The Ballroom was empty. It was quite dark, even through bits of sunlight came from the windows, but they were shattered so easily, like glass.
The Shelbys she knew was not the kind of person who danced. Except for her. The one and only things that she was thankful for her mother was letting her go to Ballet class. And ballet meant a lot to her. She danced softly in her room in her free time, swirling, flying, invisible. She was a cold river, all alone. And she was fine with that.
After all the mess at Hogwarts, she needed a time alone. She needed to be the river again. She took a deep breath. The smell of the air was different from her room. Of course it was. The Ballroom was a gigantic, enormous place with a cheery atmosphere.
Only when a ball was held. She guessed that most days, the ballroom was dead, like today.
Only when a ball was held. She guessed that most days, the ballroom was dead, like today.
And she was delighted to use a dead room.
She ran across the room, and junped. Her shoes weren't ballet shoes, but still, she could dance. 'Arabesque, then down, left, right, and-' Her thoughts stopped as her feet shifted, wobbled, and nearly caught balance. She looked at her position, half-thanking herself for not falling, and half-hating her very awkward pose.

Rosalyn had been walking around the school for awhile, searching for something to draw. Her sketchbook has been filled ever since she came to Hogwarts, however she was starting to run out of interest in the other areas. She decided to checkout the one room she's never entered before, the ballroom. It was a place that Rosalyn herself would never usually go into, but she assumed it would be empty due to no ball being held. However, when she walked into the ballroom she noticed a girl dancing.
Rosalyn's eyes lit up slightly as she watched, and she attempted to make no sound so she wouldn't disturb the girl. The girl had short dark hair, and she seemed taller than average. Rosalyn quietly walked towards the corner of the ballroom, and she carefully flipped to an empty page of her sketchbook. Thus, she started to draw the girl. As she began, the girl seemed to have stumbled a little bit. "A mistake, but by inadequate experience or a random mishap?" she asked herself in her head. The girl seemed to be looking down, and even to Rosalyn's eyes it seemed awkward. However, this was the perfect chance to draw. Rosalyn hurried to draw the girl's figure before she began to move once again. Once she could get the figure in the correct pose, she could add the details in later by memory.

She looked at her pose. Her left and right legs crossed, and her hips bent
over as if she wanted to pick up something. Her left hand almost touched
the ground, but her right arm stretched out the opposite way as if it was
paralyzed. She stayed like this for a few second, which did really feel
like hours.

'Now, why are you stuck in this pose? You can move your legs,
right?'She was pretty sure she could, but she didn't move. Then it came
to her why she hadn't moved for all that time.

In ballet, there were steps. Step one, step two, step three, step
four, and then the end. But she had danced as step one, step two, step
mistake, a gigantic question mark, and then the end. She'd never learned
how to react in a position like this, that was the reason why.

That made Mia feel a bit stupid. She wasn't a baby. She knew how to
move her legs, or any part of her body to keep balance and stand up. And still
she was in this uncomfortable situation, unable to get out of it!

She simply moved her left leg more toward the left, slightly lifting
it up, so she would lose balance for a few seconds. As her body moved forward,
she took three fast steps and caught balance, now standing up like a proper
eleven year old. Mia was a little proud of herself for being able to solve the
problem, standing up straight, which was not a big accomplishment at all.

She turned around to see a white haired, pale skinned, and a red-eyed girl
looking at her. The red eyes were blood red, her hair snow white. And quiet.
She wondered if the girl was in the ballroom before her visit or after. Unless her
eyes had a jinx on it, she was pretty sure that there were anybody there. But, she never
heard the ballroom door open or never had she heard the girl move. 'Is she a
ghost?] She wondered. Her father told her that there were ghosts in Hogwarts, but
he never mentioned that one of the ghosts had frightening red eyes.

Rosalyn was adding the finishing touches to her drawing. However, she was intrigued by the girl's weird pose. Rosalyn had seen pictures, and watched videos of ballet dancers, but she never seen someone in a position the girl was in. Rosalyn assumed it was just a pose she happened to not have seen before.
At this point, Rosalyn had finished drawing the girl's figure, and she stopped to watch the girl. She knew she could add the details in later, she could remember the slightest of details due to her photographic memory. Rosalyn noticed that the girl had been in the position for a good awhile. Maybe the girl was trying to get the position down perfectly. All of a sudden the girl began to move, but it seemed as if she was going to fall over. Rosalyn was impressed of how well the girl caught her balance.
The girl had just now happened to notice Rosalyn. As she looked at Rosalyn, Rosalyn stared back. "Is she mad? Maybe she's like others, and dislikes being drawn." she thought to herself. Remembering past situations, Rosalyn decided it was probably best for her to leave. She closed her sketchbook, stood up, and began walking towards the exit.

