He didn't have someone standing over him making sure he did all the assignments correctly. "Hogwarts is a lot more relaxing than at home. I don't have my brother breathing down my neck when I do my assignments and also no punishments or pesky adults." He would grin in a mischief manner. "I am doing well in charms and potions so I like those classes. I truly hate transfiguration. I keep getting bad grades all the time so I've started to not care about it," He said with a passionate voice. "And my brother is bad at it too so I guess it runs in the family, Also my family isn't muggle-born at all, but we can be friends still." He said quickly.

Harper nodded to his response. "That is a little ridiculous!" She said with a laugh. She agreed with him when he was saying Hogwarts was relaxing. She nodded her head as he was talking signalling to him that she understood and totally agreed with him. "I also like Charms and Potions and I am doing well in those as well. They are fun to learn and I find them fairly easy." She says which was true. "My least favorite class is Astronomy. I can't seem to wrap my head around all that stuff about planets and stuff." She said laughing a little.

She smiled at his last words. She hadn't experienced any hate for it yet but she had heard that some students bully and frown upon muggle-born students. She was glad that he didn't. "I am glad you don't frown upon muggle-born students and you are still willing to be my friend. I haven't experienced any bullying or hate for being muggle-born but I have heard that there are some students that don't like muggle-borns." She commented as her voice was truly filled with appreciation.

Harper thought for a moment trying to think of another question to ask him. She was enjoying getting to know Adohiro. He seemed like a really nice guy. "Did you know we can get pets?" She asked. "Hogwarts truly does have everything. If you could have any pet in the world including ones they don't offer here what would you want to have?" She asked him curiously. She enjoyed asking questions that made people think. She thought it was a better way to get to know someone. much better than just asking them things like favorite color or animal. Simple things like that were also useful but deeper questions really give someone a true understanding of who someone is, or at least that's what Harper thought.
