Kaden was born and raised in the south of Kirkcaldy, Scotland to a big family of six older brothers and two older sisters. He has curly, short brown hair, and sea green eyes that always seem to light up when he smiles. His mother is a cook at the local seafood shack, and his father is a fisherman. With his father often gone for long periods of time, it was usually just his siblings and his mother, Isabelle. She had her hands full, what with nine children and a job, so she was always quick on her toes. It wasn't always easy, the kids not making it any better getting into trouble here and there, but she always seemed to find a way to make it work out. His father Jody, is a hardworking man that loves what he does. Even with him being away most of the time, he always made time for his family. He would often bring back trinkets from fishing trips and tell bedtime stories of the mysteries of the ocean. Together they raised their children as well as they could.

Kaden was always a happy go lucky kid. He's the kid in class that does things just to put a smile on someones face. Others would consider him quite popular, but he never thought of it that way. He loved making new friends, but adventure was where his heart was truly set. He would often get into trouble for going off and exploring on his own. He would disappear for hours on end and give his mother and siblings a fright but he was never lost, only searching. For what he never quite found out. Never one for schoolwork, he always had trouble in school. It wasn't that he couldn't do the work, he would just become quite bored of it all. It wasn't until he was nine that he was diagnosed with ADHD. His grades suffered from it, but with the help of his extra tutoring, and studying he's managed so far.

Isabelle first realized that Kaden was special when he was but two years old. He'd wanted to play with the family dog, but she wouldn't let him and he began to have a fit. One second he's crying and the next the items in the room begin to fling themselves. She was at a loss for words. What's a mother to do in that situation? She'd kept it from him until he got his letter. Kaden first felt his magic in grade school. He was nine and he had approached a boy who'd pushed a girl down at recess. The boy, a bit bigger than Kaden, pushed him down and Kaden became angry. Suddenly the leaves around them began to flutter, and out of nowhere a tree branch came flying at the boy. It only caused a scratch, but Kaden couldn't explain it.

Getting his Hogwarts letter was the most excitement that Kaden had felt in all his eleven years on Earth. A school where magic was real? He and his family thought it was a prank until a man dressed in weird clothing showed up on their doorstep. He explained the process, all the while being stared at and questioned. At first it was hard to believe, but after the man performed magic in front of their eyes, Kaden and his family couldn't deny it much longer.
