Cool and collected, Tanya often gives people the impression that she truly does not care. Quick to judge people, it can be hard to return from the dark side in her eyes. Upon first meeting, people usually start at -100 and can make their way up to her good graces. . . or not. Alternatively, if she finds someone she likes (and who is patient enough to stick around), she will stick with them forever. She is blunt, and doesn't care to speak in class. She suffers from insomnia, and finds herself sleeping during class then catching up for lost time during the night. When she is interested in a subject, she becomes intensely focused on it, often setting aside time outside of class to do more research on it.

Tanya is of average height and a little underweight due to her anxieties. She has curly, soft brown hair that goes to the jawline in a bob cut. She is most often seen bundled up, being perpetually cold. Tanya has hazel green eyes that seem to change color depending on the lighting she's in.

She grew up in foster care after her mother passed away when she was six. Due to her abrasive personality, she always had a hard time settling in and making friends. Add onto this that she has always been afflicted with anxiety, which manifests itself via various sleeping disorders, including sleepwalking and insomnia. She often found solace at school, and could usually be found in the library, reading in an effort to escape into other worlds. She enjoys sitting quietly and immersing herself into a good book, and at her last home she had a hammock strung up in the backyard which she practically lived in.

Her magic first started appearing after her mother died. She always had a temper, and has a scathing tongue. She was often bullied, and upon realizing that they'd never beat her in a verbal match, kids would then turn to hitting her. After one such encounter, some unknown force knocked the kids back several feet. Once, she fell down a hill, and the next day her bruises were gone.
