Sage Calloway is kind, intelligent, and very independent now. When she found out that she was a witch - a shock, for her and for her Muggle parents - she also found out that to learn magic, she must go to a boarding school. As someone who has always been incredibly close to her family, she had a tough choice to make. For a long time, Sage considered not actually going to Hogwarts; how could she leave her parents behind, when they meant so much to her? Would being a witch distance them from her? She was terrified. Her mother was the one who convinced her to go, though, with promises of school holidays and writing every day and eternal love.

Her blonde hair falls a little below her collar bones, and she has light brown eyes. Her face is round, her cheeks always a little pink, and her eyelashes a little more sparse than she would like them to be.

She had an ordinary upbringing; she went to Muggle school, where she was a talented student, but not the best. She had friends, but wasn't popular. She attended the school's book club and enjoyed going to the park to play with her friends. Her parents were her best friends, though. The family had always been tight-knit, and her parents were nothing but kind and supportive, leading to her own kindness and willingness to be there for those she loved, no matter the cost. Her parents had a great impact on who she is.

Her magic first surfaced when she was 7, although until she received her Hogwarts letter, neither she nor her parents knew that she was magical. They had all just assumed that odd things happened around her, and it was part of her charm, a cute quirk. She had fallen down the stairs once (it was quite a tumble), and she'd smacked into the ground at the bottom. Miraculously, though, she stood up without a scratch. She had also been scared, once, when an older student decided that she was a good target to steal pocket money from, but the older girl had found that when she took Sage's money, it simply disappeared from her hand, appearing back inside Sage's pocket. The older girl, unsure of what was going on, and deciding that Sage was just a weirdo, had left her be after that. Yes, 'a cute quirk', they had thought.
