Standing at about 5’4”, Robbie is surprisingly tall for his age, as both of his parents are taller than average. He has blue eyes, somewhat short brown hair, and a fair complexion. Due to the years he’d spent on the junior rugby team, he’s fairly built for an 11 year old. Though he has a cheery, genuine smile, it’s rarely shown. His face almost always holds a scowl or a contemptuous smirk, typically a front to make him seem like a tough guy.

Robbie is a Muggle-born son of two working class folks from Newcastle. Both of his parents work to support him and his siblings: two older brothers and one younger sister. His older brothers are 16 and 13, named James and Arthur respectively. His younger sister is 9, and her name is Emily. They didn’t live in a particularly affluent fashion, but they were a happy family despite any money problems.

The three brothers were always immensely overprotective over Emily. In addition to being the youngest of the four, and the only girl in the set of siblings, she has Down Syndrome. Despite her neurological challenges, the family always worked hard to support her academically and socially as best as they could. James, Arthur, and Robbie even took it upon themselves to beat up any blokes who looked at her the wrong way. Robbie would frequently get himself into scraps (and often in a lot of trouble along the way) to defend her at an early age.

One instance in particular worth noting, was an incident when Robbie was 8 years old. Emily had just started proper schooling at the same elementary that the rest of the family had been attending. As Down Syndrome is a visible disability, Emily found herself the victim of a good amount of mocking early on, as most 5 year old children don’t have much of a concept of ableism, or compassion for that matter. Robbie stepped in one fateful recess, and in his anger his magic manifested. A tree was set ablaze just a few short feet away, and while it served to terrify the bullies (as they didn’t understand what was going on), it also served to land Robert in deep trouble. Still, there was no proof that he actually caused the arson, so while he didn’t suffer legal penalties for destruction of property, he still had quite some time to spend in detention.

As time passed after the incident, Robbie noted that his magic never really manifested again. It seemed like a peculiar, one off, and none of his family members were able to offer an explanation. They simply patted him on the back, assumed he had been lying, and placated his hysterical claims that yes, the tree was TOTALLY on fire. That was, of course, until he got his Hogwarts letter.
