Event The Fall Ball (Masquerade)

Oh, a personality. How special. And here she thought all Durmstrang boys were just here to show off their "All brawn and no brain" attitudes. Alluring sure had succeeded on that part of the terrible cliché that befell the school of the North. This boy could very well be like the rest of the lot. She wasn't sure if he was trying to wink at her or not, it seemed like some sort of odd twitch of the eye behind his mask. He didn't look terribly comfortable wearing one. Cass would mentally grimace as she continued to listen and observe the boy. "Please, like I said. Peacocks." She aptly replied to the mention of overcompensation.

The young Irish girl would furrow her brow at him as he did not stop talking. It was as if she had broken a dam on the boy's tongue. It just rattled on without making much sense. "Last? You expect to find your true love here or something?" She stifled a laugh by subtly covering her mouth, faking a cough. "There's enough princes in books already. Though I assume we all enjoy our little fantasies on occasions like this." Cassanora mused a little to herself on saying that. She was trying to hide it, but the notion of anyone noticing her in the midst of a crowd did sound rather romantic. She just knew better. Or so she thought. While books can teach a person much. Experience drawn from life was often... lacking. The sensation of such a fantasy did not go lost on her. The requirement of a mental slap pulled her out of her thoughts. Right. Silly boys and their idiotic dreams.

And of course there it was. The "charm". Cassanora immediately rolled her eyes and looked away from the boy. She realised he was using her own words against her. Clever, perhaps he wasn't lost after all. The young Beauxbatons girl looked back towards him just in time to see his hand get caught on his mask. He clearly wasn't used to having his face covered like this. She narrowed her eyes and pursed her lips as she thought of a reply. "Tradition, support and company of course." She held up three fingers, so he could count with her. "Beauxbatons' reputation is secured by a proper representation at all times. A friend of mine, Maddie, likes to dance and will most likely be arriving shortly." She held her breath as she came to the last sentence. Her eyes looked him up and down before turning her gaze towards the crowd, no longer looking at him. Her fingers absent-mindedly tugged a few loose strands of hair back behind her ear. "And I don't mind company." She could feel her face grow a little red underneath the mask.

Luckily, her eyes immediately locked onto one of the newest arrivals in the room. Maddie looked absolutely stunning tonight. A wide smirk would reveal itself on Cassanora's face as she admired her friend. The outfit she had chosen for tonight looked beautiful, it would surely turn a few heads. Then her smirk would turn to a grin as she noticed Maddie's attention almost instantly drifting away to one of the pretty girls present at the ball. "And speaking of my friend. She just arrived." Cassanora informed her partner in conversation, nodding in her direction.

interacting with Alisa Sokolova (@Edric Banes).
If dialogue is in italics, Maksim is speaking in Russian.
Maksim grinned at Alisa's compliment of his appearance, quietly noting her mild discomfort (d20: 16) in her body language and facial expressions as she made her way towards him. He wasn't a total idiot- obviously, he didn't expect her to be completely at ease here, but he mentally kicked himself as he realized that he should've... well, he should've noticed. He should've been more considerate of her feelings, and maybe double-checked that she really was okay with this, and-

But there was no use in crying over spilled milk. Maksim obviously couldn't claim that he was "blood blind", or whatever the term was, but Alisa's half-blood status had never once bothered him. He knew that she was twice the witch that he could ever even hope of being, and that was what mattered, right? It was character, not blood- it was soul, not ancestry. And he knew, deep down inside, Alisa was so much more fun than his normal friends. Sure, she'd never be Slava or Dolf, no one could... but he always felt so much calmer in her presence. More... grounded. And he knew that there was no one else he'd rather have by his side tonight.

Alisa looked even more dark and mysterious with her mask on, and to any onlookers, the two really looked like a good couple. Maksim's darker skin and warm-toned suit complemented Alisa's pale and silver presence, and as the two made their way into Hogwarts' actual ballroom, he swore he saw someone drop a cupcake in surprise, although it may have just been his imagination.

"They can't hold a candle to us."

Her words and reassurance calmed him, her cool and indifferent nature a familiar constant in the new environment. Maksim breathed out sharply, reminding himself that he wasn't supposed to be the nervous one. Besides, as always, Alisa was right- why should he care about the opinions of so many people who didn't know him? He was in a room of strangers who had no reason to know Russian, and therefore wouldn't be listening in on their conversation... but still, his pounding heart said otherwise. All day, every day, Maksim just needed people to like him so very much. He didn't really quite understand why; he had always been reasonably confident in himself and his abilities. But maybe... maybe he needed to take a page out of Alisa's book. Nodding curtly, he consciously straightened his back just a little bit more, holding his head up high.

