Named after one of the most remarkable stars from the constellation of Cetus, Mira is latin for “wonderful” or “astonishing”. At first sight, many would agree with this definition: she is lighthearted and energetic and those around her often notice her bright energy early on. Once you have befriended her and gained her trust, she is fiercely loyal to you and is not afraid to show it. Mira can also be impulsive, which mostly shows itself in adventurous and, frankly, mischievous behavior. However, if you get to know her better, you notice that Mira is very stubborn and set in her ways and she can be blunt, stating things as they are and not always thinking about other's feelings first. Although, she normally doesn't mean to hurt people's feelings and will not be too shy to apologize if she was too blunt (once she has cooled down, which may take a while). She does things the way she wants to, often without really thinking about it first. Her stubbornness also makes her quite unforgiving, so if you hurt her and it was your fault, she will not quickly go back running to you. She likes to make up for her size by having a big mouth, nerves of steel, a deadly stare and absolutely no shame.
Lastly, Mira is rather impatient and can't sit still for the life of her, unless she is writing or reading a book, but even that she often can't focus long on.
Mira is short and petite, even for an eleven year old, with light skin and piercing blue-greenish eyes and often described as pretty. She has long, straight dark-brown hair, which she usually lets hang loose and which seems to magically stay untangled, no matter what she does. Across her cheeks and nose are countless freckles. She always wears a small necklace with a star pendant, which she often plays with, especially when distressed.
Mira was born on a warm spring morning in Worthing, England to her muggle mother Sarah and wizard father Thomas. As a young child Mira already started displaying signs of magic, making the lights flicker when she was upset. Still, her mother found it important that she was also knowledgeable about muggles and so, until she received her Hogwarts Letter, she attended a muggle primary school. In the weekends, she often stayed up late with her father, gazing at the stars, while her father taught her about the mystic world above her and she listened, transfixed and mesmerized. For such beauty, she believed, she would never see anywhere else. So, her life was perfectly normal and she was perfectly happy with it the way it was. It wasn’t like Mira was ever bored; she would make sure of that. She had plenty of muggle friends, but she found it hard to befriend people who knew nothing about the biggest part of her life and so she grew closest to her parents. Her father was her partner in crime, her mischievous, adventurous and silly second half and she could clearly remember the countless of times her mother had been mad at both of them for something they did. Her mother was her guardian angel, witty, smart and extremely loving, Mira had great respect for her mother and told her everything. Her parents had taught her everything she knows and Mira would never be ashamed for the fact that they are her best friends. In fact, she doesn’t believe anyone would even be able to compete with them over the title.
