Grace was born the only child to famous muggle and children's book author Thomas Vale, and his wife, Delilah. Grace grew up fairly sheltered in a small village within Northern Ireland where she was exclusively home-schooled due to the dwindling population of around 200. Without any peers of her own age to be her measuring stick of normality, Grace was blissfully unaware of how unusual she truly was -- of how not-normal it was to make flowers bloom and paper planes dance. Luckily, her mother recognized the signs early-on and Grace learned of the wizarding world at the age of 7. Delilah was a surprisingly talented potioneer until she gave up her wizarding career to home-school her daughter.

Due to her isolated upbringing Grace is a little on the odd side, often acting older and wiser than her age may suggest. This is primarily due to growing up among adults. She is extremely studious and eager to learn, infinitely curious of the world around her -- especially of magic. People are a bit of a mystery to her but Grace is normally quite friendly and sweet, if a little introverted at times. Though not everyone is so easily defined and there are hidden sides to each coin. With that wisdom comes cunning and calculation, observation and analysis. With that studious nature comes ambition, a competitive edge, and being goal-oriented. While she can be friendly and sweet to those she likes, Grace can be sharp and cutting to those she doesn't. She is unafraid to speak her mind but careful with how she words it.

Currently Grace is only eleven years old, meaning that she still has a lot of physical growth to do. At this point in time she is one of the shorter children in class, standing at 142.8cm and weighing less than 35kgs. Due to spending most of her time indoors Grace is extremely pale with white-blonde hair that falls in loose waves just below the petite rise of her shoulders, the bangs of which are usually tucked behind her ears. Large, rounded eyes give her an innocent, curious expression and her irises are a pale, washed out shade of green as if the colour had ran.