They were Durmstrang, and they were better.

"Most girls are... difficult."

"You're not difficult," Maksim interjected quickly, before holding his tongue until she actually finished her train of thought. She was right, though, wasn't she? Well, Alisa was usually always right, but this made sense. Realizing how his comment might've sounded, he added quickly, "I think that's why you're a great friend. I don't... you know Svaetichin (@Scott Alexander)? She scares the living crap out of me. I think she would bite my head off if I even tried to say hi."

Thinking for a moment, as the pair lingered by the side of the dance floor, Maksim finally shrugged. "Slava and Margo... They are good together. At least, from what I can tell. She does not seem to be difficult But I must agree- boys seem to be... much less layered than girls, for better or for worse."

He wanted to ask what she thought, of this whole dating thing... but even with her mask on, he was sure that he'd be able to guess at her expression. There were three options that immediately came to mind, and were the most likely, he decided. Although it would be subtle, he knew that maybe she'd crinkled her nose, just slightly, as if someone had farted in front of her and she wanted to avoid making a scene. Or she'd glare at him a little, too, or scoff quietly to herself at his absurd suggestion. Or maybe she'd make some smart comment, completely out of the blue, sending him into a laughing fit, clutching at his sides as he was completely bent over.

... or maybe it was best to just move on from this topic.

Maksim's attention seemed to be momentarily drawn away from Alisa, however, as his eyes scanned the ballroom, seeking out two figures in particular. One he would fail to find, as @Frost Cira was apparently one of many redheads here at Hogwarts. He didn't think that red hair was really that common, even in Scotland, but he seemed to be severely mistaken. On the other hand, you'd have to be completely blind if Mondelez (@Dmitri Jones) didn't catch your eye. Maksim's jaw dropped open slightly as his stare seemed to be glued to the Italian's for several seconds, before he finally remembered his manners and stopped gawking. Alisa most definitely would've noticed, as the boy seemed to have finally shut up for a few moments.

"Dance or food?" he asked cheerily after clearing his throat awkwardly, turning to Alisa with a small smile. Even through his mask, the delighted glint in his eyes shone through all of his nerves and second-guessing thoughts. Despite all of his concerns he had voiced, it was clear that Maksim was elated at the thought of dancing the night away. "I'll have to warn you, the dancing is inevitable, so it's just up to you if you want to put off your doom- I mean, destiny, just a little while longer. Don't worry, I'm an excellent dancer; my specialty is the waltz, but I must admit, I am a man of many talents. Boy? Man? No, I feel grown up tonight..." Realizing he was babbling again, he repeated quickly, "So... right. Dance or food?"

Kira knew she was running a bit late as she ran down the halls with her mask in her hand and her small bag over her shoulder. She hoped that she wasn’t leaving Ashlyn waiting for too long since they decided to arrive separately and it took longer than she had expected to get ready. Her hair wasn’t cooperating that day, but after a bit of work, she was able to get it under control. As she approached the doors to the ballroom she could hear the muffled music from the other side and she couldn’t keep a smile off of her face as she took a moment to collect herself and don her mask before she entered. She opened the doors and was met with students dancing, music, Halloween decorations and she also noticed a snack table off to the side (she definitely going to spend some time there). She stepped into the room and quickly skimmed the room looking for Ashlyn but Kira didn’t see her, so instead she made her way over to the stage and placed her bag with the others so she could change later. It was a bit difficult to find Ashlyn with her new hair and a mask, but after a bit of wandering around looking for her, Kira finally spotted her friend near the door and made her way over. Once she was about twenty feet away she called her name, "Ashlyn!” Even with the music, Kira got a couple of looks and but she didn’t really mind making a small commotion, she was really excited to be at the dance, and as she reached where Ashlyn was standing Kira had a wide smile on her face.“Hey! Sorry to keep you waiting, your hair looks great by the way.”

ILLYA YORNIKOVYCH, THE FOURTH YEAR FROM DURMSTRANG
❝ All roads lead to Rome. ❞

SIMPLE, that's maybe how he could describe his attire. It wasn't flashy and had a few splash of colors here and there. It was meant to be this way after all, he was here for really one person and that was only Carolyn. Since talking to the Ravenclaw, he had taken to her side and opened up a little more about what Durmstrang was like. More over, he had found a friend in her.

