Born on the 31st of October, an almost sacred night to the magical world, in London to her mother, Athena Dragonlight, Amber is now an 11-year-old first year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
Her life pre-acceptance letter was spent reading muggle literature and dreaming of the day an owl would arrive. Amber had excellent marks in primary school, and could usually be found sitting in the gardens with her friends as they created fantastical stories.
Her first incident of accidental magic was when the fire alarm went off because she had accidentally set fire to the storytime chair. No one, except her wizard parents, knew it was her fault though. Her friends that are now going to Muggle secondary school obviously don't know anything about real magic, but they all are obsessed with fantasy novels and shows. Amber herself often writes short stories about her favorite books and attempts to draw characters from them.
Her pure-blood mother works as a healer at St. Mungo's, her muggle-born father a  reporter for the Daily Prophet. Her mother's side of the family support blood-purity ideology and have disowned her and Amber from the Galexy family. Her father's family are devout Christians who believe magic is devil-worship and disowned her father when he came of age. Thus, Amber and her family are living a semi-isolated life in Muggle London with the occasional visit to other wizards in the magical Quarter. She had a few wizard friends before coming to Hogwarts, but they are upperclassmen at Hogwarts.


Physically, Amber is around 134 centimeters (about 4'4") and weighs 37 kilos (82 pounds).  She has wavy waist-long dark brown hair that is usually in an elaborate braid done by her mother or down. Her eyes are a striking grey and her features are soft. Her sense of style outside of school uniforms consists of skinny jeans and jumpers, although Amber is also often found in costumes resembling her favorite fictional characters.


Amber's personality tends to be caring towards her friends but cold towards her less-than-kind peers, rather excitable about books, and smart bordering on know-it-all. She wants to learn as much as she can, and nothing will stop her. She is skilled in schoolwork and creative endeavours but lacks in physical strength and agility despite her talents in speed and endurance which she honed during her time on the football team at school. Other weaknesses of hers are stubbornness, refusal to quit or take breaks, and her desire to work through any problem even if she can't handle it. She fears not having friends, spiders, the death of her loved ones, and oblivion. She's usually quite optimistic and quite innocent and naive. Amber hates it when people twist her words against her and can't stand bullies, which are the cause of some of her most painful memories.
