On December 18th, 2006, May was born in London, England, as the first and only child of the muggles Maria Lluvia, and Joseph Walsh. May was brought up into a relatively average family. They lived in an average home, and her dad worked an average job. May's father worked an office job at shipping company, and her mother stayed at home. Her mother, Maria Lluvia was half Mexican, and moved to live in London with her husband Joseph Walsh. Maria prompted the notion of May carrying her last name. Joseph agreed, for he had many siblings and they all had children that would carry on the family name. When May was ending year 3 (second grade) of school, Joseph left. Neither May, or her mother knew why. She changed a lot over that year, she grew up. Her mother was miserable and scared, and that frightened May. Joseph has always managed the family, London was familiar to him, as it wasn't to Maria. What was left of the family fell short. They had to move to the small city of Vista. They got a smaller house, and managed to scrape by. Maria and May, were in no position to take hold of luxuries.

Around this time, May first showed signs of magic. It started when Maria and May were first alone, no money, no job. With her mother's encouragement, May was often sent into stores or markets to get food. While get food may imply that they were buying it, that was definitely not the case. At first, May would grab whatever food that was the least likely to be seen gone, and sometimes that would simply be food off the top of a trashcan. Eventually, she grew more confident with the notion. She would grab fresh produce and meat without anybody even noticing. One time, a store clerk stared directly at her while she was leaving with multiple stoled meals. He simply smiled and nodded. This happened consistently. Sometimes, they would even watch her take the meals and walk away. This sometimes made May feel guilty. She would refuse to go out. Her mother thought May's "talent" was amazing and just what they needed. Maria would often steal as a child, and encouraged May to go on. On few occasions, Maria would even punish May if she refused, but mostly she just made May feel guilty for not suppling what was left of her family with food.

May's personal life was relatively average, however one thing that made it hard when she was younger was the fact that she loathed the idea of somebody coming to her house and seeing that they lived with little space, and the most technical thing they had was a broken stove. This fear came to the point that in year 4 (third grade)of her muggle school she would even hide in the bathroom if even the notion of a playdate came to the conversation. The few of May's friends were little boys at her school. She didn't share much in common with them, she liked reading and learning when she could, why they wanted to go out and play. She shared one thing with them, but May didn't even know that at the time, so I won't list it here. But May preferred that to girls who pointed out that she wore the same outfit every other day. Or that they noticed she never brought anything to show-and-tell. They said those things with no offense intended, but it made May self conscious, and that only got worse as she got older.

Just before Year 6 (5th Grade) started, May received her invitation to Hogwarts. Maria, who was at such desperate and low place, had no trouble believing it, and was overjoyed to send May to a place where she would taken care of. This broke May apart. She thought her mother saw this as way to leave a family, just as her father did. This misunderstanding was not resolved before May left.

And that is where we left off. To be continued...
