Ana Fox - Character Description

Ana is, as every Hogwarts student, eleven years old. Being very small and slim for her age, she is often mistaken for a younger child, which greatly annoys her. However, what she lacks in terms of size, she compensates with her way of speaking. Anyone who meets her will quickly get a first expression of Ana being outspoken and extrovert - although she can also come across as somewhat rude because she often blurts out the first thing that comes to her mind without stopping to reflect what others may think of her for it; she considers this both a gift and a curse.
Not only her frequently used loud voice make Ana stand out in a curse, but also her appearance. From her mother the young girl has inherited a massive Afro and light brown skin. In terms of clothing, she loves to wear denim clothes as well as chequered patterns. She's usually seen in trousers but doesn't mind the occasional dress or skirt.
Ana enjoys climbing trees and has recently started on rock climbing. In general, she likes all things to do with outside activity and sports, although she also finds joy in baking and drawing.
Ana first exhibited signs of magic ability at the age of seven years - on her seventh birthday, to be precise. During the party dinner, the table which had been brought out into the garden, full of slices of chocolate cake and lemonade, rose into the air, much to the surprise of the party guests (who later had to be Obliviated by members of the Magical Ministry). Ana is not quite sure what the cause of this incident was, but instinctively sensed that she was somehow responsible for it and guesses that it had something to do with a girl's snarky comment about the outfit her mother had sewn as a present for Ana.
This and other accidental displays of magic caused the four years since Ana's seventh birthday to be a difficult time for the family. After a few more incidents, Mrs. and Mr. Fox started to believe Ana when she said that what happened around her had something to do with her and her feelings. However, being Muggles, her parents were completely overwhelmed by the situation. They brought their daughter to different doctors, but to no avail - all those ever did was to declare the whole family bonkers.
When the letter from Hogwarts arrived at their small, cozy flat in Dublin, offering an explanation for the peculiar ongoings of the last years as well as a chance for Ana to learn to control her magic, her parents were delighted. Despite struggling to grasp the concept that their daughter should be a witch, they always acted immensely supportive of Ana.
The young witch herself, on the other hand, viewed this letter as a tragedy. Going to Hogwarts would mean to leave her family and friends behind, amongst them a girl, Laila, whom she had a crush on. Ana's desperate longing to stay in Dublin caused a lot of arguments between her and her parents. The result was Ana reluctantly boarding the Hogwarts express.
