Neculai Dragos Lazar, third of his name was born in one of Romania's largest and most esteemed wizard families there are. Neculai has always been a bit of a socially awkward person, he could be described as shy and an introvert. Due to being an introvert he sought his escape in books. If he is being pressed in interacting with others he has a tendency to brag. Neculai is a closed person, but when he gets comfortable with someone he tends to let them get too close, which resulted in philophobia.

Neculai looks like any other 11 year old. A normal boy with glasses, brown hair and a rather skinny posture as he tends to spend his days mostly reading, forgetting all about dinner in the process. When he is forced to go outside he tends to go visit the zoo. His family had gathered its wealth by buying and selling magical creatures from all over the world. He had it difficult with his family selling some of the creatures. He used to have a Pygmy Puff named Puffer as a pet. The bond between them was unlike any other Neculai had ever experienced. This creature was his friend and companion. They never left each others side and had many fun adventures playing hide and seek in his family's grand estate. One day when Neculai returned from school his parents told him they had sold Puffer to a man who travelled the world with some of his most bizarre creatures. When he had seen Puffer he just had to had him and his parents agreed on it for the right price. Neculai was devastated after this news and never dared to let anyone get this close to him ever again. Neculai can communicate better with creatures as they don't tend to judge you on how you look or how you act, they just accept you for who you are. An aspect most humans lack.

The first time Neculai's parents discovered he had magic was when he was 8 years old. He was once again to be found in the estate's library, his favorite place by far, it was late in the night, Neculai was reading an autobiography of Gilderoy Lockhart. When he was half falling asleep the story of the book became reality, right inside the library! He saw Gilderoy Lockhart fighting the Wagga Wagga Werewolf.
