The extensive line of O’Niell is quite an old one, with generations upon generations of half-bloods, ever still producing wizards and witches that are powerful in their own right every so often. Young magic users in this family turn their focus to healing magics in their later years, often becoming doctors and healers in the muggle world, where many meet their spouses. Most recently, they’ve aligned with the high-class Callery family. A once pure-blooded house that in very recent years, has become mixed. They too are an old name. One of wealth and a history of witches and wizards skilled in divination and alchemy.

Through this alignment, a child by the name of Sylvie O’Niell was born to parents Saiorse Callery and Dillion O’Niell on the evening of June 13th, 2008. Many in the Callery family didn’t much approve of this union in blood, especially a union with one such as the predominantly half-blooded O’Niell, thus resulting in their loss of blood purity, though these opinions were spoken in hushed whispers and behind closed doors, and still are to this day. Despite this, Sylvie was raised in a predominantly positive household in their youth.

As a toddler, Sylvie grew up in the muggle world at the O’Niell family home in Ireland, surrounded by hushed magic within her suburban home walls, being told bedtime stories of goblins and pixies and elves. She was an independent child, though very quiet. Almost unusually so for a child of that age, though one would assume she was simply lost in her own world at the time.

When she was five years old, her family moved to Caerleon, Wales where she was enrolled in kindergarten. Though her stoic and quiet nature would stay throughout her early years, two children by the names of Thomas and Talulah Baines, her classmate seemed to help bring her out of her shell, for better or for worse, and she grew to be fast friends with them. To this day, they’re still as close as best friends can be.

By the time she was 7, she had practically turned into a new person. No longer was she freakishly silent. As a matter of fact, she was quite extroverted in the way she interacted with others. It was during this time that Sylvie began to have her first experiences with her own magic. One day, during a playdate a the Baines residence, a minor altercation flared up between Tommy and Sylvie. After Tommy called Sylvie’s shoes ugly, that was the last straw. Tommy’s shoes went flying right off his feet, across the bedroom and out the window, causing the boy to fall flat on his back. Quite literally swept off of his feet. Of course, this caused Tommy and Sylvie to collectively lose their minds and both swore to never speak of the moment again.

Many minor happenings such as this happened throughout the rest of her time in the muggle world and her family was more than aware. During this time, she was told what was to come and would be expected of her during her time at the mystical school of Hogwarts. She grew up to look much like her mother, with her red hair and warm brown eyes and fair skin. The only things she inherited from her father were the little freckles on her nose. When the time finally came, she was nervous. She stood with her parents on the “Platform 9 ¾” she had heard so much about, and as the train pulled up to the station, her whole world felt as though it would be flipped upside-down, but when she waved goodbye to her parents and climbed aboard the train, she was only filled with excitement for what was to come next.