There was no real interest to mingle with too many people, it was hard speaking in English to one person as is. But she was a real help to him, he picked up on more things than he did with his father, no offense. Plus, his father spoke a very formal and frankly dated type of English. Though, speaking felt like the least of his worries and he was excited to meet his date.

Illya sported a black suit with a slate gray waist coat, a pinstripe shirt to match under, his tie held it all together, and some black dress shoes under. His mask was just as inconspicuous as it was one color, Illya wasn't one for extravagance. What stood out the most was a lapel pin on his coat, a black jackal that had a gentle shine under the light. Jackals symbolized a lot of things, all of which he was fond of. While Carolyn was making her way here, he was patiently making his way around the ballroom in quiet curiosity. That was until his brown gaze drew towards the midnight locks and the distinct form of his friend.

His unreadable expression curved into a small smile as he made his way over, hands slipping into his pocket before he spoke up once the distance was suitable. ❝ You have upstaged me Carolyn, perhaps I should go change. ❞ he loudly jested. The gentle steps came to a stop as he got up to vie for her attention. The drama and side talk that was going around the ball was none of his concern, he wasn't going to waste the night worrying. The Durmstrang student simply wanted to have a good time with the person he promised to go with, preferably with no interference.

Yet an unmatched candor came from Illya, almost like a pleasant hum that pulsed with eagerness. Some short and coy laughter shook his shoulders slightly; he was a little late. ❝ You look wonderful. But I am sorry for the wait, how about we dance to make up for lost time? ❞ He knew he was a little short on time, his apologies were on the line, but he also went out of his way to make up for himself. It was uncouth to make someone wait, albeit only a few minutes had passed. Plus, who knew what could happen in a room full of clashing personalities?

Amara's face lights up as she sees Percival in his suit. Such a dashing young man he is. Taking his hand, Amara nods. As much as she wants to be independent, strong, and powerful, having some sort of companion, someone you trust by your side never hurts.

"Thank you, my love."

As the impeccable duo arrives at the ball, Amara notices a rose Percival is carrying. Raising her eyebrow slightly, Amara sends an inquisitive look towards her date.

The two enter the ballroom, decorated elegantly with an air of dignified romanticness. Running a hand through her hair, the Dragamior heir speaks again.

"More like heading to hell than hitting the fan. Should we dance?"

Checking her pockets once more for her wand and brooch, Amara feels confident that if, no when, something goes wrong, she will be able to work with Percy to protect themselves and hopefully others.

Assuming he says yes to them dancing, the two Slytherins walk onto the dance floor and begin a simple dance. The sound of the music hums in and out of Amara's ears, the candle-light flickers on her face, bringing out a glow behind the golden mask. Deep down, Amara knows this dance will end in someone getting hurt, or with hags, or some other attack. But for now, for this moment, nothing can go wrong.

Action André being André

André watched as the first girl introduced herself. Lily. The name reminded him of something. Or even someone, for that matter. André couldn't quite put his finger on it though. He'd also noticed it was quite hard to catch the facial expression of people while they have a mask on. It was a minor setback. Not one he couldn't handle, of course. André watched as she introduced the other girls in her native tongue.
[Or well what he assumed was her native tongue.]

Names don't change that much through languages. Either way, she spoke it quite well. André had to admit. He was impressed. He'd been learning English for a while now. But.. Wasn't amazingly fluent in it. He supposed it was the lack of practice.. Or lack of a real challenge to tackle for a better word. André found himself looking through dictionaries full of English words to find something to increase his vocabulary. As if he had quite of an impressive vocabulary in french as well. It was almost saddening. A lot of them were lost through translation.

André watched as another girl began to speak up. She didn't seem at all too happy. And she introduced herself as Scarlett. André thought it fit the interesting fiery girl perfectly. He supposed, of course. It had to fit her. It was her name, after all. He watched, and she then went on to introduce the fairy-tale like girl as Lucia. But it didn't stop there. "-Why did you decide to pay us a visit, all of a sudden? I presume you're from Beauxbatons or Durmstrang or Ilvermorny. I haven't seen you around here before" Scarlett said."Beauxbatons, right?" Lucia added interrupting Scarlett. "Yes. I am from Beauxbatons." He said, giving a laugh to ease the mood. "We made quite to entrance upon arriving here. I'm surprised everybody didn't notice, " He added. The smile still playing on his lips. He felt like an idiot with this smile on. No wonder it worked so well. That was the whole point though.. Was it not?

