Compartment 6  Closed

Lucy stood besides her parents, her mother stared down at her only child as tears glistened in her eyes. While Lucys father smiled kindly at his only daughter watching the other families quietly.

"You will write to us right dear?" Lucys mother asked quietly.

The young brunette nodded her head swiftly, exictement growing im the pit of her stomach.

"Of course Mum. I will write every day if i must." Lucy said giving her mother a sly smile.

Lucys mother chuckled slightly wiping her grey blue eyes. Lucy turned her attention to her father as she felt a lump grow in her throat. Sure she loved her mum but she always found it hard saying bye to her parents and seeing her father tearing up in front of the young girl made her want to cry. But she kept reasuring herself, that everything will be alright. After saying her good byes quickly and hugging her parents, she climbed aboard the Hogwarts express. Looking for an empty compartment. Glancing at each compartment, her eyes lingered to an empty one with the number six on it. Taking in a deep breath, she opened up the door sliding her trunk in to the compartment as she sat near the window waving bye to her parents as they slowly became figures in the distance.

While Dymphna's entire family wanted to be there to see her off on her first train ride to Hogwarts, it was her father who was able to be there with her. He made sure she made it onto the platform without any trouble, going so far as to push her trolley containing her trunk and supplies through the wall. Like his daughter, he was an empathetic soul and she believed he could tell that she was nervous. First impressions were important to her, just as doing well in school was.

Sniffling but trying to hide it behind a brave face, Dymphna stepped away from her father's embrace and onto the train. "You'll be brilliant, lovebug," he called out to her. With a small smile, she let his encouragement wash over her, watching through the window as he disappeared from view, the train heading towards Hogwarts. She let out a breath that she hadn't realized she'd been holding and took off in search of a place to sit during the train journey.

Everyone seemed to have paired up already, many compartments being full. She spotted a familiar face, her friend for many years now but Aileen was already getting chummy with a few other girls. It seemed rude to interrupt, no matter how excited she was to see her. A few more full compartments later, Dymphna spotted a boy who seemed to be the 'life of the party'... er, compartment and wished that the compartment wasn't already full so that she could join in on the fun. It would be nice to have someone to talk to on the journey.

One compartment down, there was a girl all on her own. "Hello," she began, "Do you mind if I join you?" It would be unpolite to ask but it seemed that it was her last option either way.

Lucy turnef her head around quickly a smile spreading acrosd her face.

"No not at all come in."

Lucy smiled happily feeling some hope that this maybe her first chance in making friends. She glanced at the girl on front of her quietly. Pushing her dark brown hair away from her eyes, lucy stretched out her right hand grinning a toothy smile while her chocolate brown eyes shined brightly.

"My names Lucy. Lucy Pickens, its my first year. What about you?"

Lilias waved goodbye to her parents. They didn't want to keep her any longer. She hurried onto the train, hoping to get a good seat. The compartments she passed were all full. She had to dodge a girl running past her.
Unfortunately for Lilias that dodge cost her her balance. Her robe, which was way too large for her, caught under her foot and she was sent head first into the floor. Her wand rolled across the floor, miraculously not getting stepped on.
She scrambled after it and just when she was about to grab it the train moved and it sent her wand rolling even further. She kept chasing it until she found herself in a compartment with two other girls. Her cheeks darkened in her embarrassment as she watched the two girls, her hand still outstretched for her mischievous wand.

Relieved to have finally found a compartment, Dymphna stepped inside and sat across from the girl. "Thanks, it was getting rather crowded." At her outstretched hand, she mentally kicked herself for not introducing herself sooner. "Oh, sorry!" She shook her hand, a small smile on her face, "My name's Dymphna. It's nice to meet you, Lucy." Maybe they could become friends, even if they were to be sorted in different houses. But what if we're sorted into the same house, she thought excitedly.

