Overwhelming
She walked down the hall with her head down low, clutching her books tightly to her chest. A million thoughts raced through her head, too many to count or even keep track of.
Keep breathing. Relax.
It became her manta to keep control, but these day it seemed to work less and less. Her new thoughts were intrusive and loud.
Why are you here?! You don't belong here. You are a MUGGLE! Just like your parents. You don't belong here. Are you stupid? They won't respect you. You aren't special. You weren't special back home and you definitely aren't special here. You are a nobody with no idea what to do. Why are you here.
"Shut up." Gemini grumbled to herself quietly trying to keep it together. She felt hopeless and confused every single day since she got to Hogwarts. She grew up without magic and had only learned she was a witch recently and now that she's here she just feel overwhelmed and rather stupid compared to others.
Back home in her small town Gemini was still a loner. She found it difficult to overcome her silent demeanour and no one bothered to get to know her so she studied alone and spent all of her time with her animals. And nothing changed once she got to Hogwarts.
Gemini felt the tears prickle in her eyes. Starting with one slowing gliding down her cheek followed by more and more. Gemini quickly tried to wipe them away, covering her face as she bolted into the girls' lavatory. Running into a stall she felt her body give up as her knees slammed against the tiles and her sob cry out. She quickly covered her mouth hoping to stifle the cry and avoid confrontation with another person. She held her breath as she heard steps coming in her direction, but she couldn't block the sniffle and hiccup that escaped. Gemini closed her eyes hoping they didn't hear, not noticing that she left the stall door unlocked as she sat on the ground.

Aurelia pushed the silver button on the toilet bowl. The water swirled as it was flushed. She had to hold the button down longer as the toilet bowl was faulty. She wondered how many times the seat been used over the past few years and had never got it fixed. As she was about to open the cubicle door, she heard a muffled stifle. She recognised it immediately. Someone was crying. The girl exited the cubicle and rinsed her hands. Then there was another sob again. Aurelia turned around, the first cubicle’s door was left ajar, the occupant in it probably forgot to close it.
Aurelia turned the squeaky faucet off. She could still hear the crying. Perhaps she was injured but she knew that was most likely not the case. If someone was injured, they would go to the hospital wing and not be cooped up in the cubicle. She was probably troubled about something.
Being kind hearted as always, she knocked lightly on the door.
“Um, are you hurt? The door was left unopened and I’m just concerned,” The brunette said. It wasn’t a surprise if the girl told her to leave, after all, it was none of her business.

“Um, are you hurt? The door was left unopened and I’m just concerned," a brunette said slowly pushing the door open.
"Huh, oh umm... Yah I'm okay, I guess. I'm not injured or anything." Gemini said flustered that someone actually saw her crying on the ground of the bathroom. She hiccuped loudly.
"Sorry, I was... Well, am finding it hard to adjust to school here." she said slowly getting up. She just realized how hard she hit the ground as her knees ached and bruised from crashing with the tile. "Ow, okay maybe I am a bit injured." she said forcing a small smile through the stinging of her knees.
Gemini gave the girl a closed lip smile and went to pick up her books off of the ground. She wasn't lying, school was hard, or at least for her it was. Back at home she never really had a lot of friends, but at least she had good grades, and her animals to keep her company. But now she was in an entirely new world that she didn't yet understand, far away from her home. Saying it was just hard was the understatement of the year.
She looked up at the girls worried, but curious face. " Umm, hi. I'm Gemini Violet. Sorry that we had to meet under such odd circumstance."

Sophie had decided to screw classes over and ditch her History of Magic class. She wasn't bothered by skipping, she really hated History, but she had nowhere to hide to. She would look odd in the common room, most of the older years would point her out, and she would look odd in the Library, as the librarian would examine her schedule and lots of bad things would happen.
She decided on the Girls' Lavatory. Nobody would find her and she would be able to practice magic without being bothered. Of course, unless she happened to walk in and find two other girls standing there, talking.
One girl, a brunette with blue eyes, she recognized as Aurelia Bezuidenhout, the two had met on the train, and in the corridors, but the other girl Sophie had never seen before. By the girl's robes, she was in Ravenclaw.
Sophie stepped further inside. She saw the Ravenclaw girl sobbing, and Aurelia trying to comfort her. Sophie, wanting to intervene as quietly and as kindly as possible. She didn't want to leave anyone crying, and she most definitely didn't want to go back to class or get caught.
"Hey, are you two okay? What happened?"

