Around 7:30pm
Around 7:30pm
Dawn sucked in as much air as she could and then let out, slowly and shakily. She was seated at a table across from the entrance of the study room, watching the door like in any minute a dementor was going to fly through...except it was only going to be a few students interested in meeting with her. Dawn had gathered them all for one purpose: clarity.
A few weeks ago, close to the beginning of the school year, Dawn had began to feel the terrible anxiety that came with being at a new school and having homesickness. She was a Muggle-born and had just grown out of thinking that magic, and Santa, weren't real when her world was turned upside, all starting with a visit from a wizard. Dawn had thought the subjects were interesting, and possibly really easy, but she was very wrong, and her grades showed it; magic subjects were complicated just as muggle subjects, just with a mystical twist.
Dawn had become so overwhelmed by her emotional and mentally state that she burst out in frustration during Potions, nearly cursing at her partner. But Dawn wasn't the mean type and immediately apologize for her behavior. Eventually she and the girl, a Ravenclaw named Adriel, came to talk about their own struggles and how they struggled to deal with them. The confessions actually helped Dawn relieve herself of some of the stress, and she wouldn't be surprised if Adriel felt the same way.
It gave her an idea; of course they both weren't the only one who needed an ear, so what if they could provide others with one? Letting out all of that pented up anger and worry only made things worse. Dawn knew some other people who needed to speak out, and she felt like they'd appreciate all meeting up together.
That's why she was gathered her now, waiting for them all to come. She told them that she didn't mind if they were late, she understood. She could always reschedule. This was for helping everyone get through things and if they weren't ready then that was fine. Dawn would just wait until it was near curfew and then leave, but she knew that at least Adriel would come so she wasn't too worried.
Besides Adriel, Dawn had invited three others. One was Lydia Cooper, a Hufflepuff who share how stress from school and honoring her family got to her, bringing out the worst. Another was Flash Holmwood, a Slytherin boy expressing how depression and self-doubt, in a sense, were impacting him in a terrible way. He seemed to like the idea so much that he asked if he could invite a friend, someone named Willow Anderson, which Dawn had gladly agreed to; she didn't care who came, as long as they feel good afterwards.
So Dawn waited, her anxiety making her bounce her leg up and down. But she wasn't just nervous; a small smile played on her lips as she imagined that perhaps these people could turn out to be great friends after sharing these deep things, these things that really made them who they were.

Adriel patted down her skirt as she prepares to enter the study room. For once she wasn't going to spend hours on end cramming for a test or worrying about an assignment. Today she was meeting with her friend Dawn, a Griffindor she had met in potions class to discuss the forming of a very special club. Dawn had the brilliant idea of forming some form of support group here at Hogwarts. It would be a place where anyone and everyone could join together to discuss their problems, ask for help, and even make potential friends.
Dawn had approached Adriel with the idea days after a meltdown she had in Potions. They had taken the time to talk about what was going on in both their lives and it really seemed to help. Which is why Adriel was so excited for this club. She knew how hard in school and out of school life could be. Everyone needed a safe space to relax in. With a cheery smile and upbeat him Adriel opened the door to the study room. Inside she found Dawn nervously waiting for everyone to arrive.
"Hey Dawn!" She greeted and walked over to her with a bounce in her step. "Are you excited? I know I am. I can just see it now the study room packed full of kids just looking for a break. This place is going to be a new safe haven instead of a den of frustration." Adriel said with a chuckle as she took a seat beside her

Flash usually made it a habit to always arrive early when he was expected, but he had been spellbound by the topic in the book he had been reading. It started with a simple question he had about what he had learned in transfiguration, then spiraled into one thing after another. He had to settle for being on time, second to arrive after their auspicious host, Dawn Blanchomery. He had only made a very casual acquaintance with her beforehand, but had been taken by surprise when she suggested a get-together.
He thought it was a brilliant idea. He had wondered how he could find an outlet for the disappointment he had over the way things had fallen apart all around him. People all around the school needed help, even if it was just someone to talk to. It was something palpable, something he could dedicate all that energy into that had some kind of meaning. Something that could show Willow that he was trying to change.
He only wished he had been clever enough to think of it himself. He would have to learn more about Dawn to fully grasp what all she was capable of. For now, however, there was groundwork to lay. He had been a part of quite a few extracurricular activities at his private school growing up, but nothing quite as nebulous as a support group. The mission goal itself seemed unclear, though undoubtedly the idea was to hash it all out in the meeting they were having that day. Dawn mentioned taking the group public and making it official, which Flash was fully prepared for, so long as everything was sorted out properly beforehand.
Entering the study room so late at night, it seemed nearly everyone had abandoned it besides Dawn herself. She sat stock still, impatiently tapping her leg as the girl who entered right before him enthusiastically greeted her, extolling the virtues of their endeavors. Flash had no such delectation-- this was partly out of penance, and something he was taking as seriously as he took everything that became his responsibility. He couldn’t know how the meetings would go as time tolled on, but if it gained any traction, there would be several emotionally delicate students all gathered in one room. It was a recipe for disaster if handled improperly.
Still, he could only worry about the future so much, when there was all the opportunity in the moment to make sure things were done in an orderly fashion from the start. He was involved, after all, so certainly everything was under control.
”Miss Dawn, a pleasant evening to you. And Miss, I’m sorry to say we haven’t been introduced?” After Flash waited for the girl’s excitement to simmer, he addressed them both, walking into the room.
Dawn had mentioned the names of the others who were joining them, and through association, he already knew Willow and her other Hufflepuff friend Lydia. Through deduction it was obvious that this girl was Adriel, but Flash had so often made people suspicious of him when he knew their names before being told. At least he was telling the truth that they hadn’t been introduced. He would have to do the same for Lydia, another person he knew through means besides having formally met.

