With auburn hair that he's praying will turn darker with age, brown eyes, and an infectious smile, Ezra is someone with boundless energy and heads a little in the clouds.

Ezra is someone characterized by his jack-of-all trades skill set. He is average or above average at almost anything but he has yet to find any talent that truly sets him apart from other kids at Hogwarts. Instead, he is characterized by being a generally nice kid who is always up to try something new or have a laugh.
One large problem about Ezra is his sensitivity to failure. Though he loves activity and has a decent brain, he is completely incapable of trying his 100% when he might not be good enough. It's much easier to fudge the work and laugh with his friends who got equally mediocre grades.
A subsection of this sensitivity is a tendency to be jealous of people who defeat him when he puts in effort or who are extremely skilled at something Ezra values without trying.
A blessing or curse depending on the day is Ezra's laidback personality. He doesn't like to make waves so when a friend might talk bad about someone else, Ezra has a tendency to stay silent, even if it makes him uncomfortable. He doesn't normally do well in conflict as an observer since he rarely going to pick a side.
This easygoing side also allows him to be friendly with everyone, Slytherin and Gryffindor alike (a lack of exposure to the wizard world helps this too). He likes conversation and adventure and will not hesitate in inviting an unwitting stranger to join in.
Being an 11-year old, Ezra has been relatively unchallenged in the empathy department. When he is confronted with problems larger than his own, Ezra will try to be sensitive and help, but he is often emotionally disconnected.

Ezra grew up in Horsforth, a villiage that is exactly what any foreigner would expect an English town to look like. It has the tan brick and stone houses with a variety of foliage covering the outskirts building and the small shoppes with solid coloured signs- all pretty standard.
In a small town like this, wizards were few and far between as his parents had planned. Ezra's mother was not apart of the sacred 28 bloodline, but her family was a historical one that touted tradition and proper wizarding behavior. When his mother, Mary, went off and eloped with a muggle she had gotten to know over her voluntary commute to her Ministry job, the young couple decided it would be best to move back to his hometown.
So Ezra went to primary school with the Muggle children, largely unconcerned with his abilities as they rarely to manifested themselves and unimportant to life in Horsforth. He was above average with his schoolwork and talented in football. An admirable personality let him coast the rest of the way in terms of popularity. The question is if this lifestyle will continue as easily in a school for magic.
