Erika Meyer
Status:
Muggle-born
Nationality:
German
Residence:
Manchester, England
Function:
First year, Gryffindor
Wand:
25,8 cm walnut wood and phoenix feather
Personality:

Erika is bubbly, spontaneous, and enjoys being around other people. She is outgoing and friendly, and while she tries to be conscious of others' feelings, her opinions are strong and inflexible and can make her come off as insensitive. She is stubborn and doesn't like being told she is wrong, making her opposed to change. She can get worked up on certain topics very easily and is extremely competitive.
Her opinion of a person is largely determined by her first impression of them. If she decides she likes a person, she'll continue to put effort into developing the relationship. But if she finds a person suspicious, untrustworthy, or just doesn't like them, she'll avoid them like the plague. Oh yeah, and be careful with her trust — it's not a toy. Once broken there is little to no chance that it will ever be rebuilt.

Appearance:

Erika has long, slightly wavy brown hair that she usually wears up in a ponytail for convenience. Her round glasses rest comfortably over her hazel eyes, and though she doesn't have perfect 20/20 vision, her vision isn't terrible. The main reason she wears them is that she thinks she looks better with them than without. She stands at 5'4" and weighs 115 pounds. She is athletic and exercises both to stay fit and for fun, but doesn't really care about what she eats. She is fast on her feet from the many sports she has done, as well as stronger than the average girl, but her muscle dispersion, size, and weight are better designed for speed.

Background/History:

Erika grew up in Munich as the only child of her wizard mother and muggle father. She went to a normal muggle school her entire life and didn't know anything about her magical background until her powers began to emerge.
At first she was scared and didn't tell anyone about her new powers, but her parents caught wind of the incidences almost immediately and her mom sat her down to have "the magic talk". She told her about the existence of magic and the Wizarding World and gave her some tips on how to better hone her magic without a wand.
It didn't take long after that for them to make the announcement that they were moving to England. A double whammy.
They made the trip just before she turned ten and the year that followed was a mess of adapting to a new country, school, and lifestyle, making new friends, and trying to figure out this magic thing. Her life was changing so quickly and drastically that she might as well have been living someone else's. The dramatic and surreal changes were both parts exciting and aggravating. The cherry on top was her mom announcing her pregnancy soon after they settled into their place in Manchester.
From that point on, Erika's relationship with her parents wavered and she began spending more time with her new friends. Until her acceptance letter to Hogwarts arrived, of course.

Magical Incidences:

Her first magical experience occurred during one of her soccer games. They were tied and down to the last few seconds of the game when she got the ball. She was almost halfway across the field but saw an opening and went for it without hesitation. The ball shot across the field with a burst of supernatural speed, sending players of both teams diving out of its path. A good call on their part, considering that when the smoke cleared, there was a clear trail of charred grass leading from where Erika stood to a burning hole through the opposing team's net.
With such an obvious display of magic to muggles, the Ministry of Magic had to step in. They altered the witnesses' memories so that instead of a magical feat, Erika scored the winning goal in a completely normal way, though it was still impressive.
From then on out, her magical occurrences became more frequent but less extreme. Smaller things began occurring like the stack of tests in her teacher's arms that exploded after she got a bad grade or an ability to approach certain animals that most people couldn't — things that could pass as normal much more easily. Naturally, she didn't have control of what or when any of these things happened though.