Willow was surprised when Flash had told her about this new developing club. With all of the people she met, they could all definitely use some additional support. She had recently met with some muggles to make some zines about the struggles of transition and just life as a muggle in Hogwarts. She didn't realize it was a huge point of stress for her until then. She had also recently started opening up about her life at her old school, she didn't plan on unpacking that any further since she felt like the little bit that she opened up was good enough for a few years. At least she could help provide support for other students, and maybe learn some things through providing support to others.
Recently, her bounce returned back to her step and she was reaching her previous level of happiness before the first couple weeks of March happened where everything seemed to fall apart. She strolled into the study room to a couple unfamiliar faces, and one that she was happy to see again. She walked up to Flash and gave him a hug from behind as a greeting before turning to the other two, "Hi there! I'm Willow, it's lovely to meet you both."
She plopped down in the seat next to Flash, pulling her signature bunch of friendship bracelets out of her robe pocket and putting them out in the middle of the table. "These are friendship bracelets I make, feel free to take one! But, just throwing this out there. It would be cute if we had matching ones if all goes well." She realized that the meeting hadn't started yet, but she was just excited and full of ideas and couldn't control keeping them in.

Adriel was excitedly chattering away with Dawn. When their conversation had a natural lull she heard a voice from the door to the study room. ”Miss Dawn, a pleasant evening to you. And Miss, I’m sorry to say we haven’t been introduced?” Adriel turned her head in order to put a face to the voice. What she found was a tall Slytherin boy walking their way. He carried an air of seriousness about him that made Adriel feel slightly intimidated. She herself could be serious when it counted but for the most part She was rather childish. She gave him a smile in greeting but before she could get a word out another person entered the room.Color Code: #6c9dcd
This time it was a Hufflepuff girl who came bouncing into the room. She hugged the Slytherin boy right away it seemed they were friends. "Hi there! I'm Willow, it's lovely to meet you both."Willow then plopped down in the seat beside the Skytherin boy and pulled a handful of bracelets out of her robe. "These are friendship bracelets I make, feel free to take one! But, just throwing this out there. It would be cute if we had matching ones if all goes well." She said while she placed the bracelets on the table in front of them.
Adriel couldn't help but smile at her she was very cheery Adriels favorite kind of person. She glanced over at the friendship bracelets then back to the two. "No we haven't had the pleasure of being introduced yet. My name is Adriel Greynore but feel free to call me what you like I enjoy nicknames." She smiled brightly at the two. "I really like the friendship bracelets Willow they make for a great introduction." Adriel then reached over the table and grabbed one she liked. She fastened the bracelet onto her wrist and admired it for a moment. Before looking back at the group with her cheery smile.

Lydia was late. Again.
The red headed girl had always been the kind of person to arrive at least five minutes earlier to an appointment, just to make sure she would not be late. But lately, it was like her whole internal clock had slightly shifted; she would get to class just in time for the Professor to start talking, her papers would be turned in at the very last minute, and her grades had actually got slightly worse as well - worse for Lydia's standards of course, since E was still the worse grade she had gotten so far. She blamed it all on the stress she was under: back in her muggle school she was almost always the best in her class, but since arriving at Hogwarts she had found it harder to maintain high grades in all of her classes.
It wasn't like her parents were asking her to be a top student, they never did, but Lydia always wanted to do her best and make them proud, but that of course caused her a lot of stress. That's why when Dawn invited her to meet her in the study room for a meeting with other students that were going through similar things, Lydia couldn't say no. She loved helping people, in any way she could, and if these meetings could help other students feel better about their mental health, then Lydia wanted to be part of it, even if that meant more things for her to do and more stress to be under.
When she finally reached the study room, Lydia stopped in front of the door to adjust her uniform and her hair, trying to make it look as if she juts hadn't run from the other end of the castle to get there in time. She tried to ignore her shaky hand as she opened the door to the study room, it wasn't the right moment to have a panic attack, and when she entered she saw that the other people had already arrived.
She hurried towards them, her face red for the embarrassment, and she sat down next to Willow.
"Hi! I'm so sorry for being late!" she apologised, an embarrassed smile spread over her lips, "I hope I didn't make you wait for too long. I'm Lydia, Lydia Cooper!" she added then, as she looked at the boy sitting next to Willow and at the Ravenclaw girl.
"Everything beautiful is ruined eventually."
