The future SOLO Completed

Platform 9 3/4 was hustling with activity, students and parents alike were scattered along the platform as they nervously walked along the train. The station was filled with a dense smoke as the transport lay unmoving on the tracks, waiting penitently for the various passengers to hop on board. Towards the front of the train there was a pillar that provided entry. One after the other they entered through, each one having a different background or story. However, the next group of people stood out from the average family. Standing in front of the pillar was a young Percival Gray, followed by his two parents Elias and Primrose. They were all dressed smartly for the occasion, with all them wearing a sharp black suit to show off their wealth "This train is the first step you'll take in carrying on the Gray legacy son" Ellias said down to his son as they made their way down the train, a small smirk crossing the corner of his mouth "Me, my father, and those before him took the same path. What you make from it is entirely up to you" he added on as they slowly came to a stop.

His father slowly put a hand on Percivals shoulder as a sign of encouragement, he knew his son wouldn't let him down "Father, I wont let you down... you have my promise" Percival urged as he turned around to face him. Nothing was going to stop him from achieving his goals at Hogwarts, failure and bringing humiliation onto his family was not in his plans "Percy, I think we both know you'll do just fine." Primrose said in support as she slowly kneeled down and fixed the collar on his suit "Ná déan meascadh le muggles" she said to him in gaelic, her eyes staring into his eyes coldly. Percival slowly nodded his head in acknowledgement "is féidir leat brath air" he replied back with another small nod, it was easy to agree with her, mixing with muggles was a big no.

The Hogwarts express whistled as a sign it was time for everyone to climb aboard, forcing everyone around them to hurry up their goodbyes "All your things should be on the train already, other than one thing..." said his mother when she got up, looking over to his dad to finish off the sentence, who slowly rolled his eyes and chuckled "A newspaper..." finished Elias who reached into his suit pocket to take out a rolled up Daily Bugal newspaper, before giving it to his son "Thanks, I'll be sure to use it as a weapon for any muggle that comes my way" joked the boy as he tucked it into his own pocket and grabbed onto one of the rails that extended into the train, looking back one last time to his parents that watched on proudly. Nothing was going to prevent him from letting down his parents and tarnishing the family legacy, only him himself can stop that from happening. After a few more seconds he would make his way into the train, a new journey only just beginning.

“This is only a foretaste of what is to come, and only the shadow of what is going to be.”