"Hi Lucia, how are you, I'm surprised to see you here actually, I thought you wouldn't want to come, to be honest I didn't at first!" Another girl had walked up. Oh joy. She looked like she was just a ball of energy. Lucia seemed happy to see her. Maybe this wasn't.. so bad. But André watched as this girl went on. "I know I shouldn't interfere in your choices but you do realise, that this thing" He watched as the girl gestured to Lilly. He was genuinely confused.

Why would someone ever refer. A real. Living. Breathing. Being. As a thing? People were not objects[Except when they were the pawns of André, then they were. But usually André felt justified as such. People were just road bumps on the way to greatness, weren't they?] "-is a mudblood!" André flinched at the word. What a nice trip down memory lane for him. At least he blended, though. People usually assumed he was Pureblooded. Interesting how that worked.. As he started to focus on listening again, he ended up listening to the girl. Well, at least it mid-sentence. She seemed to be almost done. "-mates, have you seen any of the first year Slytherin girls?" And this was when André caught Lucia speaking."That's rude. Don't go round making enemies for no reason, will you? Some of them are alright. And no, haven't seen any. Sorry. Bye!"

His eyes though. Lingered on the girl for a bit as she waved by whispering something into Lilly's ear. He almost felt bad for her. André watched as the second the girl had walked away, Lucia dismissing the concept of her right away. Mentioning something about her being a family friend. That had just happened.. It seemed as if everybody wanted to dismiss the subject, though. Because Lilly went on talking. Only soon enough did André realize though that the subject was not dropped. As Lilly mentioned something about the girl being her enemy. And now he felt bad for Lilly. Most likely for the wrong reasons, though. What a terrible enemy to have! She doesn't say enough to make one's blood boil! She just used a derogatory term. It was so cliché. She needed to step up her game if she wanted to be a better enemy.

André had enemies. Random kids from school he didn't care to know the name of, a few of his foster 'siblings' from different foster families, a few from Beauxbatons. A little bit here and there. And their idiotic attempts to get his attention never worked either. They were also the only ones who'd ever gotten a peek into his real thoughts. Ones that weren't the purest of heart. The ones that show André wasn't just as dimwitted as he made himself out to be.

"So.. Favourite Season? Fall has always been mine. There's just something about it" André asked, attempting to make small talk as he still processed everything that had just happened.

The echo of her heels clacking on the stone floors was the only sound Maria could hear on her way to the ball. The halls were empty, likely because everyone had either opted to stay in their dorms or were already at the party. She was running “fashionably late”, though she promised herself she wouldn’t run no matter how nervous she felt. It wasn’t in her nature to come later than other people, because that meant more people noticing you when arrived. Unwanted attention was the last thing she needed. Coming early also gave her the opportunity to sit down and observe. Which was what she mostly did at parties anyway.

It took her quite a while before she decided she would put on her dress and shoes, make herself presentable and actually go to ball. Originally, she’d planned to just stay in for the night, maybe read a book, do some homework or practice her spells for dueling. At first she thought she would go with Aaron this year, but quickly dismissed that thought once she remembered their “recent developments”. Briefly it crossed her mind that she might see him there tonight. Hopefully it wouldn’t be as painfully awkward as she’d imagined.

However, the owl she’d received last night was apparently convincing enough to change her mind. By some odd turn of events it was from the Slytherin boy Thomas Lestrange. She remembered him as the suspicious boy who was on her team when she was thrown into a bootleg Fight Club with the other snakes. Of all people she definitely didn’t expect him to contact her after that, but clearly he found her interesting enough to invite her to the ball.

Maria,

I admire the way you carried yourself that day in London. You did not back down from a fight, even with undefined stakes. I’d enjoy the opportunity to get to know you in a formal setting. Yes, the Masquerade is tomorrow evening. Though I can’t say there won’t be any shortage of fighting, regardless of the setting. If you accept my company, meet me near the entrance.

Regards,
Thomas Lestrange

OOC: That’s not creepy at all

Her eyebrows furrowed as she read the piece of parchment, her mind trying to think back to that time, wondering what she did to warrant this boy’s attention. Regardless, she was curious about him. Recently she’d heard around that he made prefect, she guessed he must be doing something right for him to granted that title. Maybe he wasn’t as bad as she first thought and was worth the benefit of the doubt. On the other hand, he was a questionable boy whom she barely knew anything about, inviting her to an event in a school that didn’t have the best history with parties. It was a conundrum for the twelve year old Huffle, one that she spent most of the night and day thinking about.

