To the hidden platform 9 3/4. Closed

Cherri stood tall and walked with eligance through King's Cross station after having spent the previous fortnight at the leaky cauldron and shopping for school supplies at Diagon Alley with her mother Mrs Walker a well known specialist healer at Mungo hospital. Cherri's mother had to stop and talk to other specialist and colleagues every minute or so making the trip somewhat difficult. It was clear to Cherri now that her mother and father brought her up in the muggle world so she would be separated from the attention her mothers work brought to the family. Her father was also a muggle and felt Cherri would benefit from learning about the muggle world giving her the benefits of both worlds. Cherri didn't even know magic existed until her tenth birthday last year.

Cherri's father, unfortunately, was unable to spend time away from his government job in Wales. It had been a long journey to London, her mother deciding despite being a witch that it would be best to travel by muggle means of transport, reminding Cherri of the dangers of using magic unnecessarily. Cherri knew her mother was referring to magical injuries she'd seen at her workplace at St Mungo, but Cherri felt her mother was still trying to shield her from being overwhelmed again, although she hadn't felt overwhelmed for months, in fact, she was now beginning to enjoy the idea of magic and she looked forward to Hogwarts.

Cherri carefully pulled her heavy trunk behind her with the grace and ease expected of a lady. Cherri's flute was also packed away in her trunk another reason to take great care, and she had promised Mother she would continue to practice even at Hogwarts. Cherri saw platform nine was ahead and through the wall was the Hogwarts Express. Cherri could feel herself becoming excited, but maintained her composure.
"Sweety." Her Mother said, stopping Cherri to face her placing a hand on Cherri's shoulder. "Before you walk through the wall, you must understand how important it is that you find your own way at Hogwarts regardless of what people may have heard about me through my line of work, OK?" Asked Cherri Mother starring at her directly.
"Ok." Said Cherri.
"Your father and I, we just wanted to give you the best and protect you, it's why we raised you the way we did." Said her Mother reassuringly.
"Thanks Mother, I know and I'll be fine! May I ask you, which house were you a part of?" Said Cherri wondering.
"That's not important, what's important is your sorting ceremony and your journey at Hogwarts not mine." Said her Mother.
Cherri nodded but disappointed.
"How about a compromise, I'll send it in an owl, but after your settled in, ok?" Said her Mother.
Cherri nodded.
"Right time to run through the barricade, you ready?" Said her Mother.
Cherri smiled, "Yeah."
"Great off you go, I'll be right behind you." Said her Mother.
Cherri checked that the coast was clear before she walked towards the wall, she felt nervous inside, but remembered she was a lady and kept her walk steady and closed her eyes as she hit the wall, but instead of crashing Cherri felt as if she passed through some kind of invisible barrier, and when she opened her eyes again she could see the Hogwarts Express standing in front of her, she was amazed and struggled not to show her reaction.
"That was my reaction too when I first saw it sweety." Said her Mother smiling at her whom had now joined Cherri on the platform.
"Come on, you better board the train. It will be departing soon, but remember your manners and etiquette whilst at Hogwarts. " Said her Mother hugging her daughter.

Cherri hugged her mother back and replied, "Of course Mother." as she boarding the train and waved as the train took off.
