Seemingly, Gray Grant would appear to be not so different than your average boy on the streets of Manchester. As far as records go, there is no documented evidence or reports of any strange occurrences concerning him, anything concerning details him to be a school boy with relatively good grades, well-behaved most of the time, as well as a belonging to a single mother struggling to maintain their current status. But beyond that tells a different story.

Those who knew him well did not actually told or implied all the details of Grant's everyday life, instead they only gave out the more normal aspects of his life, things that a first impression of him would likely include, but never the extravagant happenings around him. This did this so that he would be safe, that no one would have the inclination to try and hurt him, or risk attracting the attention of an unknown, deadly force. Fearing that if someone were to find out, it will result in terrible consequences, for them and possibly the two worlds.

Observations from acquaintances and those somewhat in relation to him described his appearance as, "A ghostly giant, with a body that is almost as thin as a telephone pole." Schoolchildren around his age are usually slightly intimidated by the tallness of Grant; whenever he would try to talk to another child, the respondent often gets frightened, and attempt to back off. Older children or adolescents range mostly differently, though many of them seems to express slight surprise at his height. Besides his tall height, he is described to have a pointy chin, hooked nose, short, but curly hair, and a look of "someone who clearly spends too much time in his room, all day long."

Personality-wise, he wears a kind demeanor around other people, always minding what other people feel, and making sure to adjust if one finds themselves to possess concern about him. Through this kindness however, his loved ones find him to be particularly... Antsy. When he opens up around people he finds trustful, he would display his troubles earnestly, stressing over things that most people would find trivial or not important enough, and insecurities. Some friends of him mentioned that he frequently rubs his fingers against the back side of his other hand.

He is not afraid to share his opinions with anyone on his own, even to complete strangers, sometimes even to the point of seemingly preaching them when not asked. However, this attribute does have its limits, when a overwhelmingly quantity or majority of people around him are doing a certain thing, he is urged to go with them despite what he might actually feel, or want to do.

When given the opportunity, he can get along with almost all people, his kindness and sensitivity leading through his actions and words. In the face of danger or threat, he tries his best to stand ground, and try to handle it his own way. If all hope seems lost, his antsy side will begin to seize control, reducing him to a quivering, hand-rubbing, worrying, tree of a boy.

His single mother at home known her son to be an indoors kind of person, usually staying inside to mind his own business, and tending to avoid the outdoors despite what she tells him. While laying down on a comfortable object, Grant would gaze into whatever is in front of him, and send himself into the depths of his mind, reflecting recent events, and imagining a better future for him and his mother by passing school, go to college, and get a job that can support them both. Other times, he writes short stories about topics he's interested in at the moment, or as parallels to real-life events he experienced just recently. He doesn't view television very much, but when he does, it's often a cartoon or a brief glimpse into the news.

Up until now, he's believed to be living a relatively normal life, but what really is going on with him, is something a muggle can never know. Especially when a certain letter came into the mail just recently...
