A Friend In Need

Saturday, 9:05 AM
Silence filled the Abandoned Lavatory on this cold morning, for even the sound of children passing by through the hallways couldn't be heard. This particular area wasn't a popular one of students to wander off to. It was known as 'Moaning Myrtle's Bathroom', which was enough to keep the unpopularity of the place at its highest, and whilst there was a well-known ghost to lurk the Bathrooms every now and then, the atmosphere and overall vibe were so chilling in itself, even for Falentra. It had that look of eeriness and death, enough to keep anyone with a bit of common sense away. Cracks had danced there way through the large mirror that hung above the numerous of fragile looking sinks, and the shards of glass that had fallen from the mirror had scattered the tiled floors.
Gentle drops of rain fell against the single, small window. It was the only calm and relaxing feeling you would get once inside, and the only light that lit up the room, enough for you to make your way around the gloomy room.
Whilst the atmosphere was unwelcoming to most, Falentra couldn't help but feel drawn to it and the room itself. It wasn't because of the appearance, but just the silence. She often spent her free time outside on the grounds, just on the outskirts of the Forest, but even there she could not escape the company of students passing by in the distance; screaming for no particular reason other than just being bloody annoying.
Today was colder than usual for the Slytherin. It may have been the presence of the ghost, as they say, it always goes cold when one is present. Or, it could just be the obviously bad weather. Falentra tugged at her robes and rewrapped them around her to help with the comfort of making her feel warm. The fabric of the robe was thin and soft, but her jumper beneath was made of thick grey wool which was most likely the thing keeping her warm.
From her large robe pocket, she pulled out a journal that belonged to her father. She stole it from him before she had been told to move away and live with her Uncle, her Fathers Brother, Alfred. He had always been a kind man from what she could remember. Very much unlike her Father who was strict and seemingly cold towards her. His shop meant everything to him, and what was in this journal was his whole life, which she was yet to find out, but she knew something just wasn't right.
A lot of her Saturday mornings were spent here in this same toilet, reading over and over each page. It all unclear to her, so much so that she even felt the need to go to Sergei for help at one point, an old Professor of Transfigurations, but never got the chance to find out his opinion on it. Whether that was to be a good thing or not, she'll never know.
She sat in one of the more stable looking cubicles, one that was seemingly cleaner than most, due to her previous usages as a hideout place. Closing the tall dark oak door behind her, she sat on the closed toilet lid with her feet pressed firmly on the door, just to make sure there was no way of any student getting in, just in case on the off chance.
It wasn't until around 9:40 AM when she heard the door that leads to into the Abandoned Toilets open. There was no way that any student or professor would bother coming in here. Why would they? There is nothing interesting here to see unless on the off chance they wanted to be pestered by Moaning Myrtle, but why would anyone want that. She was judging whoever had entered already, but if it was the opposite way around, who was to say they wouldn't judge her. It was an awful choice for a hideout, but it was, at least until now, the best place to not be disturbed.
Rather than ask who was there, she just kept her feet pressed against the door and remained still, hoping whoever was on the other side of the door thought they were alone and left in piece, for both their sakes.
