Catriona was born in the rather rainy city of Edinburgh on November 19th, 2008. She was the first child of Reid and Scarlett Fraser, a rather charming couple--if not somewhat odd-- who had only lived in the city for two years before welcoming their new little bundle of joy. Evin was an outgoing, charming man in the process of writing his first novel. Scarlett was just as vivacious as her muggle husband. She ran a little beauty shop in the city, where she sold homemade organic balms, lotions, and products that she whipped up in her own cauldron kitchen. The bubbly, cheerful little girl they welcomed into the world seemed to complete the picture of a young, happy family perfectly.

Catriona Evain Fraser was a curious child. She was always sticking her nose where it didn't belong, whether it was her father's study or her mother's potion room. The small flat provided her endless opportunities to explore, and the little girl was sad to say goodbye when they moved to Inverness. Her parents made the choice to leave Edinburgh in the hopes of starting a family in the highlands, away from the bustling city so Scarlett could practice her magic with a little more freedom. With the success of Reid's first novel (a fantasy novel that dealt primarily with the world of elves and fairies), the family was finally able to leave when Catriona was only three.

It wasn't long after moving to Inverness that the family welcomed another little girl into the world. Davinia Alice Fraser was born only a year after the move, and four-year-old Catriona was ecstatic. She quickly fell into the role of the bossy older sister, and she delighted in leading Davinia on "adventures" as soon as the younger girl could walk. The family lived a little outside of the city, so the girls had lots of room to run around outside as they grew up. They were very close, and Davinia was often glued to her older sister's side until it was time for Catriona to go to school.

Catriona attended a muggle school for the first few years of her primary education. There, she met her best friend Felicity Mackenzie. She became fast friends with the muggle girl, and she never quite understood why she wasn't allowed to bring the girl into her mother's potions room or show her Scarlett's wand. It wasn't until Catriona was seven that she really understood.

Catriona and Felicity were playing outside during break one day when some boys from another year came over and started to pick on them. They kept teasing Felicity about her red hair (something Catriona had always been jealous of, as hers was just a plain brown). They were so mean that Felicity started to cry. Furious that they had hurt her friend, Cat started to tell the boys off for picking on girls younger than them. The fiery little girl didn't back down when they tried to make fun of her too, so Catriona resorted to pushing one of them. Expecting the boy to simply fall down to the ground, she was shocked when he was propelled backward through the air, landing at least a yard away. The boys quickly ran off after, and Felicity was silent from fear. One of the teachers who had witnessed the event took Catriona inside and called her parents to explain the situation. Even the Ministry had to get involved, as Catriona's accidental display risked alerting muggles to the existence of magic.

Scarlett was delighted that her daughter had displayed signs of magic and quickly suggested they homeschool Catriona, to appease the Ministry and avoid the possibility for displays of accidental magic once more. Reid agreed whole-heartedly, and the two split the job of educating their eldest daughter. They took turns teaching the different subjects, and Catriona quickly grew accustomed to the new schooling. After a few weeks of being homeschooled, Catriona was shocked when Felicity showed up at her door. She was even more surprised when Felicity didn't seem to remember the muggle bully flying backward. Scarlett explained to Catriona that the Ministry had obliviated all the muggles who had witnessed the event, explaining that muggles couldn't know about the world of magic. Catriona was still allowed to play with her muggle friends (as her parents had decided it was important for her to know about both worlds of her heritage), but she could never tell them about magic. Cat agreed to the terms, excited to be able to play with her best friend again. Felicity introduced her new friend Charlie Thompson. The three often spent time playing together when Charlie and Felicity were done with school for the day. But Catriona was never as close to anyone as her sister.

Catriona and Davinia spent as much time as possible together. Despite the four year age gap, they remained incredibly close. Catriona would often fill Davinia's head with stories and adventures. Their favorites were of fairies and favors, painting them as the sly and cunning characters from their father's stories. Scarlett would often ask the girls to go and pick flowers for her potions, and Catriona would turn these trips into quests for her and her sister. Oftentimes, she'd orchestrate games where the two had to outsmart the fairies if they wanted to make it back in time for supper.

And so life continued until Catriona reached the age of 11. She grew into an inquisitive, independent young girl who was unafraid to speak her mind. Oftentimes, she'd lead either Davinia or Felicity and Charlie into some rather... mischievous antics they would barely escape by the skin of their teeth (especially if it meant picking on the school bullies). She's very guarded, and she often tends to keep people at arm's length until they give her a reason to really let them in. Of course, Cat's polite and kind enough to strangers. But she rarely lets them see below the surface. That being said, she's a pretty emotional child. The little brunette tends to feel every emotion fully, and when she finally lets go of the reign it can get a little wild. Books or smaller objects have flown off the shelves during stronger fits of emotions more than once. Despite being a little slow to trust, once Cat makes friends she's extremely loyal to them. New friends to her have always been more like her own little family. She's extremely outspoken, and she isn't afraid to speak her mind. Catriona has a bit of a temper, and she has a sharp tongue to match. She's gotten in trouble on more than one occasion for being a little too cruel. Cat's a fairly confident girl, and she rarely second-guesses herself unless she was definitively proven wrong. She loves the rare opportunities when she gets to travel with her father for book signings and appearances, and she always makes it a point to explore as much as possible when she's in a new place.

Catriona's always thought of herself as rather plain, with her mousy brown hair and extremely pale skin. Her favorite feature is easily her eyes, with their pretty blue tint. She has a sweet face, with a cute little nose and a wide smile. Her teeth are a little large, but her mother assures Cat she'll grow into them. She's small and petite for her age, but she doesn't really mind it. It seems people tend to underestimate her slight frame, which is fine by her. Catriona doesn't quite know what her path is yet, but she knows she's going to become someone important. She's determined to leave her impact on the wizarding world, and she's itching to start her journey as a witch. She can't wait to see what Hogwarts has in store for her.
