Unexpected Friendship  PV Destrian   Closed

That day started really well for our little Gryffindor.

He woke up fresh and rested, in his head there was already a big plan for the whole day.
He was happier and more cheerful than usual, greeting everyone who met during his trip to the Great Hall, where he would have had breakfast. That was a positive thing to start the day with.
After a healthy and large meal, he immediately left the Great Hall to go up to the First Floor. He had a free period, so he decided to take advantage of it.

He walked quickly, with his precious notebook tight in his arms and his Magical wand in the Gryffindor cloak's pocket, almost falling down from it. He checked the corridor and nobody was around. Most of the students were still eating.
He stared at the Study Room door for several seconds until he decided to open and, finally, enter. He breathed the closed air of the room, which wasn't that bad for him. It looked ancient, fascinating and cool. Nobody was there, apparently.

The boy put back his notebook on the dusty and old desk, opening it to the 'Fire-Making Spell' page. He read that carefully, trying to not miss a word. He still had problems with that spell, he wasn't able to control it.
Darius grabbed firmly his wand as he read the paragraph, but he looked like he was waiting for something to happen.
He felt it from the moment he had woke up. He felt something was going to happen.
And that something was about to happen: somebody opened the Study Room's door.

"If you can dream it, you can do it!"

Destrian was walking the hallways to head for the study room. He had a lot to do and even more to study, it seemed. But the thing that truly cracked his head was Muggle Studies. He knew nothing about them and it seemed like he was at a great disadvantage in class. Most knew at least something about muggles, except for Destrian. He hadn't even ever met one. Sure, he had seen them, but never spoken to them. And his father had told him very little about muggles and what they were like, what they did and what they believed in. It was all a big mystery. And most of what they did or found logic, was so very illogic.

He had his book and notebooks with him, in which he had taken many notes. But most of them he didn't quite understand anymore, having forgotten the context of the lesson during which he had taken the note. He doubted he'd pass the test. And if he did, it would be because he would have guessed perfectly, but not because he actually knew the answers.

With a sigh he pushed open the door of the study room. It was calm inside. There was only one boy. Gryffindor. The red curls immediately betrayed him. "Oh- Hello there, Darius." Destrian had paused for a moment in the doorway, eying the boy with his wand in his hand as if he was expecting him to do something. But when nothing happened, he stepped inside and shut the door behind him. "What are you doing?" he asked as he approached the table, setting down his books.

The Gryffindor boy was reading that notebook again and again. It had to be something he missed, something he didn't notice, but nothing. He almost memorized those words. So that only meant he was doing something wrong with that spell.
Darius was born in an old, rustic and modest muggle house. Literally.
His house was too far away from town, so... A couch was better than nothing.
Both of his parents were muggles, both of them didn't know anything about the magic world, even though his father was fascinated by that kind of stuff.
His brother shown his wizard blood first, then him. Darius felt somewhat proud of himself, being different from all the other kids. He could do things the other children couldn't, even though Darius couldn't control them.
His father was feeling proud and happy for his children, while his mother, well...
She, as a Catholic Christian, didn't take that well at all. She began to be scared of her own kids and their relationship got weaker and harder. The same happened with her husband, who got kicked out from home. From that moment, nor Darius nor his brother never saw him again.
They lived their childhood in their mom's sister house, their sweet aunt, who took care of them as if she was their mother.
Darius kinda hated his powers for a while, so, even though he was a wizard, he didn't know absolutely anything about magic and wizards before coming to Hogwarts. We could say Darius was in Destrian's situation, but the opposite.

He lifted his head from the notebook, opening his big eyes wide to look at the student who entered the room. He recognised him after a few seconds: it was that Slytherin he met once in the Abandoned Classroom! He was Destrian... Something. Darius was really bad at remembering names and most of all faces, so it was kind of embarrassing for him. He smiled anyway to greet him.
"Hey Destrian!" He exclaimed.
'I can't tell him I was kinda waiting for his arrival, it would sound creepy... But also really cool! Like they do in movies! Hehe' He thought, smiling to himself. Gosh, do you have to ramble in your head too? No wonder you always have your head in the clouds.
"I was trying to exercise. I'm not able to cast the Fire-Making Spell. Well, I can but..." He interrupted himself to look down at his left hand, where he had a really bad cut scar. He got that once when he tried to light up a candle inside a glass jar. The flame was too intense and the jar broke, cutting his hand badly. "I can't do it properly, hehe" He finished with a tiny smile, embarrassed.

"If you can dream it, you can do it!"
