Sophia has always struggled with her hair, which sits in coils jutting wildly around her head in all directions, like a wispy halo, clumping together in stubborn knots that she lacked the patience to fight. Like the rest of her family, she is short in stature, but not exceptionally so, with notably large, dark green eyes. Sophia is relatively fast and nimble, with surprising stamina.

Sophia is very active, and perhaps a little over-eager in her pursuit for adventure, with a tendency to grow restless if left idle for too long. Her curious nature leads to a profound fascination with the unknown. If there is, for example, an abandoned house in the street, rumored to be haunted, she won't be able to rest at night until she's at least peaked through a few windows, or tried a few doors on the off chance they were left unlocked. It's not breaking and entering if nobody lives there, right?

Sophia has always hated the confines of muggle school. A practical learner, she found it near impossible to invest her attention and interest in the theories and equations found in textbooks, and many times she found herself in trouble for daydreaming, or sometimes actually dreaming, awoken from a nap to the sniggers of her classmates. What some may call a lack of drive or ambition can be put down to impaired concentration and focus, her mind always on other, more exciting things. 

She had a few friends in her classes, to whom she was fiercely loyal. However, the number of friendly faces was far outnumbered by that of the bullies that hounded her. Her crippling fear of confrontation and the innate instinct to flee rather than fight made her an easy target in school, which didn't help improve her attitude towards the place. Standing up for herself when threatened or demeaned is a daunting task that she would much rather avoid. Although sensitive, she hates to vent emotion or cry in front of others, and will often find a place to hide and be alone when she's stressed or upset.   

Sophia was born into a muggle household. She has always had a strong relationship with her older brother, who she considers her best friend and partner in crime. She would happily cover for him on nights that he decided to sneak out of the house to meet friends, and he would return the favour by completing her homework for her, piles of math problems that would otherwise continue to build. The only thing that troubled her, upon receiving her letter to Hogwarts, was travelling far away and leaving him behind. Although loving, her parents are strict to a fault, and although the two siblings had quite a ball breaking the many house rules behind the scenes, carefully covering their tracks as they went, they would seldom ever talk back or test a boundary in front of them.
