Eden is a pale boy with delicate, cherubic features. He has big, dark brown eyes and a very neat, prim black bowl cut.

He is significantly shorter and more feeble than other kids his age. He was born prematurely and the medical issues that stemmed from that, combined with several recessive illnesses, made his body the host of a concoction of various ailments. Weak heart, poor immune system, frail bones, delicate stomach, a deficient in muscle growth, etc. etc.

Eden was born to Percy and Meredith Honeyrose and is their fourth and final child. Meredith was a talented and intelligent heiress of a pureblood Welch/Chinese wizard family, while Percy was the child of two half-bloods. They had met while they were both studying abroad and they had fallen in love. Meredith's mother threatened to disown her if she pursued him further, so Meredith cut off all contact with her and settled down with her new partner in Burford.

They had a total of four children; Evelyn, Cecil, Lilian, and Eden.

Eden had a primarily good childhood, excluding the year he and his siblings spent with his grandparents. And with his status as the youngest child combined with his weak constitution, his parents babied him. It wasn’t hard. He was never too fussy or bratty and was quite sweet. Though, this has caused his relationships with his siblings to become rocky.

His eldest sister, Evelyn, has felt the need to take up the responsibility as almost a third parent. Cecil and Lilian were both wild children, and the babysitters they had as a child had difficulty containing them, so she felt as if she needed to parent them in her parent's absence. When Eden was diagnosed, this instinct kicked into overdrive. She believes Eden is her responsibility as the oldest sibling.

Cecil, on the other hand, refuses to take any responsibility. Cecil never really had to deal with any extreme or burdening responsibilities as a child due to Evelyn frequently volunteering herself for them. This changed when Eden's condition worsened and he was suddenly bombarded with a bunch of things that he needed and was expected to do. Make sure Eden takes his medicine, make sure his blood pressure isn't too high, don't let him overexert himself, keep an eye on him Cecil never really was expected to do anything until Eden came along and Cecil resents him for that.

Lilian resents Eden for an entirely different reason though. Lilian was Meredith and Percy's third child and she is one year older than Eden. She was always a strange girl, unnerving almost, but she was desperate for affection. Not from a lack of her own family, of course, but from that outside. Her family thought nothing of her oddities, but her peers thought she was gross and weird for collecting bugs and snakes and the teachers thought there was something wrong with her for talking to herself. She was used to being rejected and she knew it was because she wasn't normal. When Eden was going to be joining her in primary school, she was scared he would also be bullied and mocked for being odd himself. That's not what happened. Eden's teachers and peers thought of him as funny, quirky, and cute. He wasn't mocked or bullied for bringing his stuffed rabbit to school. He wasn't bullied for talking to the flowers. She hates that he didn't have to go through the same thing she did, yet she is grateful for it. These emotions are conflicting to her, so she lashes out at the person who won't judge her, Eden.

Eden is the sweetest of his siblings. He has a rather large heart and tries to be very kind and genuine. He's very compassionate and tries to be understanding. Eden has a tendency to blame himself for poorly gone interactions and overanalyzes the actions and behaviors of other people. A lot of his insecurities stemming from his condition and how it affects what he can and cannot do and how others treat him. Although he is kind, he's easily irritated when people treat him as if he's incapable of taking care of himself, and can misconstrue genuine concern as pity.

He was eight when he found out he had magic and his mother was the one to discover it. Evelyn’s 'boyfriend' at the time had gotten her a rose for Valentine's Day, a week had past and the rose was entirely wilted, much to Evelyn’s dismay. Meredith had gone to make dinner and found Eden, age eight, standing on a chair gawking at the now replenished rose. She connected the dots and had to, very patiently, explain to Eden what happened and later wrangle him when he ran from her arms to try and ‘liven’ up the flowers in their neighbor’s garden.