But eventually she caved and decided to go anyway. Her mother provided her a blue dress with a high neckline and gold detail, with a tulle skirt. Her mask originally was plain but she spruced it up with leftovers from when she made an origami sculpture of professor Jensen, along with some paint conveniently still in her trunk. At least no one could say she didn’t prepare for this.

Arriving at the doors, she kept her eyes peeled for her companion for the night, hoping that he was actually worth the benefit of the doubt.

Sherlock and Watson. Mario and Luigi. Bert and Ernie. Batman and Robin. Simon and Garfunkel, Abott and Costello, Chip and Dale, Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum, Sonny and Cher, Statler and Waldorf, Rogers and Hammerstein... the list of famous duos went on and on. And, with a glance to the blond to her right, the Hufflepuff knew that someday, Scott and Ami would make it on that list.

Like the dork that she knew and loved, Scott had insisted on walking her from her common room to the ballroom. While it may have seemed sweet to most other people, Ami had a sinking suspicion that all he wanted to do was stare at her outfit.

Much to her chagrin, Scott had forbidden her from throwing on some drag and sliding into the ball as Chad Preoccupied- not that she could blame him. After last year's ball, there was no doubt that he didn't ever want to see the king's face at a dance ever again. But, what she didn't expect was for him to insist that he help her choose her outfit. Ami had been dressing herself from the moment she could put on a shirt by herself, but for some insane reason, she relented. The soft and silken fabrics draping her body were all entirely Scott's choice, although considering the frequent letters Scott kept writing and receiving, she could only assume that Gretchen had helped tremendously.

They made their way through the drafty corridors towards the ballroom, her arm linked in Scott's, the two looking for all the world like two very gay people attempting (and failing) to beard with one another. Scott looked dashing, as always, and Ami found that she now took pride in knowing that her best friend was attracting the stares of many girls, wondering just who that blond boy with too much hairspray was. Their shoes clicked in unison on the stone floor, the tall and lanky figures moving through the castle like a pair of Ents.

As they neared the Ballroom, Ami paused briefly to glance down at her attire. It was a custom order from Gavala, an American seamstress that she had never heard of. But she figured the vibes were good- after all, their tagline was "American Tailor Witch for the Young Witch or Wizard in Need of Fresh Fits", which sounded promising. Her calf-high pirate boots somehow meshed quite well with her pale, turquoise pants, the waistband of said pants reaching just under her breasts, adorned with shining golden buttons. She had asked, at the time, if these pants were meant to be some sort of strapless jumper, and was quite surprised when she was informed that they were, in fact, simply empire waist pants. But whatever, her waist looked snatched as hell.

Draped across her shoulders was a shimmering cape, an obviously magically enhanced piece of cloth that looked like it had been plucked out of the night sky. Edna Mode most certainly would not approve of it, but Ami had to admit- she felt kind of like a princess, which was something that she would never, ever be caught saying out loud. Intricate golden chains draped across her chest and shoulders, which had required Scott's help and 15 minutes of frustrated cursing. Her blouse made her feel like a proper pirate, with beautiful, billowing bell sleeves that really felt like they belonged on her body. Boom! And her hair! Her hair, which was normally a rat's nest, had been tamed into submission with a liberal amount of brushing and curling rods, framing her face in a way she had never thought to be possible. Finally, her elaborate peacock mask hid an even more elaborate avant-garde-esque makeup look that looked like an 8-year-old just threw an eyeshadow palette at her face.

She looked freaking fantastic.

In the blink of an eye, they were at the doors of the Ballroom. A figure with an enormous skull mask caught her attention, and Ami paused just outside the entrance, openly staring in awe and mild confusion at the horned mask. "Hey, Scott-"

Nope. Before she could even get another word out, Scott had marched her inside the Ballroom, the momentum from their promenade through the corridors sweeping them into the fray of it all. And while the music was loud and the chattering thrumming in Ami's ears, all she could hear was the clicking of Scott's shoes. Scott was saying something, and then he was clapping his gloved hands together, and she spotted a flash of turquoise and magenta that could only belong to one person... but all she could see was the skull mask.

What was wrong with her?

"Hang on," she said impatiently, grabbing Scott's wrist and pulling him back towards the entranceway. "I need to..." Her words trailed off as she focused on navigating her way through the sea of people with her friend in tow. He may have been half an inch taller than her, but she was stronger- a good deal stronger, as well, so it was no problem for her to drag the Gryffindor back towards the stranger.