Out of the corner of her eye, the blonde caught sight of another girl on the floor. "Are you quite alright?" Letting go of the other girls hand, she leaned down to check on the poor stranger. Had she fallen? That was when she saw the wand but it seemed rude to touch another person's wand without permission. Instead, she moved to help the girl to her feet so she could retrieve it herself. "Your robes look a little too big for you. Would you like me to try and fix it?" She hadn't used much magic at home but she knew that there was a spell to shrink clothing a tad. If only she could remember the incantation. . .

Lilias accepted the offered help. At the mention of her clothes she held her arms out to her sides and peered down at her robe. They were really big, but it was entirely her fault. No one told her sizes had been different in London. Especially not her parents.
She remembered the girl and looked up at her. She shook her head. She'd learn to fix them herself. Or buy new robes. She grabbed her wand and smiled politely to the girl. She didn't want to seem rude by refusing to speak, but she also couldn't bear her voice. She bit her lip, thinking on what to do, nearly forgetting the two girls before her yet again.

Lucy smiled kindly, hoping she made a new found friend she stood up rather quickly looking at the young girl who had fallen.

"Are you alright?"

Lucy asked concerned. As she smiled kindly at the girls. In front of her.

Lilias looked to the other girl who had stood so suddenly. She watched her for a moment before she realized she had asked her a question. She nodded her head and held her wand awkwardly in front of her. Her long robe sleeves fell back to her elbows and she was glad they weren't hanging all over the place.
Deciding that she was going to do something that wouldn't make her seem so antisocial she stuck out her hand to the girl. "Lilias!" She shouted to the girl. She cringed inwardly for being so awkward and shouting it. But she was also relieved that her voice didn't betray her the way it always did. She knew that the next time she spoke it would not be so kind to her.
She lost herself with her hand still stuck out in front of, extended to the girl.

Lucy shooked lilias hand gently smiling happily as thoughts of making new friends with these new girls. Exictement built up inside the young eleven year old girl.

"My names Lucy pleasure to meet you Lilias correct?"

Lucy asked kindly showing a kind warm smile showing her slightly uneven teeth.

Lilias snapped back to reality and nodded her head. Lucy was a sweet girl, kind and caring, sometimes hard to come by. She pointed the chair, hoping she understood what she was asking her.
She tucked her wand into her belt, hoping it wouldn't snap. Ollivander had told her never to put it in her back pocket. That would be good advice if she had even had back pockets.

"Go ahead you  can stay in here with us. It would be nice having a few people our age. I'm quiet exicted to start at Hogwarts i come from a muggle born family. So it is quiet a surprise that i am witch well it explains a lot of crazy things."

Lucy said happily grining exictedly. Her mind was spinning happily, while her chocolate brown eyes sparkled with excitement. The idea of making new friends.

Lilias smiled and sat. She was surprised to hear that Lucy was a muggle born. She had only ever met pure-blooded wizards and witches.
"P-PPPur-rre blooood." Lilias visibly winced at the sound of her voice. She hated it so much. It not only sounded horrible, but it made casting spells harder for her. She wished she could just get rid of her voice forever and that be that.

Lucy smiled sweetly at lilias.

"That is amazing. Pureblood does that mean theirs nothing but magical blood?"

Lucy asked curiously humming happily, a smile spreading across her face.

Lilias nodded her head eagerly. No one had ever been so nice to her after discovering that she was a pure-blood witch. Everyone had always had bad experiences with pure-blooded witches and wizards. She had been raised to be better than that. Everyone deserved a chance at magic.
The sweet trolly passed by and the lady asked if they wanted anything. Lilias nodded and pointed a box of Burty Bots Every Flavor Beans and then pointed again, asking for two chocolate frogs. She smiled kindly and paid for her sweets. The lady waited for any other orders.

Lucy skiled sweetly asking for sugar quills and a few chocalte frogs. Humming slightly she look at the chocolate frogs curiously thinking if they where acutual frogs or not.

"Are they real? Or meant to look real?"

Lucy quietly asked staring at the  chocolate frog package.