Gemini wiped away her stray tears, letting out an awkwardly placed laugh at this situation.
"Haha umm, this is a bit awkward. Sorry, yah I think we're fine. Just the usual mental breakdown of the day." she joked hoping to lighten up the situation. Finally letting out a sincere smile she said, "Yeah, I think I'll actually be fine. Crying sort of helped. Thanks for asking, you two."
I'm so embarrassed. How did I manage to choose the one bathroom where I would meet two new people. They must think I'm so weak.
She looked down at her feet to avoid looking in their eyes. She felt like some kind of sad spectacle as they looked at her. I'm sure they meant well, but at this moment Gemini just felt mortified.
"Hi, I'm Gemini." she said to the new girl who walked in, as she started to raise her hand for a hand shake. Gemini regarded her politely and tried to shake off the feel of self-consciousness. It wasn't like she could embarrass herself even more at this point.
"Oh, you're both Gryffindors. That's really cool. I'm a Ravenclaw... which you could probably already tell..." she said trying to move the subject from her breakdown.

“It’s alright, I know, a new school might take sometime to get used to,” She gave the girl a smile to comfort her. Hogwarts in fact was better than her muggle one, one that others didn’t bother her like the bullies in her other school did. However, it might not be the same for other students.
Just then, another girl walked in. Aurelia reconised her. She was from Gryffindor as well and she had met her in the corridors once.
“Yes, I’m alright, Sophie.” The brunette said with a nod. The girl who had stopped crying said the same.
“Yes, your Ravenclaw crest gave that away.” She told her. Two Gryffindors and a Ravenclaw. Aurelia didn’t think it was odd to be crying in the lavatory, she had done the same in her muggle school when she was bullied.
“So what’s bothering you, if you don’t mind me asking,” The question left the brunette’s lips without a second thought. There clearly was someone bothering her and it would help for someone to hear her out. Perhaps Aurelia could even help the girl. Maybe the bathroom

Gemini felt comforted by the girls. They were actually being nice to her and they seemed like they actually cared to know how she was feeling, but she's been hurt by premature trust before.
"I'm sorry, it's just... I'm so new to all of this. Part of it seems like some kind of great dream, and then it's like if I do something wrong, someone's going to take it away from me... you know?" she said tryign to explain her complicated thoughts. She felt herself involuntarily opening up to these strangers.
"It's just so confusing sometimes because you grow up this one way and it isn't great, but then you are given a great opportunity to start over and you should be happy, but you keep thinking about how you have to adjust and obviously I'm not going to be as good as other people who live in this world... Ugh, I'm hopeless." she said rambling her insecurities.
It felt good to let her mind spill out for once. She was so used to keeping things to herself and hiding away from the world. It was her thing... but maybe she should change that.

Aurelia placed her hand on the sobbing girl's shoulder. She was rambling so fast that Aurelia almost couldn't hear anything she was saying. Her eyebrow's furrowed as she mentioned about someone taking something away from her. It dint make sense but the girl tried her best to understand.
"Your not hopeless," Aurelia said, trying to keep her voice as soft as possible. However, a part of her wanted to start on a long motivational speech. She was a Ravenclaw not a Gryffindor, she wasn't naturally courageous like the lions, instead she was intelligent. Most people Aurelia knew were mostly Gryffindors and Hufflepuffs, she only knew a handful of Ravenclaws.
Aurelia shook her head," sorry, I didn't understand anything you said." She admitted. Even if the girl's words didn't make sense, it didn't stop Aurelia from starting on her whole lecture. Even if a Ravenclaw, she needed to learn how to defend herself.
"Honey, if someone is bothering you or if someone wants to take away something you don't want to be taken. Tell them no. It is easy as that. If they keep pestering them, just punch them, they'd stop bothering you after that." She said in a long breath.
Aurelia wondered how long she had been sitting in the lavatory with the girl. She was late for class and didn't have a valid excuse.

"Honey, if someone is bothering you or if someone wants to take away something you don't want to be taken. Tell them no. It is easy as that. If they keep pestering them, just punch them, they'd stop bothering you after that."
Sophie had to laugh at what Aurelia said.
"Well we don't want her to end up like Eris. She punched Eri Windstone in the face remember? Then she got fired as a prefect."
She smiled a bit. That was something Sophie could understand perfectly well. But punching them for being a know-it-all? That wasn't necessarily the way to end things properly.
"Am I making any sense at all?"
Sophie nodded a bit she understood what Gemini said perfectly. In fact, it seemed to suit the Gryffindor much better than it did the Ravenclaw.
However, everything happened so quickly, Sophie didn't give a second thought in what she was saying.
"I understand. Its the same for me. My uncles passed away during the battle of Hogwarts in 1998. When I was born, eight years later, and heard the story from my mum, I was heart-broken. I never knew I had uncles. My family tree is very small. And, its all his, fault. Voldemort dueled James and Theodore Murphy One on Two. They both died." She felt tears burn against her cheeks, she simply wiped them away, and forced a smile.