Snow white hair's eyes were scary. She never saw ruby red colored eyes before. And never experienced them staring at her. Her ruby earring, only one shown, were also blood red. So, was this what people called "feeling like a prey?" Not that she thought snow white hair was going to kill her, she was just frightened.
The girl started to stand up, and then Mia noticed the sketchbook she was holding. Oh, so she was drawing before she bothered her. Was she drawing her or the ballroom itself? Or both? Anyways, the girl must've been a bit mad, or angry at her. If not, why would she leave?
There were girls who needed a quiet place to draw. Who needed time by themselves. Maybe snow white hair was having the same situation. The ballroom was perfect for somebody to have a time by themselves, isolated from the loud Hogwarts. But then, wasn't she like that too? She came inside this place to be alone. So was the girl, maybe. Maybe, maybe they can be friends?
Okay, even if they weren't going to be friends, she needed to apologize. "You can have the room by yourself, if I interrupted your time."Mia said out loud just before the girl was trying to open the door.

A voice that called out. It was the girl with short, dark brown hair. The awkward posed dancer. Letting go of the door handle she turned. Turned to face the girl, staring at her with her beady red eyes. An accidental stare, she wasn't the type to try and scare people. The girl said something strange however. She was in before Rosalyn, yet she apologized for interrupting. It was bothering. It was awkward. The silence within the room didn't help neither. Just two figures, strangers specifically, standing in an empty room.
She walked over to the girl slowly. She had a bad habit of walking slow. Her small height didn't help either. She stops right in front of the girl. Staring into her eyes. Her soft, pink, lips opened, beginning to speak. "You were in here first. I came in after you." her voice as monotone and lack-luster as always. Rosalyn didn't want to say too much, she wasn't that good with strangers. She also figured that the girl would be able to understand what Rosalyn had meant. Everyone she's encountered in Hogwarts so far hasn't seemed too dull. However, it could just be that most the people she has met were Ravenclaws.

So she was here before snow white hair. Her eyes stared at her once again, but was it, maybe, a softer stare?
"Oh, I just thought you were here before me. You were drawing, weren't you?" 'Please let me be correct this time...' She pleaded to herself, looking at the sketchbook again. Snow white hair's fingers closed the sketchbook string, somehow protectively. "You can keep on drawing, I mean." She moved her feet toward the girl, a loud "tap" echoing the ballroom whenever she moved. The silence was not a comfortable feeling to her ears- it made her wonder if she became deaf. But a silence with a loud "tap" sound made her more uneasy. Was it because of that? She stepped on her left foot, losing balance again. Thankfully, she did a small turn and regained it- a simple move she learned in ballet class. How awkward stuff could've been if she fell in this situation!
Her cheeks getting redder from embarrassment, she murmured out a "Sorry for that." to the girl. She felt like she did enough ballet and had enough embarrassment enough. Things couldn't go worse than two girls in a gigantic ballroom, not really knowing what's happening, or could it?

The short haired girl was weird. At least, based on the others Rosalyn has met. The girl took a step forward. The loud tap bothered Rosalyn, she was on her guard for a moment. However, the girl stepped on her own foot. A clumsy one. The girl was surely gonna fall, but she managed to regain her balance. A simple trick it was. Rosalyn learned it when she used to do acrobatics. She never knew ballet dancers knew about it. Maybe the two were common. The hobbies and the girls. "Yes, I was drawing." Rosalyn figured that was self-explanatory. Maybe she thought the sketchbook was a simple notebook.
Rosalyn started staring into the girl's eyes. She wanted to test something. She read a book once that claimed you could read people's minds, or know about them just by looking into their eyes. She would stare for a good couple of seconds until she gave up. Not sure what went wrong, Rosalyn took a step closer to the girl. Once again, she placed her gaze upon the girl's eyes. Her red beady orbs looking deep within the girl's dark brown eyes. However, it didn't work. Rosalyn gave up and began walking back over to the corner where she sat originally. Hoping the girl would continue her dance.
