I was born out in the northern reaches of Scotland. I'm a summer child but my favorite season is the fall. There's just something magical about those cool autumn breezes and the warm hues of the red and orange leaves rustling in the wind. Fall tends to run short in the north as its soon replaced by a bleak and terribly frigid winter. When my father could no longer tolerate the harsh climate in the Highlands, he picked up the family and moved us to Brighton, I was five. I like Brighton, not only is it warmer but we have lovely beaches. My favorite thing to do is head down to the shore on a sunny day with a book in hand and just relax with the rolling of the waves playing in the background.

I come from a small family with my mom, dad, and sister, they're everything to me. I'm the oldest child but not by much, just three years behind me is my younger sister, Amelia. I get the feeling that she is jealous of me because she hasn't shown any magical abilities yet. We get along well enough. My father, Alexander, was a late bloomer too, so I'm pretty sure she'll show something any day now. My dad, the family comedian, has a steady job in the food industry working in a warehouse for the makers of Chocolate Frogs. Every now and again he comes home with some free samples which my sweet-tooth appreciates. My mother, Elenna, is a muggle who works for the Department of Corrections. She thought about being a police office but decided it was safer working to keep the criminals locked in prison rather than being the one to catch and put them in prison to begin with. I myself, hope to follow in my Uncle's footsteps and become a Healer one day. There's just so much we have left to learn about healing magic and without our health we have nothing.

When I was seven years old, I first started to show magic. While having dinner with my family, a hefty slice of my mother's carrot cake, my favorite of her desserts, started levitating barely an inch above the glass serving platter. From the center of the table it calmly floated over to my plate where it came to a rest. My parents were so proud, they didn't even mind that I had barely touched my brussel sprouts. Mom was so excited that she baked an extra cake that week just for me.

I'm overjoyed to begin my first year at Hogwarts but I'm sad that I'll be leaving my family. I don't have many friends and the friends I do have are all muggles so I worry about having to find new friends at school. I met the friends I do have while attending a muggle school. My buddies don't know I can do magic and my father says it has to stay that way or else we'll be in big trouble with the ministry. I'm not great at keeping secrets, but this was one I never broke. Now that I'm at Hogwarts I won't see my muggle friends as much, but maybe we'll meet up over the holidays. Hopefully I'll be too busy with studying to notice how homesick I am.

In terms of my personality, I would describe myself as more of an introvert. At first glance, I have a pretty serious demeanor and conduct myself in a manner mature for my age, but if we start to bond then I may open up to you and you'll see how looney I can be. I like going out for a butter beer but I'm just as content sitting by the fireplace playing Wizard chess. My muggle friends would say I'm funny, so I guess I take after my dad as well. I'm so happy to have been placed in Ravenclaw. This is the house that will best prepare me for my N.E.W.T.s and I'm going to need all the help I can get. Plus, you can't beat the view from our tower.

I'd love to try out for the Ravenclaw Quidditch team. It looks like so much fun and I bet it would be a good way to meet people. If I make the team, maybe I can play as a Beater, that would be great! Whatever the case, I look forward to starting my journey at Hogwarts. I hope to do well and make my parents proud.