"What is on your face?" she asked bluntly, now face to face with the mask-wearing individual. "It looks familiar... who are you?" Dropping Scott's arm, Ami shifted her peacock mask off her face to rest on her forehead, grinning widely at the mysterious figure. "I'm Ami, and blondie over there's Scott." She thrust her hand out for a handshake, staring at the eyes behind the mask expectantly.

... damn, she really needed to learn some manners.

A delighted giggle left his lips at Rose's attempt at speaking French to him. It wasn't perfect, of course, but he was able to understand her.

"I see you've been practicing your French ... très bien!" Eyre complimented, beaming down at her. For a moment the thought of his mother... adoptive mother, that is, crossed his mind, but quickly dissipated in favor of being proud of her for going out of her way to learn his second language. "Pas aussi belle que toi, ma chère." He squeezed her hand. She was truly the full package. Beautiful, and also thoughtful.

They made their way onto the dance floor and Eyre began to feel a bit nervous about dancing. He'd had ballroom lessons before, so he wasn't completely inept, but he hadn't had a real partner before. And especially not a partner who he wanted to impress as much as Rose.

"Right...I'll just..." Eyre started, placing a gentle hand on the small of Rose's back and clasping her other hand in his. "And then you..." He waited for Rose to place her hand on his shoulder before smiling at her, becoming a bit bashful at how close they were standing to each other. "Perfect." He said softly, his eyes flickering to-and-fro over the features of her face.

"So, we just move to the beat... Ready? Just watch my eyes, not your feet, and let me guide you..."

They started at a steady beat, beginning to gently glide around on the dance floor as Eyre softly counted them off. "One, two, three, four... One, two, three, four..." Eventually they started to get the hang of things and Eyre spun her around.

At that moment, he made eye contact with Ana. It was enough to throw him off, mildly tripping over her feet as they rejoined. He was quick to laugh it off, grinning ear to ear.

"See? We got this!" He said to her, noticing that Ana and her partner were starting to get closer to them on the ballroom floor.

'Stay away, Ana...' Eyre thought to himself, wrapping his arm more securely around Rose on impulse. He was not going to let his ex-best friend ruin his night.

one morning this sadness will fossilize and i will forget how to cry. ☆

Action: Talking
"O-oh thanks-" Melissa said, feeling her face turn red. She had never experienced it before so she really didn't know what to say. Turning back to Marshal, she said, "Hi Marshal...Oh, it's fine-" He really seemed like he was sorry for being late. She then added, "Marshal, this is August. August, this is Marshal." A small snort escaped when the blue-haired boy called Marshal 'sir'. "You too!" the ginger replied as she watched him walk away, probably finding someone else to talk to.

To be honest, it was awkward, just standing there with Marshal. She really didn't know what to do. Multiple people were dancing but she just didn't feel like it. She couldn't even dance well anyway so why bother? She didn't want to embarrass herself by tripping while dancing or anything. "Uh Marshal, can I talk to you real quick...in private?" she asked. There was literally nothing to do. Mel just wanted to get out of there and do other stuff. Things that didn't involve just chilling in a ballroom, doing nothing. Ok...so I'll just tell Marshal that I don't want to be here anymore. It's that simple...but what if I hurt his feelings? What if he thinks I don't want to be here because of him? I- ughh

Action: Arriving
Olivia rushed into the ballroom, feeling more excited than ever. She had never been to Hogwarts before and also this was her first ball so she was quite thrilled to be there. She walked around, literally staring at everything. It just all seemed...amazing. Everything about the wizarding world was still new to her since she didn't know until she got the Ilvermorny acceptance letter. As the blonde looked around, she noticed a girl wearing a giant ballgown. Woah that's...really fancy- she thought. Her own dress was just very simple compared to the girl.

Looking away to explore more things, she then realized that a lot of the girls were wearing heels. Maybe it was because of her muggle fashion or something but Olivia's clothes were no match against the others. Her green dress, cat mask from a Halloween costume, and black shoes just weren't...enough. Sighing, she walked over to a wall, basically doing nothing. What could she do, to be honest? Dance? Like she would just dance by herself to some classical music. The wizarding world was just so different from the muggle world. The world that she grew up in, unlike the other kids who've grown up knowing about magic. How was I supposed to know that we were supposed to dress up in fancy dresses and all? Olivia honestly didn't feel like she belonged there anymore, unlike when she was back home.
